I like the LeFevour signing, if nothing else he's a great short yardage QB. Something we've had trouble with in the past.

Wow! What are they thinking. Must have lots of cap space with no where to use it.

Strange signing, one of the few areas of strength for the Riders. Unless they got him really cheap.

All in all the first day went pretty good for the Bombers. We didn't make a lot of big splashes and kept our key pieces. Losing Bass and Burnett was inevitable. But our front seven was no great shakes last year even with their talent. Signing big name free agents is a crap shoot, for every Harris there is a Shologan.

Loffler's got injury history, and the way he hits. Matt Black would be a nice pickup.

Boy looks like Calgary done a great job so far locking up their best potential free agents. The one exception being Dennis. Funny thing is the Stamps seem to never miss a beat when losing an American tackle to free agency.

It's a game and it's still early, Joey Elliott and Alex Brink are still out there too. It all comes down to money and where you want to spend it. Walters is being patient and that's good. At least he's not panicking and looking at the Youngs and Manziels out there.

Okpalaugo signing is probably better than anything we're going to get in free agency next week. With him and Stafford signing management is filling some key weakness. Boy I like these moves.

Cato was part of the problem in Montreal. Also slow in understanding and reading simple plays. Definatley would not want any part of him here.

JUST IN: According to @alexmarvez, the Cleveland Browns will hire Bob Wylie as their OL coach #CFL #Bombers. Just when our oline was finally melding into a cohesive unit, probably going to hurt more than losing one of our free agent players, other than Nichols.

Pretty standard across the board. If a city wants a pro sports franchise they are going to have to subsidize them in the form of tax breaks or lottery revenue. The benefits are many though as sports teams bring fresh cash into the economy generating tax income in another way. Happens all over the world.
