  1. He's got height, hands and decent speed - everything else can be taught.
  2. Yep go after Bowman and draft Archambeault ( probably 2nd round) would be a good start on a nice LB core
  3. Don't like to see anyone lose their job , but this was a move that had to be made in order to improve. A shutdown defence would go a long way towards a Grey Cup appearance next year.
  4. Archambeault would look good in blue
  5. Wow we got a shot
  6. Boy they don't have a knockout punch. Keeping the Dino's in it
  7. Great discussion! One thing I've noticed as the year has gone on is how well opposing defences have been adapting to our weaknesses. Any scheme is a good one when it works, however once the weaknesses are exposed it becomes very easy to shut down pretty much any type of offence. Calvillo got shut down by pressure and bumping his receivers off the line, Saskatchewans running attack gets shut down when you pile the line and turn the back inside, same as Calgary. However the good offences are able to counter and change up with a different look or scheme. For some reason we haven't done that until we changed up QB and RB against Calgary, then our Coordinator had to get more flexible.
  8. I wonder how much control of the game Willy actually has? I don't see many audibles. Willy seems to do his best during the 2 minute drill when everything is already planned and the D does not have time to react. How would Willy do calling his own plays with no huddle? Would be interesting to see if he's capable.
  9. There was a weird post yesterday morning from a poster I'd never seen before in reference to the Middle East if I remember correctly. It also had a bunch of links to other sites, a whole lot of links that made no sense. Wonder if that was the post that caused the site to go down or crash?
  10. Just don't know about Willy's vision and decision making. Think the OC is doing the thinking for him and not putting him in good situations. Opposing D's have figured this out. Willy needs to be more of his own man to be successful , don't know yet if he's capable. MB knows offences and schemes better than most but doesn't let the QB think enough and this gets in the way when opposition figures it out as everyone had since about game 7.
  11. But they were using Dressler and he went down and did not finish against the Esks
  12. Wonder why the Riders didn't use him on returns
  13. Brohm got the ball out really fast. Cotton hit the holes fast and hard did not dance , made the online look a lot better.
  14. We already have it. It's called heart. Now just need to improve our talent level, o and d line and middle linebacker are the greatest needs as well as a little more depth.
  15. Kuale is a liability. Costs us with his undisciplined play. Problem is I did not see a lot out of Krohmah today was out of position and did not seem quick enough. We need a quick hard hitting bigger body in the middle. Someone who has a nose for the football and is always around the play. Wild is the closest we have, just not quite big enough.
  16. Elementary my dear Watson, elementary !
  17. It's different for sure. First glance I liked it, but has way to much bling, hard on the eyes when you really look at it.
  18. Last year he was a dominating pressence at the tackle spot, I believe he even played left tackle for a few games. This year he didn't do so well in preseason and is on the practice roster behind Knapp and Howard. I find Knapp is quick enough but gets pushed around a lot at tackle. On Willy's fumble last night he was sacked by Howard's man and after Howard got beat he stood around and watched while the ball bounced free. January got schooled by Chick again. We sorely need last years Jones to help that oline.
  19. Yep. Even with all the other bad areas we will not win many games with a 7 turnover differential.
  20. Man the kid reminds me so much of Montana. Just give him enough time and a close score and he will come though for you.
  21. Please don't ever say that.... I meant it only in the context of Goltz as a short yardage QB. I don't remember him not getting the short yards required. However when Boltus played very seldom did we ever make it in the same situation. Marve does not seem to have that sixth sense to exploit the weakest area of a short yardage defence.
  22. Might be a short yardage option. We are sorely missing Goltz this year.
  23. Been reading these forums for a long time, thought I would finally get an account and occasionally share my thoughts. From Sask originally but have been a diehard Bomber fan for over 30 years. I have a passion for the 3 down game and can get pretty opinionated at times. Really like the direction the football club is going in and would feel the same if we were 0-3.
  24. Also if they are going to have Cotton on the roster should utilize him on offence more. Maybe in the hybrid slot/running back position ala Durie, especially when one of the receviers is inneffecive such as Kelly was last night. I counted 2 missed catchable balls. I think his injury slowed him just enough not to make those.
  25. Couple of things Beach. The birth of a child is something special and I don't think Bryant Turner did the wrong thing by missing a regular season game to witness it and applaud O'Shea for supporting him. Also I think you are way off base in stating that the Blue D made no adjustments. Something other than a couple of dropped passes changed to limit a high scoring 1st quarter RedBlacks to 1 touchdown the rest of the game. Adjustments are often little things such as attacking a specific gap differently, shifting your safety slightly to help a db that is getting picked on or changing lb responsibility for a back releasing out of the backfield. These little things are almost impossible to see on the tv and takes someone who knows what to look for and doesnt follow the ball to figure out when attending a game in person.
