  1. He's still not getting rid of the ball as quick as I'd like, and a few times where he tried to run through defenders made me nervous. Now, I think we can all say we're glad of the win and Nichols did well enough to get it. But Montreal is still bad and Manziel continues to prove that he may be an athletic QB, but he doesn't have the smarts to succeed in the CFL. The last five games are all against opponents we've lost to already this season, and Nichols needs to get back to 2017 form due to Richie Hall's stink against all of them.
  2. Well, we're up by 14 which isn't bad and at least Nichols is protecting the ball pretty well. I would like to see him get rid of it quicker in certain plays, but I can't really complain atm. Manziel ... Well the kid did show athleticism in some cases, but he is still trying to do too much and taking some dumb sacks out there.
  3. Likely not, but I have seen Wally Buono steal games he wasn't supposed to win before, and with our current losing streak I'd rather not cut it too close with the Leos. It'd also be good to get a little momentum heading into the playoffs so we got a little confidence.
  4. We've had a bye week to try and refocus the team, it had better count. With 6 games left, I think we gotta get to 9-9 minimum to get a shot at crossing over or traveling for the WSF. I have no problem going back to Nichols for the remaining 6, but he and O'Shea should know this 6-game stretch is the last chance to buy good will back with the fan base.
  5. None of the options in the poll quite fit what I'm thinking right now. As I said before, if we miss the playoffs I'd be all for canning him. Realistically, I probably don't see that happening, BUT .... Even if he doesn't get fired O'Shea should get no extension on his contract period at the end of this season, not even for one year. Bring him into 2019 like we did in 2016 on a very short rope and if the team doesn't get winning immediately, I'd say he's gone. No way are the results we're seeing with the talent we have acceptable.
  6. I think if you want to get Nichols and Adams confidence back up early and get SSK panicking? Call a play action deep shot first play from scrimmage and burn SSK with it. So long as Gainey isn't in the area, I say it works with a double move.
  7. I say put a little heat on O'Shea from upstairs coming into this game and maybe he'll coach like his butt is on fire. Or if nothing else, maybe he'll push his coordinators to be more aggressive.
  8. Paging Ryan Lankford here. Swear to god even when he's not in the lineup he has already contaminated this team. This is why the heat is cranking up on MOS.
  9. Ah, yeah that would make more sense. Sorry, I'm on a mobile device si it made it look like that's what he was saying.
  10. Dude do you even follow football down there? Rodgers ain't retiring anytime soon.
  11. We've lost 3 in a row and even though we can still turn it around yes, it's gonna take more than just finding a way to win the banjo bowl to do it. Obviously the more Nichols seems to regress, the less confidence we have he's going to rebound. And as has already been said, MOS wasted good opportunities by allowing a sucky member of his coaching staff to stick around where someone like Buono, Huff/Dickenson or Trestman would have tossed him. Right now they appear to be doing nothing to fix it other than just switching out a receiver for Lankford who also should have been gone at the end of last year. Michael O'Shea is treating this like Pop Warner football instead of a professional team. Sorry, but I'm really starting to buy that notion. No, he won't get fired before season is up, but he's now on borrowed time with us fans.
  12. Course speaking of special teams, our HC whose supposed to be the guru of that department got badly whipped there today too. Things are pointing quickly to his exit at the end of this season. If he is back next year though, he'll immediately be on borrowed time as will Walters assuming Miller is feeling the heat from the BOD.
  13. Well to be fair, you could argue Buck the QB coach has been partially responsible for that development. But I do agree it'd be a risky move. I'm not assuming either way that Buck is good or bad at creating a play book since nobody knows. But if Streveler suddenly made Lapo's offense look good again ... Well we'd know what was holding it back. Also, I'd have to agree being that Pierce practically was raised in the Lapolice system, he'd likely base his own playbook off of that one.
  14. I'm not really buying the notion that it's going to happen either, but sure seems people get ideas like that a lot such as assuming Jordan Younger will suddenly take over play calling after Richie Hall gets sent packing. Only misgivings I'd have about that though is if he kept the junky playbook.
  15. And Miller doesn't want the whole Bomber loyalty factor jeopardizing his standing with the board.
  16. Thought it was Miller's call.
  17. Yeah, as if 3 years wasn't enough to see Hall was ruining the defense. He's delusional if he thinks he hasn't been given enough time considering he's the 2nd longest current tenured HC behind Buono. Well tied for 2nd with Rick Campbell, and Campbell has a GC win to point to.
  18. Yeah, it's often been discussed the good things loyalty does, but that O'Shea allowed it to cloud his judgement to allow a DC to run a defense into the ground is astounding. He'll look back on that and realize it was his undoing.
  19. Funny I would have said it was Craig Dickenson who did that.
  20. Disagree, except for maybe the OL which clearly missed some blocking assignments on a few series I saw. I still say Hall and even now potentially Lapo are wasting talent or not scheming to use it right. MOS also was foolish to stick Demski on Kick return duties.
  21. Well, as I said I put part of that failure on Lapolice not fixing the scheme with man-beater routes or more misdirection fake end arounds or more stuff to get em open. As I mentioned, both our TD passes today came off play action.
  22. Well if that led to more no huddle plus more play action (the only plays working right now), I'd be all for it.
  23. This, hell my post just said I'd consider trading Nichols assuming that O'Shea and company are fired, because itd be pretty likely if that happened that his performance keeps going down. Besides, get a brand new outsider HC here and you don't even know if he'd favor Nichols. He could end up favoring Streveler. I've backed O'Shea before as well as Nichols, but their windows could be closing shut quick here.
  24. Well, after what I saw last Friday night, they might want a backup QB that can push Harris. Harris has been mediocre when he doesn't play against Richie Hall's defense.
  25. Thing is, Miller and Walters give MOS authority over coaching assistants, and he definitely won't fire Lapo. I'm thinking once O'Shea is gone the whole coaching staff exits with him.
