  1. Well, this thread also assumes missing the playoffs means three strikes and done for O'Shea and his entire staff.
  2. It was more of an idea of IF his level of play keeps dropping and has zero improvement by seasons end. He should stay starter the rest of the season, but unless it's been proven he's played the whole season on injuries affecting his mental clock, his starting job should not be any safer than it was for Buck Pierce or Drew Willy. But your statement of comparing Kavis Reed selling the farm for Manziel to this idea is nothing but ridiculous.
  3. Yup, gotta say he got it right when he referenced Head Coach Michael O'Shea being in trouble if he lost today. Team is slipping and he seems to be unaware of it. Too much talent too to be allowing this. Id say the BOD had better get the message to Miller and him to Walters that underachieving shouldn't be allowed here. MOS is no rookie head coach anymore so the results have to get better than this. I'd say if he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gotta be done. And besides, he was insane to keep Richie Hall around here to ruin the defense. Also, if he fails to make the playoffs and gets fired, I'd consider putting Nichols on the trade block and giving Streveler a starter's contract.
  4. One of his problems seems to be too much hesitation or over thinking when he's dropping back. I'd say ... 1. He isn't trusting what he's seeing 2. Lapolice isn't using enough tactics to scheme WRs open 3. Not one to turn on Nichols, but his leash is going to get shorter the way Streveler is chomping at the bit. Right now though, I'm probably more aggravated at the coaching staff. What is the deal using Demski to return kicks? Ridiculously bad idea. No aggressiveness either in this settle for FGs crap. Bad preparation it seems all around. I'd say this coaching staff should be given a must win ultimatum from here in out till seasons end. Get on a winning streak, make the playoffs and get a playoff win at minimum. Fail that, and their done. If the team fails to make the playoffs and MOS and staff get canned, make a trade deal with Nichols to Ottawa and then give Streveler a starter's contract.
  5. He's definitely not pulling the trigger like he was last year. Sucks cuz that was what had me liking him over Willy was his faster decisiveness and getting rid of the ball quicker. He definitely has started hesitating a lot more and appears to be not trusting what he's seeing. Personally though, this teams non-aggressive mentality should be blamed on the whole coaching staff. If Mike O'Shea repeats 2014 or 2015 in any manner of this season, get a new HC and entire new staff.
  6. Well, Lapolice might want to think about more hard play action calls in his play calls, because right now that seems to be the only way he's scheming guys open.
  7. Yeah, last series was on the OL. It does appear Lapolice has trouble scheming receivers open outside of play action though. Notice both TD passes today came off of play action and it's why I was raving that he needed to use it last week. All in all though, if you had told me we'd be up 17-14 at halftime in this one, I'd have been ecstatic to see that.
  8. Yeah I think the offense can do a little better today. But expect the torches, pitchforks and calls for Richie Hall's crucifixion to come out full force.
  9. Big Blue will have to put that in after today.
  10. Man good grief, way to give up 45 points to that ridiculously bad offense that could only manage 11 against MTL. GTFO Richie.
  11. While this may be true, Montreal's offense scored just as many points tonight as we did in the last game against Ottawa. So yes, this game exposed just how horrendous Richie Hall is even if our offense isn't exactly tearing it up right now.
  12. Well, maybe because neither Manziel nor any of their other garbage water QBs have done so much as that. And I thought the Redblacks had the tape on him already saith the posters?
  13. And it would seem despite breaking the bank on it, the Manziel show is over. I mean, why wouldn't it be? Only semblance of offense they've had has come from Pipkin.
  14. Man, just ridiculous that we gave up 45 points to that crappo offense team.
  15. Thinking Pipkin was thinking he'd better do a safe play there.
  16. Yeah and it's a shame that old stubborn Hall won't take note.
  17. Rich Stubler should retire after this season along with Richie Hall. His defenses don't work anymore.
  18. I would not be surprised if the Als won this game, but if I were them I'd drop E Jackson like a rock. And if Sherman is smart, he'll make Stanback a big part of this game plan as he's looked better than Sutton so far. Biggest problem for the Als is their atrocious secondary matched up on Sinopli, Spencer and Ellingson
  19. Well, perhaps had Sherman not been MIA during portions of it or had dedicated a lot more time to getting to know his QBs, the shenanigans with Matthews, Adams and Manziel may never have happened. Or, he made a mistake like the guys who gave up on Calvillo too soon and didn't realize his full potential. Or .... Even more so maybe it was Kavis Reed who ordered him cut from camp and Sherman simply followed marching orders. I really think the Als were lucky though that nobody else snatched him up.
  20. Well, fair point, perhaps it's been much more his kind of style and his giving an awful offense some competency that has me feeling Pipkin is being underrated here. Too many people as usual just only look at the numbers. Thing is, I'd be willing to bet Reilly's numbers on that crappy 2013 Edmonton team weren't as good as they were the last four years after that team got fixed. Personnel around a QB does matter.
  21. Well, given how bad Hall called that game on defense and the drops and penalties our guys were committing, idk if it's fair to say Streveler was all figured out.
  22. Some of this reminds me of when we kept giving Grigsby carries and had two upgrades over him in Cotton and Volny. Mike O'Shea's long history of playing favorites.
  23. Well, he has a funny way of showing that by allowing Richie Hall to wreck it.
  24. That's why I was ranting about play action in the other thread because I say defenses are honing onto Harris, and if they think he has the ball, they'll come up and open up the downfield. Plus if they start backing out again, you can use the draw play. Also, I will say this is why MOS deserves a little flack for not playing Streveler. It's not about which one is better, it's about making sure Nichols is at a full 100℅. Anything, and I mean anything short of that and he should be kept on the sidelines until he hits 100℅. Streveler was good enough to be kept playing but wasn't.
