  1. I really can't help but have this nagging feeling he's playing injured, even if assertions are being made to the contrary. Don't feel like QBs just lose their accuracy without being hampered by something. Has he gone the Willy way? Sure, it's possible, but from what? I don't feel he's taken any more hits or sacks than Willy did, in fact probably way less so. He's struggled to get in a rhythm when Lapolice isn't using his up tempo offense. Somehow when this is all said and done I got a feeling some kind of injury will be revealed.
  2. Well not hard to do either when the corners are backed 20 yards off.
  3. Lol I know I was trying to offer my lil bit there
  4. Well, the problem also is that just about any play call looks good against Richie Hall's defense. Perhaps if Lapo wasn't practicing calling plays against a ridiculous bend and break scheme he might change his approach a little.
  5. So where is this fiction about too many deep balls coming from I wonder
  6. I don't think he's fixed a damn thing in his life tbh
  7. 1. Well, I'd hope they suck, but they put up 37 on CGY last week and beat BC this week. When Collaros is healthy, he's better than Bridge. But yes, Richie Hall should just get left in Regina after this one. Right where he belongs. 2. I sure hope not, he was actually worse than Lankford this last game and that's saying something.
  8. The point is most of the run plays were being called on 1st down and the Stamps read them like a book. Hence the second and longs with the Stamps sending overload pressure.
  9. You do realize Demski was getting a few of those too right?
  10. I don't hate Lapo and I think he calls more good games than bad, but this last game he seemed to forget that you have to keep defenses off balance by changing things up a little. Just seemed like most the second half of that CGY game he failed to do this. If I can sit and watch and have a fairly good sense of when he's going to pass or not get baited up by any of his trick plays, I'm pretty sure the Stamps coaches could see the same thing. Yes Nichols was missing throws he probably should have made, but if your QB is struggling, you should start drives with an uptempo quick pass offense or something to start getting his confidence back up. I just didn't see any of this until way late in the game. I think the thing is you can have a fairly vanilla or predictable play call plan against teams like MTL, Toronto or even sometimes BC or Edmonton and get away with it. Against Calgary, you can't or they'll jump all over what you're doing.
  11. Well if that's the case, you should ask why, and I'd say it's because it takes a good GM to provide the kind of place that players want to go to. That was something Mack could not do and something Reed is failing bad at. But that wasn't really even the main point. Point is I wonder if they will have the guts to make a coaching change if necessary, or would they hang on to MOS the same way he has Richie Hall.
  12. Eesh I can only hope Walters and Miller have more sense than to do that. I guess I'm not sure who would get the call to decide MOS's future if he failed to make the playoffs this year if that would be Walters or Miller. Whoever it is would have to realize he was given 5 years to do it and missing the playoffs in three out of those five is not acceptable, especially this year when we have Grey Cup talent on the roster. I sure would hate to think our GM would be on the hot seat after signing guys like Harris and Dressler to the team, or that our CEO would also be on the cooker for trying to get a fresh way of conducting business here. But if they don't have the stones to understand that MOS keeps blowing his chances in certain games and retaining certain bad coaching assistants on his staff and has committed three strikes, then they too could be in trouble.
  13. The play calling can affect whether or not you find them open or have a chance to throw them open with certain passes. I also think we should start looking at using two RBs in sets either for a little extra protection, or to have Harris be a decoy for Flanders or LeFrance to get open on those flat routes.
  14. Oh good going way to conveniently leave out that he threw for 300 yards in spite of WR drops, or the fact that one of those INTs hit Ernest Jackson square in the chest and he paddlehaanded it like the crappy receiver he is. Or more so that Pipkin got down to the goal line so he ran in the other two TDs. Ridiculous post is ridiculous.
  15. He was making some of those throws just fine when Lapo was actually going in an up tempo offense, so yes it was Lapo calling predictable formations most of the game as well as run plays that the Stamps jumped all over. No changeups or creativity today whatsoever.
  16. Pretty likely cuz defenders get drawn to him like magnets. Do something to use him as a decoy or something to open up the field. Lapolice has to stop being predictable which is allowing opposing DCs to send all out blitzes on Nichols.
  17. I thought not enough of those were called today. Just a bunch of little dump offs that the Stamps jumped all over.
  18. I saw a ton of run plays on first and no play action today. No fake end arounds or nothing to try and fake the defense out. Trust me, Lapolice was putting Nichols in bad situations.
  19. Maybe but this thread is mistitled. It should be "Lapolice boo" I mean, think about it, he was putting Nichols in 2nd and long with his conservative play calling and predictable runs on 1st down. If you do that against the Stamps, they'll just throw the kitchen sink at you every time. Ffs how bout mixing in some draws, not waiting till late in the game to go up tempo and get Matt in a rhythm, and what was that garbage screen to Demski resembling what Trestman called last night?
  20. Yeah I'm starting to agree with this sentiment. I think he's done a lot of good as a coach, but the old saying is if you want to be the best you gotta beat the best, and thus far I just don't think he's shown he can do that either in the playoffs or in big games like this. Winning seasons can only get you so far and to make them count, playoff wins and Grey Cups must come. Talent is getting squandered in part because of his decision to retain Richie Hall, and today ... Well I think part of Nichols' struggles were on Lapolice not opening up the playbook enough and getting predictable with the calls. MOS should have at least been telling him to start getting a little more creative or going to tempo. I definitely think he has no excuse for not making the playoffs this season with the talent we got, and if he doesn't I'd be fully ready to move on. Think it's time to go beyond just a players coach to getting a highly creative general coaching this team.
  21. Man, I have to say Lapolice was the goat today. I know fans are going to be merciless on Nichols again with some of the sacks and the pick he threw, but I blame some of this on Lapo. Good lord what is this predictable run on first down and leave Nichols in 2nd and long all the time crap? Why do you wait until late in the game to call a tempo offense and in between then squeeze the play calling down instead of open it up? Lapo, you can do better than that I seen you do so, but today .... Sorry you're in the dog house.
  22. Yeah I hate to say it but Lapolice has done a terrible job with play calling today. He was very predictable on that last two and out and has done very little by way of play fakes, creative draws and other than the Streveler TD just nothing in his trick bag. I'll actually have to admit Hall did a better job than him today.
  23. Well, yeah likely but if the Als are smart they'll realize they got a QB they can build around if they're willing to invest in him. I mean, why would you not? I guarantee you Pipkin's body of work will not go unnoticed and if the Als don't retain him, he'll get snatched up instantly by BC or SSK and someone will lose their starting QB job there to him. I'd say even though there may be a few years needed to restock the OL and WRs in MTL, the coaching job might get attractive if you know you get to work with Pipkin, if Reed is gone, and if Andrew Wettenhall stops being an a**hole and gets some sense in his small brain.
  24. Well, Sherman should still be gone too cuz he got lucky his silly play not to lose red zone trip didn't end up costing him the game. Plus some of his poorly designed plays handcuff Pipkin But definitely if the Als get fixed it's going to start by getting a new GM.
  25. Well, Jackson wasn't and it was cuz of him that Toronto had a shot at winning this.
