  1. I'm sure we all do but ... Just ain't gonna happen while Kavis Reed continues sticking Willy at the controls.
  2. Bombers need to bring out some heavy blitz packages this game. See if Masoli is willing to dump it off short or will try and wing it downfield and end up getting sacked doing so.
  3. Which is why Trestman should change up his playcalling a bit, unless it's Ricky Ray who's force feeding or passing the ball to Wilder. All I can say is that's getting too predictable out there.
  4. This, someone forgot he caught Strev's first TD pass and had more receptions than Bowman did that week. I think what we've just forgotten is how depleted our WR core was late last year with Darvin Adams out, Thorpe walking out, Lankford stinking and Denmark going AWOL that we've seen now just how deep it is this year. Demski and Woltairsky are making plays and it's changing the dynamic here. I think we got a deep core this year and Lapo's offense is finally running the way it's supposed to. If you're deep at WR and QB, players like Dressler just naturally get fewer targets.
  5. Very true, but I would seriously make sure Nichols uses the full period to recover because not only has Streveler played well enough to warrant it, but we can insure he's at 100℅ and has little chance of reaggravating the knee.
  6. For this year most definitely yes, and probably next year too. It could be interesting though when Streveler's initial contract is up. At that point, would we consider him to have a higher ceiling than Nichols and potentially be the next Calvillo in the league that he should become our starter? Or would Nichols still be too deeply solidified as our franchise face that we'd have him be our permanent starter till he retires? I can't answer those questions right now. But it'd be pretty tough to let the guy we've homegrown go.
  7. Well, I'd be a bit concerned about taking that too far. Should our guys be punished because Willy was getting hammered this last game or be told to stop once they reach him? Should the Calgary defenders be punished for hitting Ricky Ray even if they had no intention of making that outcome happen? I have no place for any dirty/cheap hits on a QB and always hated Craig Butler when he was on that field for that. But I'm starting to get upset with this so called high hit rule. DL are trained to sack QBs, and I believe any move to eliminate sacks from the game is stupid.
  8. Their OL appears to be having issues, and I suspect had Ricky Ray known this would happen he would have chosen to retire instead of going out and taking the punishment he has this season. But also I think Marc Trestman is trying to rely on Wilder too much almost like Lapo does sometimes on Harris. Trestman is a good if not great coach, but he's been going too conservative so far this season and it's killing TO's offense. I think he has to get back to opening his playbook up again to get that team rolling.
  9. Except we don't know what that is and I feel I sold Streveler short by comparing him to Franklin. Franklin's numbers weren't impressive the other night, and by no means am I writing him off or anything. But it could well be the Argos may have been sold a bill of goods that may not be quite what they had hoped for.
  10. Yeah, he definitely doesn't seem to be feeling any pressure as of right now even with Johnny Football right behind him. At least he's now kept TSN quiet on that front.
  11. Well, unless they want to try and hack it in the AFL or XFL (if it's a go), going back to MTL is probably about the only chance they got. Well ... I mean Crompton and Marsh may have decided to move onto other things besides football by now, but Adams might as well take the chance to go back since I see little chance he'll be passed up for Willy again.
  12. There's really no telling what would happen if he did. Some QBs like Jeff Garcia can show the goods for a few years here then go for the big dollars down there and stay long-term. Others like Hank Burris find out it's not for them and come back. It'd probably depend on which team he ends up on and all that.
  13. Yeah, we gotta get refocused because Hamilton is a huge step up from the sad sack Montreal team. May be a good test to see if Streveler gets adversity and has to show how he'll handle it. I expect a close one though.
  14. I am quite sure Lapo has plenty more in his bag of tricks
  15. They definitely can't rush him back into action. I'm sure he can and will recover, but at age 38 soon to be 39 that's going to take longer. Meantime, I wasn't impressed at all with Franklin's play, but the way the Argos as a whole were playing it's probably not something you can make a judgment call on yet.
  16. And even if the NFL didn't work out, there will definitely be other CFL teams coming after him ready to give him a starting job, so his options are wide open.
  17. Crompton's phone is probably ringing right now too
  18. At his age and with his injuries .... I think he might be done or very close to it with that. Really hate seeing it go that way for him, but that was why I thought he would be best served going out on top and calling it quits while still healthy. I think the Franklin era is now beginning in TO.
  19. Back to the topic at hand though ... MTL just really needs to admit that Willy is done. I don't think any one of us wanted him to take abuse last night, or at least I didn't. I thought it was irresponsible of the Als not to sit him and protect him from any injuries that could have happened. Sure you can point the finger at his O-line, but there were definitely sacks he could have avoided by pulling the trigger and not turtling under. I get that you have probably nobodies behind him, but you gotta play those guys because at least they might attempt to elude sacks and gun it downfield. Willy probably should just retire.
  20. It sucks that Burke's legacy will have to be remembered as that bad head coach because he was definitely a damn good defensive coordinator, or at least way better than Richie Hall. Guessing he's probably finished with coaching for good by now though.
  21. How bout certain fans write both a thank you and apology letter to Paul Lapolice for both finding Chris Streveler, and for proving them wrong about his play calling and offensive coordinator skills. Those trick play TDs like the one Darvin threw to Harris oughtta shut up the critics for good.
  22. Argos have now left 10 points off the board, or 9 if you give them that 1. You cannot beat Calgary blowing chances like that.
  23. Yup it definitely looked like Trestman called a FG fake by design there.
  24. What's most crazy is we may actually have 3 QBs on this roster - Nichols, Streveler and Bennett all capable of being starters on CFL teams. Bennett may still be the most unproven out of the 3, but he sure seems to have no jitters at all when he goes out there either.
  25. Man and I thought Mike O'Shea was a big old gambler on special teams. That took the cake there.
