Not wrapping up is considered pretty poor effort by most of the great coaches I've known. Sorry but I make it every linebacker's job to tackle and tackle hard regardless of them taking on blockers or not.

He'll make the real decision after the season is over, after all the dust has settled, and after all the evaluations are given. That's how it's done around here.

While I do believe Thorpe does a better job with defense than Hall, I have heard rumors that he can be a bit of a rogue coach. If he and O'Shea and Walters coexisted with no problem, I'd take him for sure. But if not, it's probably not going to happen.

Regardless of how you dice it up, someone needs to teach him how to wrap up a ball carrier.

Player effort (especially Hurl's as it's been all season) was lacking yes, but soft defensive coach = soft defensive players. Hall's defenses have never ever been known for stinginess, so I say toss him out, bring in the new guy.

Well, since BC didn't help us out against Edmonton last week, it's time for us to help ourselves out and drive home the final win needed to bring home a WSF home appearance. If we get up on them by 2 scores early, I say they're done. While it's already a given no playoffs in BC, win this one and Buono's coffin gets the last nail driven in it. Good thing Dressler will be here taking those defenders off of Harris this time.

If we won that cup in spite of Hall's defense, I'd pink slip him regardless of the outcome. I really believe our ultimate gate will be determined though by how hard we come out swinging in the first playoff game.

I'm guessing once again Hall will be looking like a genius in this upcoming game just cuz of Jennings's bad play. But oh well ... gotta get it cleaned up by playoffs.

The way the Lions lost this last weekend and with that team likely in freefall, I just can't see them getting up the mojo to pull it out this week on the road. Calgary will be interesting. If they do indeed bounceback this week then that too locks up our homefield for the WSF, but if not then it does make a W this Saturday or next a must. I'm with Sweep the leg. I'd rather just go into Calgary in week 20 like a preseason game because if we go in there needing to win when they don't have to, we might be showing them our cards and giving them stuff to prep for in the playoffs. I'd say it's best not to be doing that. Make that game in week 20 a non-issue and then get ready for playoffs.

I'm thinking personally that Medlock probably allowed missing that 61-yarder in the WSF to get to his head and it likely affected his kicking coming into this year. Despite that, I'd still keep him and allow him to get out of it because I don't really see any upgrades in kickers out there right now considering Parades is not going to be leaving Calgary ever.

Ehhh, I don't know. I mean ... obviously most teams will have at least a few guys who are solidified as anchor guys who stick around, but changes in personnel to me aren't enough to give Hall a pass. If anything, it should mean he's getting talent upgrades and should be able to do more and not less.

I can only hope maybe Wade Miller and company are putting the heat on him, or he realizes if this team continues the drought of GC wins he's going to be held liable for it. But as I said, I don't care if he says he's embarrassed because it's merely lipservice. Maybe he should stop his stupid prevent D nonsense and start scheming to make things stingier.

IDK, either Hall or O'Shea has his eggs all too tight in Hurl's basket and I'm not sure he's going to be run off the field just yet. But even so, I just don't trust Hall. He's had stagnant defenses for years with just a flash in the pan in 2007. Sure we can hope if we can beat our WSF opponent, maybe Bo Levi will still be playing sucky enough football that we get through there and to the Grey Cup, but chances are we could be facing Ray and Wilder again in the Grey Cup if that happened. Still ... right now him saying he's embarrassed is just lipservice to me.

Well any coach who pursues a guy like Trent Richardson shoudn't just be written off as not trying to retain him.

He's not the one saying the Bombers are regressing. Even if a team backs into the playoffs, they don't just get to 11-5 2nd in the West by being bad.
