I think most of us agree with this, but the assumption is that Thorpe asked to be released because he didn't like the practice roster demotion, and perhaps didn't like the favoritism Lankford was getting. Us fans don't like that either because of how bad a receiver Lankford is. Nowwww ... that's no excuse for Thorpe quitting. People have to know in this league, esp with ratio management that demotions are gonna happen. Thorpe needed to be patient because I'm certain his time was coming to shine on the field once again. It's just upsetting to us though cuz Lankford is utter crap out there.

Plus I'm sure I've seen Ellingson on that list take some big shots. I'd sorta like a guy with some height and vertical though that could go up and spot a few deep ones. That's an element we're lacking a little of right now.

I just think it would have been worth the risk to keep Unamba and try him out at MLB. To me, while he plays HB it seems like he has LB instincts. High risk, high reward.
