  1. If he's not feeling the heat already to do something drastic with the roster ... he will be soon enough.
  2. They've been doing that the last how many games? Those 2 have both looked beyond awful and you can stick a fork in em. I've never seen Schiltz play but if this game starts getting as bad as their last one did, I'd stick him in to see what he has.
  3. Well, Durant is pretty much done, Als can't bank on Willy being the future, so ..... That leaves Matthew Schiltz to go. Gotta think you might as well see what he has even if he's as raw as Lindley. You never know, he might be able to pull a stunner like Tanner Marsh did a few years ago against BC.
  4. I believe Doug Flutie was that old when he came to the league
  5. Better word maybe durable. I mean maybe not Mike Reilly durable but just a bit less of a sitting duck if you will. Lindley to me, as Matt Dunnigan pointed out is just too raw yet to grasp the nuances of the CFL. If he's coachable and a coach is willing to invest in him, he may be able to get it. But ... Gonna be tough to find a market outside of MTL and Hamilton.
  6. Wonder if anyone called Hamilton in upset, and if the tabbies just punched our playoff ticket.
  7. Umm ... When your 2 starting QBs go down at this point in a season, you're not typically going to have too many other options. Unless you think Brock Jensen had it.
  8. Well I think he's a bit tougher and has a bit more arm strength. But they both coincidentally played for the Cardinals before coming up north
  9. He was there for a few months and let go pretty quickly, so it's been us doing the developing of him.
  10. So Jeffcoat's forced fumble doesn't count?
  11. Well, that there is an example of what happens when you roll with a raw QB and don't develop him first.
  12. On another note, Davis showing he's got some skills. Loved that deep throw. No he doesn't have Franklin stock yet, but looks like he's progressing and may be able to operate the controls when called on. Hopefully not for SSK though. I will say though, he might be the homegrown QB we been looking for.
  13. And that there on Campbell's challenge is what I mean by shoe on the other foot.
  14. On a big positive note, DL stepping up in place of Westerman and getting us kick-started. Booyah
  15. Boy I don't know about that call on the UR on the sack on Matt Nichols. I mean that flag there kinda disturbs me. I am all for eliminating dirty hits especially to QBs and for at least letting defensive players know they will be punished for looking to take out an opposing QB. But where does it end? I mean last I checked, DLmen were paid to sack the QB, cleanly yes but ... I don't know I don't think that guy had any ill intent other than to do his job there. Im concerned cuz if that shoe is on the other foot ... What are we gonna do?
  16. Even so, man I'ma say something that is not going to play well at all here, but we get to forget about the NHL cuz bomber football is the real deal. Booyah. I know, that's just a captain obvious statement, but man it just seems like it was only yesterday that the MO in Bomber land was once labor day and banjo bowl were over, Bomber football was over. Now we're in a real race that can put the Jets on hold till January.
  17. I'm getting so riled up I need it to be kickoff already.
  18. I'm so ready for Friday to get here already. Seems like it's been a month since the Bombers were on the field. Time to hit that 9-3 record and secure a playoff spot.
  19. So cutting Clarence Denmark, letting him go to SSK and then bringing him back doesn't fit that thing?
  20. This would seem most likely. BTW, I don't hate Ryan Lankford or nothing, but I really thought TJ Thorpe had a lot more upside than him. I always feel like you can never be too deep at WR considering Dressler has been injured twice now during seasons with us.
  21. I'm not taking the news of Westerman's season-ending status lightly or anything. I am concerned that down the stretch here such as the playoffs or Grey Cup should we get that far ... we could very well need him and be hurt without him. But for this game I think regardless of him being out Lindley is still going to struggle. Hopefully Chris Randle can bait him into some bad throws that go the distance the other way.
  22. Yes LeFevour's skills have always been to be the wildcard package QB. This is how he was used early on in Hamilton and it's how Lapolice is using him now. He's had his stints though of multiple starting games filling in for Collaros, playing for a brief period in MTL and then backing up Ray in Toronto. In all cases, he dug the teams in holes record-wise and has never been sought after as a prohibitive starter. I believe we have him here so he can do the dirty work instead of needing Davis to do it, but I think sooner or later Davis will have his chance to show whether he's a boom or bust.
  23. Actually I have heard rumors of local interests in them. But old man W seems to be too stubborn to part with the goods. I do wonder though if there's any clauses in the Als' charter with Montreal that would forbid them from becoming a public shareholder-owned team like us or the Riders.
  24. Yup, and he certainly struggled finding a coach to work with once Trestman left. So long as Trestman stays in Toronto, I don't think the Argos will have to worry about him pulling stunts like that. I really think the Wettenhalls should sell the Als though. Don't get me wrong, they've done a lotta good over the years. I certainly respect anyone who's willing to sacrifice their own paychecks to make sure the fan community can keep their team. But at some point you can't keep bungling hires in your front office, running coaches out of town and just overall tanking the team without suffering from fan apathy ... at some point. I just think there's a good case to make that MTL needs a new owner.
  25. I did not know this. While I still don't think there is a QB plague at all going around here, or at least no more than there's ever been, I'm a bit disturbed that the Esks medical staff didn't do a thorough check for concussions here. Most other football leagues and colleges are implementing serious concussion protocols to make sure that players aren't suffering worse brain injuries down the road from not sitting out when they should be, and even if I don't like Reilly throwing any TD passes against us, I still hope he doesn't have longterm effects lasting from taking things like that.
