  1. The only way I'd see us losing this game is if Nichols and the offense threw an absolute stink bomb out there and allowed Lindley multiple opportunities to make a win happen. I just don't see that though with how I think we'll utilize Harris and Flanders to wear out the D as has been our MO. If we get this game going into a track meet, I do not believe Lindley has the experience nor the toolset to be able to keep it close.
  2. Point is Reed should not have been hired as GM in the first place there. It may not be protocol to fire a GM after year one, but you're only going to see that franchise tank worse and prolong the inevitable, especially if Reed now that he has the coach's hat refuses to give that up too. As I pointed out before, Popp got lazy and was putting old timers in big roster spots on this team and sure, you might need a year or two to fix it, but what Kavis is doing is only exacerbating the problem. If he doesn't have plans to dump Durant, Willy and scout better o-line prospects as well as get a head coach who he's committed to give a long enough rope to (and I don't think he does), he should be fired by season's end.
  3. He was briefly hurt but returned to action this last game. But even so, his decision-making and overall play just declined a lot this year, other than against that hapless Montreal team. Bottom line, I don't see any quote on quote lack of competitiveness in this league this year, nor a depletion in quality of play anymore than I've ever seen. 2014 was a much worse year, but that's because this league goes in cycles. You'll have years where offenses are shooting it out and lighting it up, and then years where defenses are taking over the show. That's the way it always goes though.
  4. I'm trying to figure out who exactly is losing starting QBs right and left besides the Redblacks. I mean, Glenn was out this last game but not with anything real serious that the league must do to protect, just simply a throwing hand injury and he'll be back this next game. Game was still a 27-19 score, plenty competitive to me. The TigerCats didn't lose their QB to injury, he's just been in the tank this year, but so has his O-line. Instead of needing the league to protect him, maybe Hamilton should get a GM whose going to invest in O-line upgrades to do so. Bottom line though they just simply wanted to stick Masoli in cuz they lost faith in Collaros, not cuz ole Zac was hurt. Montreal doesn't have any QB injuries, they just have awful QBs. Instead of needing the league to protect them, maybe the Als should get smart and fire Kavis Reed and bring someone in who can actually scout good QBs and not run prospects like Vernon Adams off of his team. Not the refs or the league's fault they put the bank on broken down Durant and Drew Willy. Edmonton has also had their injuries, but Mike Reilly is not among them so ... don't know what they need to do there, and the Stamps don't have any injuries. I suppose you could say Lulay in BC is one of those injured, but he came into this season as the backup anyway and got injured cuz he resorted back to his reckless ways. I think Buono took a gamble on Jennings and it backfired.
  5. Well, that should be a given considering Rick Campbell's going to have to call a ton of running plays just to give Lindley Brohm any confidence. Therefore, Richie Hall should have the smarts to load the box and make him beat us with his arm.
  6. Well, we should have a treat this Friday with our guys back in town, and interested to hear the injury report on Tuesday on O'Shea's coaches show. Maybe Wild makes his return? Also, anyone know what the Redblacks QB situation is coming into this game? I'm just curious as to whether or not they'll be starting Ryan Lindley. If they are, I think we can take a W to the bank in this one cuz I seen that guy play before and he's an equal to Brian Brohm. If Trevor Harris is back, we may have our hands a little more full with a Redblacks team that's starting to gain traction. Tate is a little less than Harris, but he has enough experience and is enough of a gamer that I wouldn't take facing him too lightly, even if he's not in Calgary anymore. But I hope it's Lindley we face.
  7. Ahhh I stand corrected, but yes, Claybrooks will throw the kitchen sink at them.
  8. I don't think that'll do much good though. If BC can shut him and that offense down on the road, so can CGY.
  9. Surely nobody though would let Kavis Reed come back as GM next year. I'd pull the trigger and ship him and nearly everyone on staff out at the end of this season and start fresh if I had any plans to rebuild the crater out there in in MTL.
  10. Perhaps I shoulda named this the Kavis Reed hangman noose edition
  11. That looks like his offense out there anyway. Man that Kavis Reed is a clown.
  12. Probably depends on how well the Fresno St Bulldogs defense does this year. If they look as ferocious as the units he had up in Hamilton, he'll probably be staying down there a while and possibly getting an even bigger gig with the Texas Longhorns or UCLA Bruins. If it doesn't work out, I'm sure he'd be offered a job back up here to fall back on again.
  13. Bridge has had a few flashes, but I'd be curious to see how well he did going up against Devone Claybrooks's defense before forming an opinion of him. I'll leave it up to our coaches to decide what they think about Davis. What I just wish fans would realize is that what he's doing now is the way you're supposed to get QBs reared up by having a real competent starter operating the controls and giving the younger guy a better view on how to do it. This is what Brink, Elliott and Goltz did not have and what most of the Als QBs they cycled through after McPherson did not have, or at least very little time to learn from Calvillo. I just think it's no mistake that Franklin has the stock he has because he saw how Mike Reilly did it and learned from him.
  14. Well, the TiCats dropped three picks, a couple of which coulda gone for TDs. Also had 7 two and outs. I'd say SSK won that game more because the bad Masoli showed up tonight.
  15. As much as I hate Johnny Football, I'd say even he coulda scored from that 1 yardline.
  16. Gable doesn't have the force of Andrew Harris
  17. Shoulda called a crossing route on Masoli's side there. Damn those Ridirts got a lucky break tonight.
  18. Chris Jones picked the wrong play to challenge
  19. damn, bad screen pass call
  20. Dumb move there crapsoli
  21. Hecht done did bad this time.
  22. And it's standing.
  23. Gotta lose this one Chris Jones.
