  1. This is a winner right here. If anyone should be fired, it's him and the complete front office staff due to the chicken**** garbage they gave the Montreal coaching crew to work with. It's like I said, Jim Popp is sitting in his office in Toronto just laughing at how bad this has gotten over there. I say that owner needs to sell this team because he's lost his marbles.
  2. Umm, he holds the title of Asst GM which means if Reed had got canned he woulda been next in line to run the FO.
  3. I'd love to capitalize on this major Montreal fumble by dumping Richie Hall and bringing Thorpe in. He surely could at least make this D more stingier than what we're working with right now, and would have a chance to make Montreal pay for their blunder.
  4. Either way, it's a very dumb move and just goes to show that Montreal has now turned into the 2013 Blue Bomber Board of Directors show. And I don't say that because I'm a defender of Chapdelaine or think he's a good head coach. He'll probably be heading to Hamilton or Toronto next to work as Trestman or Jones's OC where I think he's better. But Kavis Reed sucks as a GM and he's not going to fix this mess as a HC, especially not after canning Thorpe who was the one good coordinator on that team. Montreal is officially the CFL dumpster fire now, and if I'm an NFL cut I'm looking to go anywhere but there. Mr Wetenhall, you might want to consider selling the team cuz this is embarrassing to our league.
  5. Well, in case you forgot, Joe Mack is in fact there and has an open door to Reed and the Wetenhall offices so ..... what do you think?
  6. Yeah unlike Willy, Zac probably could hit the reboot button with another team provided he was given a better O-line and receivers to once again throw to. I'm thinking if the Argos aren't quite able to get a deal done for Franklin, Collaros might be willing to head back there if a takeover for Ray plan is put in place.
  7. Well, technically I believe it was Chapdelaine that gave up on Adams Jr, but I was hearing that he was grumbling his way out of Montreal, which whether that had to do with Chap, or Reed's ridiculous negotiations, I'm not sure. Still though, Reed's doing little to supplant anything good in that Montreal offense right now, and if I was part of the Als big brass, I'd consider terminating his contract before this season is up .... Well or not considering the guy next in line is Joe Mack. I'll tell ya .... someone is very clueless up there in Molson's offices.
  8. Of course he didn't accomplish much with him cuz he always got hurt. Pierce, Brink, Jyles, Elliot ... every single one of them are below Nichols talent. QB does make a difference. I would think most people should know that after the switch and subsequent letting go of Drew Willy last year. I'm going to hammer this home, that what Lapo did as a HC 4-5 years ago has no bearing on what he's doing now.
  9. This is Mike O'Shea's call. Personally I think he trusted Medlock's leg could hit it in the BC WSF last year but unfortunately he didn't. But it is MOS's call whether or not to go for it on 3rd down or not. As to what he did as HC, I already explained he was working with mediocre to bad QBs. Not a single one of those guys even come close to Nichols' talent. Sure I thought he was a bit too conservative at times as a HC, but I still say he got some overachievements out of Brink and Elliot whose careers were short-lived otherwise.
  10. What wasted potential? Care to enlighten us all on that?
  11. It wasn't only that, he got saddled with a QB who couldn't complete a season on the field, another one who had a noodle arm, and another who liked to chuck it up in high coverage areas. As a head coach if you're having to juggle QBs like that, it's going to detract mightily from what you can do on the field. Let him focus on calling the plays and give him a QB who can pull all the levers like Nichols, and his offenses can compete with Dave Dickensons.
  12. Well as we don't have a game to talk about this week, I'm wondering what the chances are that Montreal would fire a GM before his first year is up and how much money they'd have to eat to do that. Also, now with this whole talk of Collaros wanting out of Hamilton and Masoli now the guy, I also wonder whether he's salvageable on another team, or if he's become Willy damaged.
  13. Honestly, there is not one opponent left on this schedule other than Calgary who is not beatable for us, and even Calgary has to lose at some point. Out of these next three, Edmonton is probably the most likely we'd lose to if anyone because they will likely have a few players back who we didn't face against last time, and we haven't swept em in years. Also, just as their 7-game win streak couldn't last forever, they're too talented to have that losing streak continue on as well, so we might unfortunately catch them when they're due for a win. Ottawa ... well I wouldn't take them for granted, but Tate has looked a bit rusty and doesn't nearly have the supporting cast he had around him in Calgary (other than Sinopli). Hamilton just had a couple East teams come in and give them some easy burgers in these last 2. Masoli has turned the ball over a lot against us though, and I think these next two games they'll be returning back to their losing ways against better west opponents.
  14. Don't suppose this new ball was copied in any way from the New England Patriots' balls ...
  15. I ripped Popp plenty for putting his own interests above the team and deciding he needed to coach em when he should have been focused on just being a GM doing a rebuilding job bringing in young talent instead of grabbing old well-past-their-time players which in part caused MTL's current debacle. But at least now he has Trestman back, is doing one game better than his old team, and so long as Trestman doesn't walk out on him, I don't think he's going to try to wear 2 hats in Toronto. Problem is, the Wetenhalls and anyone else firing Popp is just as bad because they should know better than to hire a dud like Reed to take over. So while Popp had his blame in this, the Montreal BOD is just as bad and as much to blame for this, if not more so, so yeah, Popp can laugh a little.
  16. Well yes Calvillo retiring knocked em off from being an elite unit, but they still were able to make the playoffs the next two years. They've shown no patience though with developing QBs, and Vernon Adams leaving and being stuck where they are right now is really making that place an unattractive place to play. They've lived off of a past reputation of being the place where most former college or NFL stars would have picked to land should they find themselves looking at opportunity north of the border, but I think they're going to be looking to stay away from this dumpster fire if wholesale changes aren't made soon.
  17. He may be, but he does have a bit of a point. The funny thing is I was just thinking of Crompton the other day and thinking how much worse the Als got after he left. And yes, I almost forgot that Reed on top of his other little antics had brought Joe Mack in. I'll tell ya, at least for as bad as things are in Hamilton, at least Austin is no longer embarrassing them on the sideline. Right now this circus has gone full tilt and Jim Popp just has to be laughing at the Wetenhalls.
  18. Well, given that Lapolice has been pretty consistently good here, I don't think that's a bad thing. Hall on the other hand ... well it was good to see us generate some turnovers to finally put the riders on their back this last game, but that there is also a problem that when this D doesn't generate the turnovers, opponents have no fear of throwing anywhere on our field.
  19. I might be in the minority here but I'd like to try and keep Davis and develop him as insurance. In this league, having a reliable backup just can't be stated enough, and I'm not certain the Blue brought LeFevour in here for the long-term. Obviously I hope Nichols never is out for any significant period, but unfortunately it's always a possibility in this league. I'd say if Davis does want to showcase his talent to one day becoming a starter on a team, keep him here so when the time does come, he can showcase what he has to any interested parties because right now I don't think too many teams are going to be taking a heavy risk on him.
  20. Even if he hadn't gone down, they still don't win with Nichols on a tear today.
  21. I'd say this game today should bring them back to reality
  22. Only thing smoke n mirrors right now was the Ridirts 3 wins
  23. And that'll be the bell
  24. I'll say this much, Nichols is cementing a legacy in the Winnipeg legends showcase
