Well to be fair, him getting benched this last game did seem to help our D play a "Little" bit better. It's still a long way from what our friends in Calgary got going, but it's a tad better. What I am afraid of is that weaknesses like Hurl and Carmichael are symptoms of a bigger problem known as Richie Hall. Make no mistake, MOS's loyalty and strengths far outweigh his weaknesses, but I'm afraid he's hitched his wagon a little too tight to Hall. I believe bend but don't break is the wrong way to go about defense. Now, in case anyone was wondering, I have nothing personal against Richie Hall, nor do I wish him to fail. All I believe in is just calling it as I see it and holding a coach accountable when he must be. Also on the other site there is a poster who is so in bed with Richie Hall he believes the littlest, and I mean the smallest minute criticisms of Hall should be shut down in Cuban like fashion. I mean, Castro himself could not have had all criticisms of government censored in a better way than what that childish poster wants. So just if I get a little too tough on Richie, it's not him personally, blame that poster.

This game's going to be the perfect ending capped to the Labor Day weekend. Big college football game on Saturday with Bama and Florida State, and then this one on Sunday. Couldn't script it any better.

The CGY Offense last night had a less than perfect showing, in fact only scored as many points as we did and against a bad defense. DeVone Claybrooks's defense is the perfect example of a unit that always is up for the task and gives up nothing, and is why the Stamps just don't lose much.

On offense with an injured Mitchell maybe not, but on defense they don't give anything easy. Pretty damn good open field tacklers that team is.

Only criticism I'd have of him is he's started reverting back to that reckless running stuff that ended up getting him those broken shoulders and collar bones a couple years ago as I saw on display in Ottawa today. And as per TSN Twitter: Jonathon Jennings will not be making anymore starts for BC this year.

Hurl's certainly missed a few big tackles, Knox looked a little better in this last game I thought. I wouldn't be surprised though if it was Richie Hall who made the call to bring Roc Carmichael up here though. And he plays the corners way off, leaves em isolated and puts no deep safeties out there on the deep balls.

Perhaps he was trying to 1-up O'Shea on the player loyalty factor with that. I mean, we did give Willy quite a long rope here.

Well ... maybe I should rephrase my last post a little bit. The way the Redblacks were playing D in that 4th quarter is a perfect example of why bend but don't break D is bad and why Hall's system must be scrapped if we don't win the Grey Cup this year.
