  1. Are you talking about the Bears or Bombers? Well both, but if you saw that game last night it was about as close to resembling the 2012 LDC as anything I've seen in the NFL.
  2. Yeah, even on that post-game show I was listening on, they say he talks like he's a decent coordinator, in the words of Chicago Bears fans, some of which even admitted "he knows football" but were saying whatever messages he seems to be trying to get as a head coach to the players are not getting there. I guess where I as a fan know what he can do, you just wonder why it is that he was able to connect with the players in Montreal when he was here, because obviously he did and his philosophies and the way he ran the team there resonated well with those players, but obviously they aren't working in Chicago. Is it more that it's just such a huge cultural difference between the two leagues and in specific the city of Montreal? I mean no question the environments between the two leagues and definitely between the two cities are hugely different. But is it that, or is it just more that some of these players who Lovie Smith was able to control fairly well or at least somewhat manage, have just gotten out of control and just never wanted to back Trestman from the moment he came in? I mean, I've never seen all the insides of a coach and players locker room, but I gotta believe in order for a coach to succeed regardless of what he knows or what he's like that the players have to be supporting him to give him a chance, and it seems like right now they are unwilling to do that period, and that can't all be blamed on Marc, those players make conscious choices to do that or not.
  3. Yeah that is too bad, Jay Cutler is like a tumor, and the Bear fans are angry with their owners and GM over that 22 million dollar contract signing he got, which is 5 million more than what the Packers pay Rodgers. And you can't blame them, he has lost his own team and the **** has hit the fan there. What's really angering bear fans though, and this is what they're saying is that Trestman keeps saying this team is having good weeks of practice and it seems like it's happening every week, but now for 2 weeks in a row or something like that the Bears defense, which has been regarded as one of the toughest in the NFL throughout its existence, has given up 50 plus points in both of those games. And that pretty much set the bear fans over the edge, inasmuch as they were saying they wanted Trestman fired in their own words "Tomorrow". And, when the media gets that crazy about bagging you, that's a very bad sign. And I literally heard Bear fans talk about showing up in that stadium with bags on their heads, which is something that has never been said among those fans ever that I recall. Personally, I would hope that Trestman could get it turned around, but the way those players are acting and doing their thing, they've tuned him out. It's gotten to a point where some of their veterans have taken that point. How things have gotten this bad so fast for him, I don't know, but I think it's a couple of things. I love Trestman as a coach personally, the legacy he built in his time up here in the CFL is amazing, and he deserves to keep on coaching, he's a great man and I loved seeing what he did even as a bomber fan for that Alouettes offense. If he ever came back up to Canada again, I think he should get another coaching gig, specifically if things ended with Campbell in Ottawa next year, I think he'd do a good job getting that organization on track. But I do think one small thing he did wrong, and this doesn't detract anything, but I know when Reinebold came aboard with Montreal a few years back their good defense kind of went to crumbs. 1 thing he has not done a good job of in Chicago is maintain a good defense. Last year, after the Bears were plagued with bad offense, Trestman came in and elevated the game there, fans were happy with what they saw in that department, but their defense which had been highly ranked under Lovie Smith fell down a few notches. They signed Jared Allen and Lamar Houston this last offseason but that apparently has done nothing to fix it. So his defensive issues seem to have caught up with him a little bit lately. I also wonder, and I know he's had plenty of history in the NFL and isn't a stranger to the culture there, but I wonder if it's just that Chicago has its own culture that he just simply does not understand or is able to connect with the players with. They say they feel like he's a smart guy but they feel he's not connecting. That's about the gist of what I'm getting.
  4. I didn't either, but listen to that link I posted on there and I'm telling you, those Bear fans and radio hosts are barbecuing him with no mercy. It's sad, but those Chicago fans are brutal.
  5. http://player.radio.com/listen/station/670-the-score Bears fans are getting extremely angry with him, so much that the **** has hit the fan in Chicago. In honesty, they probably didn't follow much of his CFL legacy to know the respectable person he is and I feel bad that he's getting dumped on that bad, but man. I don't know that he's gonna come back to the CFL, but if nobody else in the NFL takes him, it could happen.
  6. Your comments remind me of TV's Pee Wee (Herman's) Playhouse before he jerked off in a porn theatre. I just call it as I see it man. No hiding the truth. No, there's comments & there's just... stupid. Like the bomber coach bashers on here. Some of the stuff you say or the threads you start, what is the alcohol of choice when you start them? Hey, I just call it as I see it, man. No hiding the truth. You think I'm crazy???? You should go over to the CFL main forum, there are fans over there advocating the Redblacks dump Campbell and hire Bellefeuille. Lol, that's not coming from me at all, that's Tiger Cat fans who are saying it too lol.
  7. If the Riders had lost tonight, they would be 9-9. They split the season series with B.C. and they won the point differential by 9 points. Am I missing something? Would they not have finished third even if they lost today? Something like that. Moot point anyway though since they won. So ..... BC vs Montreal and Saskatchewan vs Edmonton next week.
  8. The word was SSK was saving Durant for the playoff. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Either SSK or BC is gonna get beat down in Montreal in the East Semifinal.
  9. Just an FYI Hamilton has to win by 8 points or more to win the division since Montreal took their first matchup by 7 earlier this season. They can win by less than that and take second. I stand corrected
  10. Grigsby has had 1, just one good run of 45 yards since joining the TiCats and that was in garbage time vs Ottawa last week. This Montreal defense has been lights out the entire 2nd half and I don't see that changing up front this game. Even though this isn't a bomber game, I'm loving what's coming here. The Grey Cup is almost here, let's see who takes it.
  11. In Hamilton - It's all or nothing for the Tiger Cats. Win today and they will win the East, but lose and they will be eliminated. For Montreal, a win today would cap off a huge season of turnarounds for team that seemed all but lost midway though the season, yet they've now surpassed the 500 mark and would get an improbable 10 wins by winning today. Hell of a game coming here. In Edmonton - What do the Esks want to do? Do they want to go into conservative mode and sit their starters and prepare to play the Riders next week, or do they want to send the men in green out east should Darrian Durant come back next week? Either way they'll be hosting the east semifinal to one of those 2 teams.
  12. People are bagging on this coaching staff when you need to win a game, and you have a QB who can't make a decision to throw the ball if his life depended on it. My thing is this - best players should play. It proven that Marve is the 'best' QB we have, yet he sat on the bench. I'm not talking 'best' for the future, I"m talking best in the here and now. Injury, shell shock, whatever, it doesn't matter, Willy proved he couldn't get it done. Marve would not have necessarily won the B.C. game (I personally think he would have but that's an opinion, I have no way of knowing what would have actually happened) but he would have given us the best chance to win that game. The very least, like when Kuale had FOUR unnecessary roughness penalties called on him, O'Shea should have pulled Willy even for a few series just to calm him down, let him gather himself, especially if Marve went out and completed a few instead of just standing there and getting sacked. Just to show Willy that 'hey, there are open guys out there' or 'hey, it's ok to trust in your receivers to make a play'. THAT'S what I was complaining about. And the last game we played proved my point Yes and this is all very true. I have no issues with any of what you just said. But I also think in much the same way Rick Campbell could be doing that with his team and doesn't, and I think he gets too much of a pass just because of that old "expansion team" rhetoric which should not fly. It doesn't matter if you coach an expansion team or not, if you're a bad game manager, you're a bad game manager period and nothing can fix that. The Redblacks in their inaugural year were not heading to the playoffs, but 5 wins should not have been too much for them, especially considering the whole rest of the east was in the crapper the first half of the season.

  14. You got this wrong. So what? Hufnagel wanted the win, fine he got it. Coulda played his cards either way though and the Stamps would still be hosting the west final.

  16. And just like that the Calgary Stampeders backups with the go-head lead. It's early yet but I'm surprised at the lacklusterness I'm seeing out of BC. I suppose they don't want to play Edmonton again next week but they're headed to the execution chamber in Montreal anyway, so doesn't seem there's any point to throw this game.
  17. 3-3 in the dome. Wonder if Moniz Bryant will play at all tonight?
  18. I suspect Calgary will be sitting most of their starters for this one, they already are the West hosts for the final, no need to win this one.
  19. Who do you want the 2-16 RedBlacks to be playing in a meaningless game? Henry Burris? Joey Elliot? Why not give O'Brien the reps? Cuz he's an int throwing machine and he just got lucky they didn't call fumble on that one. No defender was even near him on that wobbler. Man, not even Jason Boltus was this bad.
  20. good grief and now he's challenging a PI that's not even close? SMH
  21. Man and people want to bag on this coaching staff for staying patient with Willy, yet they think Campbell is no less stubborn and should be defended for sticking with O'Brien. Ridiculous
  22. I'd consider it a miracle if Ottawa fans could put up with 5 points averaged all year As well as Rick Campbell's new version of Mike Kelly's double QB system. That's what this is reminding me of.
  23. way to go Campbell, way to put Justin Goltz 2.0 in there
  24. Yeah I don't get this. I don't think he's quite as good a backup as Collaros was last year, but the gap between him and Ricky is still much narrower than the gap between Durant and Sunseri. Plus how many points exactly do the Argos need to win this game? 15? 17? 20? Gonna say Argos 20 Redblacks 3 is the final in this one.
