  1. Well, those plays that take longer to develop seemed to be getting met with the Argos blitzes, O-line wasn't picking them up, sometimes from being outnumbered, this I assume had a few things to do with that.
  2. I don't know why the general feeling around this forum this last week was that the Argos were just gonna go down easy. They had extra time to prepare and after getting ripped apart by us week 1, they weren't about to let that happen again. Sure their O has had limited targets with all those injuries, but it's not like Ray wouldn't find some chemistry eventually with a few guys. The O-line is in need of some help for sure, Willy keeps taking the hits and while nearly every QB does, these are starting to get dangerous and if something doesn't happen to protect him better, he won't be making it through this season. Keeping him healthy enough to play all the way through is vital to keeping the continuity here. That being said, I'm hoping this little bit of rest period we got here will be a help to get some players like Nick Moore back in the lineup or somebody else to try and lengthen the weapons we got. I'm also not so sure about keeping Romby Bryant around either. Sure he probably won't fumble like that every game, but I don't feel as though he's on the big playmaking level he once was, hence why the Stampeders let him go. Also, I know Watson started this game and scored early, but he seems to have been used limitedly most of the way after. We got the awful als next, and given their level of dysfunction, this oughtta be a fairly easy win, but our stinkfest 3-15 team took two wins against their 8-10 team last year, and it wouldn't be impossible for them to steal one against us either. Anyways, not pushing the panic button or anything, I think a win period will get the team back in better spirits, but they definitely need one now.
  3. https://streamup.com/Bombers-at-Argos Last game, this wasn't great quality but saw some tests being done last night with the streaming and it looks like a lot has been fixed. So, for any who need it, live stream over here.
  4. I say yes, all this news coming out of Montreal is getting crazier by the story, and I'd say Als fans have one man to blame for this. This is 100% owner Robert Wetenhall's fault. Why? Because he pulled all kinds of bogus moves since Trestman left. 1. He was the one who brought in Dan Hawkins last year and set him up to fail. Jim Popp had to bail out the team in the wake of that one and the Calvillo retirement. 2. He cut Popp out of the shot to remain on as head coach and sent Doug Berry and the competent coaching staff packing. He also waited until late February to hire Higgins out of a pool of leftovers. This in turn brought about a dysfunction between him and Popp. This also brought about a bad timing with Worman and Higgins and has caused the OC debacle we've all witnessed. 3. Rumor is, Mr W planned to fire Popp if things went in the crapper before the year was up and give Higgins both the HC and GM title, but after Higgins fired Worman, he decided against that and to extend Popp for an extra 3 years. But the bottom line, Popp at least as a HC was able to get the most out of his players. It's funny how everyone talks about how bad Smith and Marsh are at QB, yet how come they both were winning games last year and nobody was seeing all these crazy inaccuracy issues that've been milling around out there? You also weren't seeing receivers running faulty routes and missed assignment blocking on the line. The answer - coaching plain and simple. The Als are in a coaching mess and it's Rob Wetenhall's fault. If I'm a fan, I'm thinking stop buying tickets thereby pulling the money from the guy's pocket and see if that'll force him to sell the team to a more competent owner or sell it to local stock holders so the franchise becomes community-owned like the Green Bay Packers.
  5. Couldn't open the link.
  6. I don't believe Garcia has any experience being an offensive coordinator either, and it doesn't matter how good of a QB he was, OC is a completely different ball game. Yeah they could fire or demote Dinwiddie, but then Garcia has to come in and use the same terminology, yet likely befuddle the players even more, so might as well just keep the continuity going as long as you're gonna roll the boulders down the hill.
  7. It did occur to me since I did see the title of QB coach still attached to Dinwiddie, perhaps he was biting off more than he could chew trying to play both OC and QB coach, and Garcia is merely lightening the load for him so he can focus in solely on his X's and O's of the playbook. I still don't think it's going to make much difference in their Offensive production though, guy isn't ready yet. But who knows, perhaps now he can work more with the Don on some better schemes and assignment management.
  8. For cripes sake, can we just leave Woods as the main man please? He may not have taken one to the house yet but at least he's consistent and doesn't fumble the ball. Already saw Cotton field a few earlier on in the year and it didn't look good. Guy's a good RB with possibly even more power out of the backfield than Grigsby, but not a good returner.
  9. Now that would be funny.
  10. The way I see it, the Als are right where we are last year. A mix of bad coaching and bad QBing. To be fair, and I'm by no means letting Troy Smith off the hook, he definitely has shown no ability to perform under dire circumstances, and even he admits these struggles have been on him, but this coaching situation, and especially bad going with a completely inexperienced unready OC, has really killed the Als O this year. Similarly to how we reached the end of the Buck Pierce experiment, I think the Als have done the same with Troy Smith now, and once the year is over, I expect he'll be gone. Right now, I think they're going to see if Brink and Marsh have any future for them, the first of which I know will be no. The second, well Marsh has a gun of an arm and I'd guess if he was lucky enough to remain around Montreal as a backup, a competent or good coach could make something of him, but I don't get the feeling the Als org exactly wants him. Crompton? I don't buy the hype on this guy, never saw him amount to anything at UT, and hardly see a pro QB in him. I mean who knows, maybe he just hasn't had the right coach to get him going, but these current coaches certainly are no upgrade to what he's had in the past. Where the Als real problems are coming from as I've addressed before are up in the administration wing between Jim Popp and Rob Wetenhall. I was over at the Als forum, happened to read one fan who was talking about this say what he thought was going on. He said, what he figured was that after Popp wouldn't let go of his coaching title, hence the late hire of Tom Higgins, Wetenhall put him on a short leash with possibly even plans to fire him if the season went in the shitter, and then give Tom Higgins two hats as coach and GM. Problem was, then Higgins botched that Worman situation, in which case Wetenhall decided to extend Popp should an even bigger mess follow in which they would need a house cleaning. But all that to say, tension exists in Montreal right now, and Popp and Wetenhall have a lot to answer for this.
  11. Figured you guys would see I was just trying to be a bit funny, obviously the Als are not going to be pulling these moves, unless Popp really has something up his sleeve to make it happen despite their impossible owner. But the Hebert thing was kind of a funny to say they would do it to protect John Cornish lol. Now ... on a serious note, all trade rumors or anything crazy aside, the Als may actually be considering something to get Tate with. I mean, I think the Stamps are gonna roll with Mitchell from here on out, or so they seem to be indicating, even though they may not want to lose Tate as a backup given his experience. Thing is if he wants to be a starter with no caveat, Montreal is probably the first team going after him. His price may be high, but given what they currently have, you wonder if he's worth it, or are his past injury problems too much of a Buck Pierce type risk. Obviously, the Als have way more than just a QB problem, and if they don't clean the coaching and administration mess up soon, adding in even a good to great QB if one happens to come their way, won't fix their team. But, with Smith and the other current QBs, they're likely either heading out or getting demoted to backup by this year's end if they're lucky, so I don't see what the Als would lose by going after probably the best current backup who could be a starter.
  12. Have you ever seen Peyton Manning take a sack? he never gets hit cuz he goes down when all other options are gone... it's called being smart... That's blasphemy to even compare Peyton with old Glenn.
  13. Oh dang, just saw he was back on the AR. I still say the Argos win though because he will be rusty.
  14. Well, it's no secret that the Bombers gotta quickly turn around and survive a rested and prepared Argos team in the Sky Dome, and this will be no gimme. But the big questions are what will happen meantime in the rest of the league? Edmonton at Ottawa - Looks like someone needs to call up DeVone Claybrooks and hire him as Defensive Coordinator and get some blitzes involved to throw at Reilly if they want to have a chance. Edmonton wins big though I say. Calgary at Hamilton - Gonna call a Tiger Cat upset here. They keep coming so close to winning, and last time they held the stamps to only 10 points. Calgary does keep getting the job done, but I'm feeling a real loss coming here in McMaster for the Stamps. Awful Als at Sask - Ok ok, here's the solution, fire Ryan Dinwiddie and promote Erik Campbell to OC. Make a trade to Calgary, Kyries Hebert for Drew Tate and stick him in at QB. Make Jeff Garcia the QB coach. Run Screen passes every other play but just make sure to run fast and let the whole O-line get down the field on the linebackers before throwing them. I mean, there's gotta be some egg in the basket the Awfuls can pull to beat the greenies right? BC at Toronto - BC's bad streak on the east coast is going to continue I think. Kevin Glenn's had some magic going in the last 2 games but that means he's going to have a bad game here. Plus expect the Argos to load the box on Harris.
  15. I may have poorly worded or didn't maybe know exactly how to title it. I guess I was wondering how many practice days O'Shea was going to take with this next week, whether the guys were gonna get a day off and have limited practice in 2 days or so, or whether he was going to try and immediately hit the road with the team to get extra practice in Toronto, or what the strategy was in preparing for a short week. Trying to figure out what the best way to go about it is when you've got a short amount of time between your loss and needing to bounce back right away. Just hope the guys can get a little fired up to play after dropping that close but disappointing game.

  17. Botched hold on a FG cost them the win against Calgary. Bad gun snap on the 2 yard line cost them a TD last night. Costly penalties & turnovers. The Cats have a suicide tendency to do stupid things at critical times. Is that just bad luck or do some players have character issues that Austin has to weed out? This is happening too much for it just to be a coincidence or an isolated event. Some players choke under pressure. Bombers 2010 Yup just was thinking the same thing. Eerily similar is that both the 2010 Bombers and this year's Tiger Cats also lost their starting QB early in the season. But yeah, the Tiger Cats are a competitive team, but just can't quite put it all together. They're like a baseball team that can get the hits to put men on base but just can't get that key RBI or homerun to get the win when they need it. They'll be looking back on this year as a team that almost had it but just couldn't keep their record on the ball.
  18. Well, think that's gonna effectively end this one.
  19. Wow, Sean Gore is still alive lol
  20. That would've been a rather crazy turnover if that had been overturned
  21. Throw the challenge flag Austin lol
  22. Jeebus, someone reel the refs in
  23. Bad call, Glenn tripped over Harris
  24. crazy how the Ticats keep penalizing themselves though That last one I'm surprised Austin didn't throw his headset If I were Congi, I'd have kicked the rouge there
  25. Wow, letting Giguere get behind them 2x now
