Wanna-B-Fanboy Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 I just realized... this is going to be the last LDC ever @ Mosaic... I would love to win with a blow out... taking one final dump on Mosaic. wbbfan 1
bearpants Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 I sure hope so.... but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves...
Tracker Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 It would be only fitting. A note of caution, though- in the loss to the Stamps, Durant looked pretty capable, maybe even better than BLM. Durant was victimized by his receivers and his O-line was not good at all that game. LimJahey and Atomic 2
Fatty Liver Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 **** the history. I expect the Bombers to crush the Riders in both the LDC and the BB this year. It will mark the start of a new era of winning football in Wpg. and I see no reason they should lose either game to those corrupted bottom-feeders. wbbfan, Wanna-B-Fanboy, BigBlueFanatic and 1 other 4
Arnold_Palmer Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Beating the Riders in Regina for the LDC classic would go a long way to the psyche of this football team. Going back to Winnipeg for the Banjo bowl with a winning record would only be the second time since 2007. Yikes! Tracker 1
wbbfan Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 We should beat them, on paper. Dirty old regina is allways tough on ld though. Weve got to win atleast one of those games and idk which one I would prefer. I hope we sweep them of course, its just soo rare for that to happen these days. If we sweep the riders, the home attendance and atmosphere is going to be night and day from earlier this year. Maybe thats how we finally turn the home record around at IG.
Jethro Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 No. Bad things always happen on labour day.
The Unknown Poster Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Its funny because as much as the sky is falling in Regina, its almost the perfect storm of them being angry and motivated to beat the Bombers. Ugh.
do or die Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Sweep them, crush them, mop the field with them. Then Jones will wake up, one morning.....and find a haybale, between his sheets....
White Out Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Labour day has been a nightmare in Regina for basically my entire life. It'd be so cathartic for this team and us fans to go into Regina and trash the place. Tracker 1
Nolby Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 I'd approach this with caution. It wasn't too long ago where we were 7-1 and they were 1-7 and they beat us.
Fatty Liver Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 It's Just another game and just another chance to change the course of history. Bombers make history in Regina REGINA - The streak is over. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers kicked off the 2015 CFL regular season tonight by beating the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium for the first time since 2004, snapping an 11 game losing streak in Regina. Bombers quarterback Drew Willy was spectacular, Paris Cotton ran roughshod over a banged up Riders defence, Saskatchewan lost starting quarterback Darian Durant for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon, and the Bombers emerged with a 30-26 triumph on a hot and sticky night in the Saskatchewan capital. “It is different. I felt like I was the most excited one on the field at the end of the game. Guys don't understand how important this was and how big that was to get this win. My first year we went to the Grey Cup. We came here 7-1, expecting to win and got our butts kicked for the next couple weeks. “It's something that's huge. It's something that's really huge and something we can definitely feed off of going into game two.” Winnipeg will play its home opener on Thursday night against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who lost a heart breaker in Calgary on Friday night when Rene Paredes drilled a 50-yard field goal as time expired. The Bombers not only won the game in front of 32,288 spectators, but their West Division rival Roughriders and Edmonton Eskimos both lost their starting quarterbacks on a carnage filled first Saturday in the CFL. Aside from Durant suffering a season ending injury for the second straight year, Eskimos starter Mike Reilly left their loss to Toronto with what looks like a serious left leg injury. So Winnipeg is 1-0 and it still has a healthy starting quarterback. All in all, it was a good trip next door for the Blue and Gold. Willy completed 22 of 25 attempts for 325 yards and three touchdowns. Cotton, meanwhile, juked and jived his way to 108 rushing yards on 13 carries behind Winnipeg's rebuilt offensive line. “We were just being efficient,” Willy said. “Being able to run the football, more lanes open up. You gotta give credit to the O line, Paris Cotton and Cam Marshall. All these guys are really helping us out, and the receivers made plays. “It's fun to be a part of a club with players and coaches that really believed we were going to win this game.” The Bombers trailed 26-23 with 10 minutes to go, but they re-took the lead three minutes later when Nick Moore hauled in an 18-yard touchdown toss from Willy. It was Moore's first touchdown in 10 games as a member of the Bombers. “I told you,” Moore said. “I told you all I was going to score the first game. I had a chip on my shoulder.” Marshall, who is the Thunder in Winnipeg's two tailback system, had two touchdowns, including a 14-yard reception and a two-yard run. Cotton hauled in a six-yard touchdown toss from Willy to open the game's scoring in the first quarter. Durant suffered his injury late in the second quarter just after throwing a pass and without being touched. The Green and White signed Kevin Glenn in the off-season, and that now becomes the CFL's most important off-season acquisition. Glenn and the Riders came out firing at the start of the third quarter down 15-14. After Lirim Hajrullahu's opening kick went out of bounds and Khalil Bass had backup Kevin Glenn's first pass go through his hands, Jerome Messam steamrolled 53 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. Glenn found Chris Getzlaf in the end zone for the two point convert, and the Riders led 22-15. The Riders marched again, but they lost some serious momentum when Chris Milo whiffed on a 36-yard field goal attempt and had to settle for a single. Bombers receiver Rory Kohlert dressed for the game but didn't play. He missed the last two days of practice with an undisclosed injury and was replaced in the starting lineup by Kris Bastien. Willy sounded relieved to finally get a victory in the Queen City, even though he lost only once in Regina last season after coming over from the Green and White. “Last year they had the upper edge on me, and it hurt the whole entire off-season,” he said. “I have great respect for that team. “I'm just happy that we could get a win here, and then the media can stop talking about us not winning here since 2004.” http://www.winnipegsun.com/2015/06/27/bombers-make-history-in-regina
Arnold_Palmer Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 And that was the last time Drew Willy played great football. Tracker 1
blueingreenland Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Uh...a better statement would be "nuke the Riders", as in beat the Riders bad. Let's not Nuke Saskathewan please as a lot of nice Bomber fans live there (my self included). LimJahey and Wanna-B-Fanboy 2

Also we should remember that Saskatchewan has tremendous value as a training ground for future orthodontists.

bearpants Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 After the Hamilton game I looked at the schedule and saw Tor, Mtl, Sask, Sask... I thought it would be really great to go 3-1 in that stretch... I was accounting for one loss in the most obvious game... I won't be confident we win that game until the score board says 0:00 Wpg: lots Sask: not very much LimJahey 1

Engelwood Posted August 19, 2016 Report Posted August 19, 2016 Now the real question is who is going to be there to watch it. I am going.
GCn20 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 We should boycott the game. No Bombers fans at the LDC and the Riders will be in so much financial trouble that they probably won't be able to afford Durant next year. Man that sure sounds silly when you turn tables...yet that is exactly what Rider fans were suggesting last week they should do to Calgary...and they thought it might work. Another whopper was about a 3 page conversation about how the Riders have the 2nd best receiving corps in the CFL. THE 2nd BEST RECEIVING CORPS? Delusional. Brandon 1
