I'm pretty sure I saw the Crash Test Dummies at U or M perform long before they were famous, while visiting pals during Christmas break one year.  Might have been around the same time frame.

saw Huey Lewis & the News when he was the main act at the Arena in 1987.

Saw Def Leppard in 1988.  Surrounded by a sea of mullets.  Saw them again in Kelowna in 2005.   Once again, surrounded by a sea of mullets.
