The Eskimos then get ball and proceeded to march up the field and score. That's on the defense. In that particular instance, you're right
Ripper Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Couple of observations. Way too much tackling the ball and not the man, taking to many chances looking for the turnover. Second thing is this Hall defense is dead in the water without a pass rush. They need to get something going up front. I see Tenant taking reps at Tackle, Are you guys in ratio trouble that bad? Or is Shologan past his expiry date? Westerman is the only one showing any heart up there.

That's on the players for sloppy tacking and bad decision making. The front 7 started to slide when Wild got knicked, he made up for a lot of the deficiencies in the rest of the unit. Bass is really a non factor most nights unless he guesses correctly on which gap to plug and Leggett in pass coverage is being beaten like a dog. Lofler is also taking some lumps in the middle of late as teams take advantage of his inexperience. Tracker 1
do or die Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Bottom line.....you let good QB's (BLM, Reilly, et. al.) sit back there, all comfy with all kinds of time......you are going to have problems.... Goalie and pigseye 2
Goalie Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 The players weren't at their best but the D scheme certainly didn't help them. I feel our D has been kind of over rated for a long time... going back last year even.... we have some pretty good players but that scheme is just.... it doesn't really work anymore. But basically you can look back 5 or 10 years and the bottom line is this is the definition of a Richie Hall D.

And the last two games the Bombers played are ample proof. It was happening against the Riders as well , but they got away with it.

iso_55 Posted October 3, 2016 Report Posted October 3, 2016 When you see a receiver not moving & finding an open spot they'll often sit & wait for the pass. That's the route they run & it's called a Sit Route. Or they could be running a curl to the open spot on the field. When you see that it's zone. It means the receivers are finding the open spots between the zones. LaPo plays a more horizontal short passing game. We don't go deep very much but it is effective when he does. It's better than it was before. With Willy he was holding onto the ball too long as well as under & overthrowing his receivers. Our offense looks a lot more productive than it did in July.
