Fraser Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 I am going to be without wifi on Saturday but will have cell service. Has anyone ever steamed a game on cjob listen live and if so do you have an idea of how much data it took?
johnzo Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 (edited) Don't know the bitrate that CJOB uses, but if they broadcast it as a ok-quality MP3 that'd use about a megabyte a minute, or about 180MB for the whole game. And I'm certain they're not broadcasting with that kind of quality. I'd guess their bitrate is a third or a half of that, and then half that again because CJOB will be broadcasting in mono, not stereo. So it's going to be a few tens of megabytes at most. Engelwood Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 I watched a whole game on TSNgo streaming and it was 650mb
yogi Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 According to my app stats, I've used 55MB of data in the CJOB app. I've probably listened to somewhere between a half to a whole game through the app, maybe more. In comparison, I've used that much for snapchat this month alone and I've only opened it maybe twice. CJOB doesn't use much data.
Noeller Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 It's next to nothing. I've done it a few times. Definitely recommend .
Tehedra Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 Yeah; I've never had data concerns with CJOB it's always been excellent on data; their stream isn't a very high bitrate and it doesn't need to be since it's just him talking really. I'll be listening to the game while I do my school work this weekend. Noeller 1

WildPath Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 Do you guys use the CJOB app for streaming? When I just have a cell I use TuneIn Radio (android) and it hasn't been stellar recently, so I might try the switch today.
MOBomberFan Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 Corus app is really the way to go. I've never had an issue. Noeller 1
