Noeller Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Didn't it used to be 3 guys....not 1 West, 1 East?
Mr Dee Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 But Campbell? Did the Command Centre review and make this call? Wanna-B-Fanboy and Logan007 2
Goalie Posted November 10, 2016 Author Report Posted November 10, 2016 BLM vs Ernest Jackson MOP Elimimian vs Woods MODP Only bomber nominated was Medlock and he will go up against Brandon Banks as MOSTP

Goalie Posted November 10, 2016 Author Report Posted November 10, 2016 Yup. That's why Campbell is there

He was red hot for like 5 weeks early this year. But he wasnt even the best return man in the league. And medlock had the best season by a kicker ever. Medlock clearly wins, right? right?! Man that list was a joke im not even sure >.> kelownabomberfan and Tracker 2
Goalie Posted November 10, 2016 Author Report Posted November 10, 2016 So BLM Elimimian Dickenson Medlock Davarius Daniels Calgary OL Those should be the winners

It has ALWAYS been just Top 3 coaches....and it gets announced during the offseason league meetings in, like, February or whatever. Goalie Posted November 10, 2016 Author Report Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) IMO Loffler got jobbed... he's Canadian... that should matter Leggett might have been jobbed a bit also. What he did was pretty Remarkable Edited November 10, 2016 by Goalie wbbfan and voodoochylde 2
bigg jay Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Last season was the 1st year with only 2 finalists.
Goalie Posted November 10, 2016 Author Report Posted November 10, 2016 I get its East west but how could anyone actually believe Campbell deserves the nod over O'shea or Buono. Yet another reason to go to 1 division Ottawa had a losing record wbbfan 1
Mr Dee Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 That COTY determination has just been turned into a farce. The best Coachs don't follow East-West guidelines. They are simply the Coachs who are deemed to have done the best job, under the circumstances, or because of the circumstances, and that certainly doesn't qualify ANY Eastern candidates. Buono and O'Shea certainly ahead of Campbell. Bigblue204, Tracker, voodoochylde and 1 other 4
TBURGESS Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 With east vs west, the coach of the year finalists make sense. If it were 1 division, not so much. Looks like Medlock is a lock.
Noeller Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Derek Taylor brings up a good point that, while MOS would likely publicly say that he doesn't give 2 shits about individual recognition for COY, it *does* probably have a lot of importance to him come contract-talk time.... I would argue that completely. After getting to know the people who would be in charge of making the decision on Osh's new contract, it would be irrelevant. The results are the results, award recognition or not.
mbrg Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Never seen this E vs W nonsense for COTY before. What's Campbell? 4th best coach in the league this year behind three guys in the west?

Probably true... he took that gong-show, released the 2 best offensive players.... and turned them into a competitive team down the stretch...
Bomber_fanaddict Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 I thought Coach of the YEAR included the playoffs. What if the Bombers pull off the miraculous GC win? Wouldn't that vault Mike over the top for COY? Bigblue204 1

IIRC it was always supposed to be for just the regular season but because it was voted on and awarded in the spring it usually went to the coach of the GC winning team. Moving the award to GC week makes sense.
