If Franklin has any say in where he goes, he would be a fool to choose the Riders over, say, the Bombers. No quarterback, no matter how skilled and experienced , is going to stay healthy let alone look good behind that O-line guided by that coaching staff. The Bombers found that out in the Buck Pierce era, and in that same era, we found out that any quarterback with potential with potential will have that potential snuffed out and replaced with PTSD. Franklin will need a decent O-line, receivers and coaching if he wants to become an elite pivot.

He wouldn't choose Winnipeg as he'd back up Nichols.

...don't overlook how important that water is to making the kool-aid....

Add 6 cups hype and equal parts  blind faith, arrogance with a dash of hypocrisy. Blend thoroughly.

How long could the hype sit in the cup before it evaporated?  Would there be any left in 26 years I wonder? Just curious what you thought.

Holy crap..(your trolling post)

Do you honestly believe having won 2 cups in that same period doesn't disqualify you guys from being complete idiots when you mention that?

Not to mention 2 cups previous to that in what?? 50-60-70 years.

Yep, lots to rave about there.

It was a bit of a troll which is not my nature. More intended as a shot back at the never ending shots I have to read through just to find some football discussion sometimes

Why would Franklin remotely even think of wanting to go to Winnipeg? Franklin has two possibilities and that's it. Toronto or Saskatchewan. Franklin wants to be an immediate starter and doesn't need to compete against a current starter for a spot. Winnipeg isn't getting him so move on.

Lol at your certainty. A year is a long time and lots can change before he becomes a fa. Think back to this time last year and what the odds were that Durant would be in Montreal and Nichols the undisputed starter in Winnipeg right now.

A year from now Nichols could be on the block. Maybe Reilly gets hurt again and they run him out of town instead. Who knows what could happen.  A team could sign a player who had lost his spot with current team only to find out later the replacement on said team was a crack dealer.

AND you ain't getting him either...Hervey would rather trade him to anyone else in the CFL than his hated ex-coach pal in Regina...You don't have enough on your roster  or in picks to change that fact  lol...AND when he reaches fa...(if he does) you'll have plenty of competition including us...You have to remember this is a proving year for Nichols...he's not enshrined yet...So stuff your crap.

IMO Franklin stays with Edmonton this year then goes to FA where he signs with the best team that offers him the starting job. Riders or Argos are most likely, with an outside chance of Montreal or Winnipeg depending on how this season plays out.

Perhaps Franklin attempts an NFL shot? Can't be as bad as some of those bums.

I would expect his agent to gauge interest.  He will only be 26 so there may still be some teams who would give him a look... maybe not a serious look but an opportunity nonetheless.  The question is whether he is at a point in his life where he would want to take a shot at the NFL with the very slim chance of making it or take starter money in the CFL if it is being offered to him.

Let's allow him to prove himself as an actual starter first. Tap the breaks on Franklin- mania

Not necessarily a requirement for getting a look in the NFL though.  LeFevour, Graham Harrell both got looks without any real success in the CFL.

True but I was referring to his premature annointing as a "real deal" up here

Maybe because he took the riders to a win against ottawa putting up 350+ yards when the riders were 0 fer with durant previously on the season. Maybe because hes a little bit younger then davis, but played a ton more football at both college and the pro level. And managed to take a no2 spot and as previously mentioned start and win a game in the cfl. vs being a default no3. Or maybe because he has a better passing tool set.

Davis also started a won a game against a team that wasn't forced to play their 3rd string QB lol.
