nate007 Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 The Bombers originally traded #6 in the 2010 draft for #9 and #22. At nine they took Watson, and then they traded #22 (where Steele was taken) for Alex Brink. Could've had Watson, Steele, and Greaves in the same draft (and we already had Donny O on the DL). Thanks Joe Mack (and thanks for nothing Alex Brink). rebusrankin and IC Khari 2

Him and Donny O were a good combo could be the same with Thomas. I'll take Locking Down our Starting 7 Ratio for eight hundred Alex.

Taynted_Fayth Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 Boudreau would be a good hire. Quite the resume behind him, one that stands out is fairly recently with the Rams; Quote In 2015, the Rams allowed the fewest sacks in the league (18) and finished seventh in the NFL in rushing yards per game. Sounds like a good replacement for Wylie wbbfan and mbrg 2
SpeedFlex27 Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) If I was an Argo fan I'd be so unexcited for the Popp hiring. He was one of the worst GM's in the CFL the last few years of his time in Montreal. Now, Trestman? Different story. Popp should be on a short leash as it is & told that if he ever wants to coach again he'll be fired. Edited February 28, 2017 by SpeedFlex27

Realistically, with the very short time frame, and with the selection as limited as it was, it was probably as good as it could be under the circumstances. Besides, Trestman said he would come to Canada only if Popp was part of the package.
TBURGESS Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 I'm a big Trestman fan. Popp is a good GM. As long as he doesn't try to be a coach again, they should be great additions to the Argos. Should have happened back in December if they wanted to have the maximum chance at a winning season this year, but I still think they will make a pretty big difference this year.

Bigblue204 Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 We will see what Trestman has now. That's a fairly weak roster in TO, see what he can do when he's not set at the important positions.

Mark F Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) Quote Popp spent 21 seasons as the Montreal Alouettes general manager (1996-2016), leading the franchise to eight Grey Cup appearances, winning three. Two of those titles came with Trestman as the club’s head coach (2009-10). Andrew Michael Cash to Toronto? Edited February 28, 2017 by Mark F

Mike Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 I'm still so confused about how the Bombers are managing to bring in Paul Boudreau. He must just be looking for an "easier" pace to the season at his age. Easily capable of getting work in the NFL.
