kelownabomberfan Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) Nope - he's not eligible to be drafted until 2018 - see the CFL press release. EDIT Edited March 4, 2017 by kelownabomberfan

JuranBoldenRules Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 Dumb dumb rule on the doping and draft. Players should stand in the draft with a penalty determined by the league. They could even just enforce the NFL suspension. rebusrankin, sweep the leg, Floyd and 2 others 5

Because of the overreaction in the aftermath. Should just suspend him and let teams decide if they want him with the 4 games looming. MOBomberFan, sweep the leg and JCon 3
mbrg Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) In the strictest sense, CFL teams aren't allowed to sign players serving an NFL suspension. I don't think that rule has any subsections that pertain to the CFL draft. So in my simple mind, being able to draft him but not sign him makes sense with the existing rules. Of course, just giving him a normal suspension makes far more sense than that option, but trust the CFL to go with "none of the above". Edit - I see they added this draft eligibility rule a year ago. That's fine then, I thought they were once again making up policy as they go. Edited March 4, 2017 by mbrg
rebusrankin Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 Wondering if we have a shot at Steele and or Miles? Wondering if Miles is better than some of the other NI lbers we currently have too.

The likelihood of Simonise serving that NFL suspension is low. Would that mean he'd never be eligible to play in he CFL since he can't be signed while under NFL suspension? Man this league is a mess on the PED issue.

Jacquie Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 (edited) So before the current drug policy was introduced people were bitching and complaining about the lack of one and now when someone is penalized under it people are bitching and complaining about it.
