I dont think ive ever seen a pending active play as a future out side of PTBNL, which is cash a huge percentage of the time. The only time I can remember something similar is when Mike Kelly traded Romby Bryant and Arjei Franklin for Odell Willis mid-season, then after the season ended, the Bombers received OL Derek Armstrong to finalize the trade. wbbfan 1

Jpan85 Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 Went to a good place Mike Zimmer tends to have a good history developing DBs.
Taynted_Fayth Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 I'm surprised the argos didn't opt for Bell. Wonder when and where the shoe drops for Bell.

Taynted_Fayth Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 Just now, Floyd said: Sask by Labour Day. I'd have thought so but they picked up cam marshall, who i think is better then lafrance and morris and will eventually take over if the experiment proves to be a bust. Bell must be looking for a lot of cheddar
bigg jay Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 The Jim Popp era has begun in Toronto wbbfan 1
bigg jay Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 Might not be the last Argo released either unless more guys are willing to take pay cuts. http://3downnation.com/2017/03/30/argos-asking-veterans-to-restructure-contracts/

Atomic Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 Honestly not that big a deal. Foley should get over himself. It's a new regime, they're not going to drive to your house and soothe your ego for an hour when they release you. He was a Jim Barker guy and he's old and he won't be starting this year.... he should have seen this coming. Bigblue204 and Goalie 2

I read that when Jones took over in Regina and did a total hatchet job by cutting about half the team, he just released the news to the media. That's how the players found out about it.
Rich Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 Driving over to the guys house isn't necessary. A two minute phone call that basically says "We appreciate everything you've done for the Argos but we are now going in a new direction." is a much more professional way to run an organisation then sending this over a text. Then again, maybe I'm just old fashioned. SPuDS, Fan Boy, Noeller and 3 others 6

I think that expectation goes out the window. Just my opinion....

You sign a contract with a team, not with a GM. If don't treat the players with respect, why would you expect them to treat the team with respect? Noeller 1

Noeller Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 If there's one thing we've learned, it's that it's a small league and players talk a lot....club reputations get around. JCon and bigg jay 2
TBURGESS Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 It's completely unprofessional to fire anyone via text. Face to face is best, but if Foley can't make it to the club's offices, then over the phone would be OK. Jesse, Noeller, JCon and 3 others 6

That and he took a shot at Stegall a few years back so I'm cool with how Popp handled this! Noeller 1
bearpants Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 have to agree with most here that the least you can do is call the guy... even if it's the AGM, doesn't have to be Popp or Trestman...
