We've only heard one side of this, so it might not be as bad as it sounds. Maybe they called him the night before to tell him it was going to happen and the text today was just a confirmation? I don't know, just thinking out loud. Seems hard to believe a team would be that shitty to a long time vet like that.

Another bonus victim?

I would assume so, based on the timing.  He had a decent season in 2014, but his game seems to have fallen apart since then.

We ended up with Corney in that trade.

I figured Neuf was the better player. BUt thought Greaves had experience on the outside as well.

if memory serves, he's played mostly (if not ONLY) guard....

Greaves likely a more "durable" option, but Neufeld, when healthy, is a much better player and more versatile (plays every position on the line)

You said, "when healthy". When is that? He's a walking injury. He's never been healthy.

Compare the text to Foley with how O'Shea treats his guys. Remember he went to Drew Willy's house to inform him he was traded.

Willy is a classy pro, Foley is a mouthy ******-bag. Not 100% comparable situations.

Not that 2 wrongs make a right... But let's remember that Foley has twice renegged on agreements to sign with teams and ditched them without notice.

On the practical side, I'm ok with this. We're better off with his money spent on a full time player 10 years younger.

Chamblin was his coach in Sask... If he didn't want him, then there's no reason not to cut him now. Still early, if he's in shape, he'll find a spot somewhere.

Thanks for the memories, Ricky.

Agree, agree, agree.

It's not like Foley did anything wrong. The least you should do is pick up the phone and tell the guy.

this.

A boss should always step up and either do this in person or failing that, via phone or even skype.   a text.. that just screams laziness and lack of any professionalism.

Hell, even people who break up with people via text should just man up and do it civilized like.
