Bighill five foot ten 230 pounds..... What position would he play in the states?

Not too many linebackers his size in the NFL.

special teams maybe?

I boldly predict he'll be back with the lions this coming season.

Special teams is where he'll play, I'd think.

If he wants to play football, he'll need to be accepting of a reduced rate. He might have some value left as a guard, but I think his days as a tackle are over.

probably right. I didnt watch enough of him last year to say if hes gotta slide in but thats allways a possibility.

Losing players only hurts a team if you can't replace them. I would imagine all these guys freed up some serious coin to throw at potential replacements. That being said losing them still sucks. Keeping them would have been much easier on old Wally's heart methinks.

That will all depend on cap space. Does Wally hold some SMS back in hopes of his return? Probably, unless theirs a LBer out there in FA he really likes and just decides to move on.

Good on Lirim H. He was just as accurate on field goals as Medlock last year (albeit he only had 2/3 as many attempts) and was 100% on one-point converts.  Pretty special when you think back to how he was snakebit on converts in 2015.

Nothing better than seeing a kicked-around player kill it like that.

(edit: the CFL website is confused about whether he missed any converts, http://www.cfl.ca/stats/?stat_category=field_goals&season=2016 says he was 28/28 but http://www.cfl.ca/players/lirim-hajrullahu/160189/ says he was 32/34.  No idea which is right. Anyway, congrats to him on the extension)

wasnt there some speculation after Liram's phenomenal rookie season he set his sights on the NFL and tweaked his kicking mechanics to adjust to the NFL ahead of time which may have impacted his kicking in 2015?  and quite possibly doing double duty didnt help either

Didn't he miss a convert against the bombers even?

I think so too, he was convinced that he made it but the refs. disagreed.

It was a field goal and Leggett returned it to the 40..or close to it

The second link would be correct.  He missed a convert against Ottawa in week 4 & then against Edmonton in week 9.
