Mark F Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) more re Jaquie's post.... Hate the poor is back in a big way (along with hating blacks, Latinos, Muslims, Jews) Quote As House Republicans begin to roll out their proposed replacement for Obamacare, Rep. Jason Chaffetz of Utah suggested that poor Americans could pay for plans by prioritizing health care over smartphones. “Americans have choices, and they’ve got to make a choice,” said Chaffetz in a Tuesday interview with CNN, “so maybe rather than getting that new iPhone they just love and spending hundreds of dollars on that they should invest in their own health care. They’ve got to make those decisions themselves.” According to the 2016 Millman Medical Index, the average annual cost of health care for a typical American family of four was $25,826, or just over $2,100 per month. For a standard two-year plan on Verizon with no special deals, the iPhone 7 would cost $27.08 a month These people are truly putrid. Incidentally, attacks on Jews are way up in the US. johnzo Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 Yeah, it's an article of faith in the GOP that being poor (like being gay) is a choice that people freely make. Mark F and Brandon Blue&Gold 2
The Unknown Poster Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 Its one thing for them to be so arrogant they think poor people choose to be poor, but imagine being so stupid they openly admit it. What a terribly stupid thing to say. Mark F 1
johnzo Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 For anyone tempted to take Trump's tweeting seriously: ...then, six weeks later... Jason Chaffetz is a Republican leader in the House, he chairs the Oversight committee, and could investigate this if he wanted to.
The Unknown Poster Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 Also I believe Trump's daughter was registered to vote in two states so he could have started the investigation by asking her... Mark F 1

Watching a Republican Congressman this morning describe it as "personal responsibility" The real sad part...is that a lot of the blue collar and low income people who voted for Trump - are going to be the ones getting it in the neck.....in more ways than one.....
do or die Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) Well, optics to the contrary, Trump is actually accomplishing some things.... ok, for his kinda people Corporations that will have to put up with less EPA regulations and enforcement - who cares about the environment? Bankers and other Financial institutions can go back to less over site and banking regulations - Got by just fine without those, right? Corporations who can continue to grossly over-charge for military hardware, - making America strong, yet again? Corporations who can over charge for goods and services.... if this nonsensical wall ever gets built No more of this socialist movement towards universal health care - the class (ability to pay) system must stay strong. Deregulation and "Corporate tax reform" - you just know this will level out the playing field...right? Moguls, plutocrats and one-per centers, rejoice! As far as the rest - welcome to Trickle Down Theory Part Deux.....and cross yer fingers. Edited March 7, 2017 by do or die bearpants, Brandon Blue&Gold and Fatty Liver 3

True, he has to interpret and divulge the president's thoughts on things (no small task and one that leads to insanity) to the press, and I give him a lot of leeway for having to do this close to impossible task. On the other hand- he fought tooth and nail for this position, knowing full well what he would have to do- so, to him I say "have at it and enjoy".

Three people resigned from the Nixon Admin during the Saturday Night Massacre due to their refusal to go along with the President's Bullshit. At some point, a guy like Spicer and others will have to decide how much more they can take.

johnzo Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 (edited) The House intelligence committee is going to hold public hearings into Trump/Russia. First one is on March 20th. The directors of the FBI, NSA and the former directors of DNI and the CIA will be testifying under oath. That's interesting that the intelligence committee would hold public hearings, especially with high-powered guys like that testifying. Not sure if it's precedented or not. I wonder how many questions they will decline to answer on account of national security. I've heard that Sally Yeates will also be called to testify -- she was briefly the acting attorney general before getting fired for refusing to enforce the first Muslim ban. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/03/07/house-intelligence-committee-to-hold-open-public-hearing-on-russia-probe-on-march-20-rep-nunes-says.html Edited March 8, 2017 by johnzo
do or die Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Leader and Devin Nunes, Chairman of the House intelligence committee said they hadn’t seen evidence to support baseless allegations that Barack Obama wiretapped Trump during the election. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/mar/07/trump-wiretap-obama-republicans-us-intelligence It gets better... Quote Nunes chastised the media for taking Trump’s words at face value. The president had merely posed a question about being wiretapped, Nunes argued, even as reporters said Trump’s statement had been far more definitive. “As you all know, the president is a neophyte in politics. And I think a lot of the things he says, you guys sometimes take literally,” Nunes said to the press. So an incoming President accuses the former President of illegally wiretapping his phones, and calls it "the biggest thing since Watergate", provides absolutely no evidence, but induces the White House to demand an Congressional investigation? Just idle chatter....the press should of just moved along Republicans are getting all kinds of practice.... at shape-shifting, these days, everyday. Top Republicans running away from this story and dumping it back into the White House's lap. Fortunately the next Angry Spice press conference should completely clear things up. What an utter clown show. Why am I not surprised? Mark F 1
kelownabomberfan Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 (edited) Ben Carson says almost word for word something Obama said 15 months ago. Guess who was pilloried relentlessly for it and guess who had zero backlash? Hypocrisy to the extreme. Edited March 8, 2017 by kelownabomberfan

Mark F Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 (edited) Red Herring.... misdirection.... that is Trump's game. that's what "Obama wired tapped me" is. extreme misdirection. He has a full bag of these tricks. Meanwhile the work on the real agenda goes on unnoticed. Edited March 8, 2017 by Mark F
