There has actually been attempts to normalize pedophilia. Salon.com had not one, but two articles on how we should 'understand pedophiles'. They have since removed it, probably because they received angry mail I hope. Other articles were written saying Salon should not have removed it.

It's not Nazi's v. non-Nazis. It's Nazis v. Communists, and in that fight you don't choose sides. This is what befell 1930's Germany. The Nazis (left-wing national socialists) played off the people's fear of the communists. The neo-Nazis and AntiFa are both violent, extremist losers who are nothing but trouble for society. In a battle of fascists (AntiFa act more like fascists than anyone) and Nazis, both need to be hit by an asteroid. We need to acknowledge violence by all who propagate it. FrostyWinnipeg Posted August 23, 2017 Report Posted August 23, 2017 Another great speech by Trump tonight. He is a dumpster fire that Repubs are roasting marshmallows over.
The Unknown Poster Posted August 23, 2017 Report Posted August 23, 2017 It's really odd that Trump equates monuments to a losing side in a war predominantly over slavery as being his culture and history. But whatever. More talk of invoking the 25th tonight. But I think people don't realize what that entails. It's not just that the majority of cabinet and the VP have to invoke, which might be possible, but Trump would then contest it to congress where they'd need a majority to uphold it. I believe congress would essentially investigate but I don't know if it would be be a public hearing. Depending on what secrets could come out Trump might not do that. And he would likely not risk losing. But I don't think he would. Too many republicans are afraid of angering their alt right base. If enough cabinet and republicans get to the point to even consider tbe 25th, they might have more luck just convincing Trump to resign "on his own terms".
Goalie Posted August 23, 2017 Report Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) Trump will quit before hes impeached. He will talk of how he Did all he could to MAGA and probably blame the media Edited August 23, 2017 by Goalie The Unknown Poster 1

He will talk of how he Did all he could to MAGA and probably blame the media I agree. I figured he'd decline to seek reelection. Although I can't imagine he makes it through another three years. I think he quits at some point. Im not even sure the 25th is appropriate in this case. Although impeachment would be if congress so deems it. If mueller comes up with something they will be the next big step. Trump might try to pardon himself which I think would fail. He might try to pardon others in a quid pro quo effort to have them take the fall. But mueller is probably effective enough to limit that possibility. Lastly it leaves a Nixon deal where Trump quits to elevate pence in return for a pardon.

Yup. You already have far too many Republicans that refuse to speak out against Trump. I read an interesting take on the 25th and how using it to remove Trump would violate the spirit of the thing. And that if the Republicans ever get to the point of removal, they should impeach rather then 25. The mid terms will be a big deal. if enough people re-elect Republicans to control of Congress, get used to Trump.
do or die Posted August 23, 2017 Report Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) Trump holding another of these cult rallies. So what did he accomplish, with this one. Managed to insult both Republican conservative Senators in their home state. Stated that the media is an enemy of the people. He attacked networks individually by name for about 10 min. He doubted the media he attacked "loved America." Spent 15 minutes lying his ass off, about Charlotteville, rehashing his former statements, and (of course) leaving out the key quotes..... "both sides" and "some good people marching there" Only equated violence with anti-racist demonstrators. Threatened to tear up NAFTA, if he didn't get what he wanted from Canada and Mexico Made a game out of whether he would or wouldn't pardon racist profiler ole Sheriff Joe. Got to expound a bit more, on his favorite subject - himself Threatened to shut down the federal government, over his demand for $1.6 billion in border wall money Said there were only a handful of demonstrators outside - everybody else, including Fox News, reported thousands. His desperate need to have these ego pumping rallies where he rails about his frustrations, tells patent untruths, makes vindictive threats, belittles whoever, and basks in the approval of his deluded base...... reminds one of some sort of ole time African or South American tin pot dictator. CNN has a good story up about all the lies and half truths from the rally. Earlier I said the 25th was not intended to remove a President under these circumstances. But if he is mentally ill, and some have questioned whether he has early onset dementia or whether his issues such as borderline personality or narcissistic etc are prevalent (or accurate) enough to invoke. Ronald Reagan was actually close to having this happen. He went downhill mentally after being shot and some close to him were very concerned. They held a meeting where, unbeknownst to Regan, he was being carefully studied with the intent that if he was not of sound mind, they'd recommend invoking the 25th. Reagan passed with flying colours. But the argument was, he was very good at conversational stuff because even as someone who might struggle, as an actor, especially a charismatic one, he was able to easily disarm people. But some would argue he should have been removed. Im reminded of an episode of West Wing. The President's daughter was kidnapped and he was considering stepping aside. Leo (his CoS) advises him not to and the Pres says "what if I do the wrong thing?" and Leo replies "I wont let you". For dramatic purposes it works because we know Leo wont let him and we know the Pres will listen. We're actually at a point in reality where we can only hope the advisers and generals wont listen if Trump orders the wrong thing...
Goalie Posted August 23, 2017 Report Posted August 23, 2017 Its pretty bad when Trump asks his COS General Kelly to come out and he doesnt.
