So developing nukes pays off. I’m not sure that’s the right message to send.

The message has already been sent and received, years ago when the States developed nukes and became the world police.

If you want to be taken seriously on the world stage, develop nukes.  This isn't a new concept.

You have to be very careful about rewarding bad behaviour. NK is being rewarded. They developed Nukes for this sole reason. They certainly weren’t going to use them. It’s currency. You can applaud them for it but the US has to be careful what they give up.

Letting the NK leader get his 15 minutes with reality Star Trump is one thing. Removing forces from the area is something else.

Germany ignores Trump/USA starts building gas pipeline to connect with Russian natural gas.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Natural-Gas/Germany-Moves-Forward-With-Controversial-Nord-Stream-Two.html

US is losing quickly losing leverage/influence in international matters.

If the Europeans, Russians, Chinese, Japanese, can patch together a way to keep the Iran nuclear agreement in place, i think it's a significant event.

China, the no 1 customer for Iranian oil announced no intention of not continuing to buy Iran's oil.

Withdraw from Paris climate agreement, the TPP, threaten to leave NAFTA, leave the Iranian agreement. (12 years in the making), throw up arbitrary, ill planned  tariffs.

There are consequences to these actions.

Iran is screwed. If they start up their program, they will lose the support they have left from the agreement. The sanctions will eventually cripple their economy and they will have to renegotiate and concede on things like ballistic missiles and sponsoring terrorism as well, which the current agreement doesn't address.

It's the right thing to do with Iran.

I will counter that with trumps actions = 58 dead (plus more since the announcement in Dec).

Oh now every person who dies in Israel and Palestine is Trump's fault?  That's a reach.

Hyperbole much?

It's not a reach at all. Those dead protesters are a result of his moving the embassy. As soon as the announcement came- everyone knew what would happen. All this, just to appeal to his base. it's pretty deplorable.

I would disagree.  People have been dying in droves in Palestine for years because no president was willing to commit to a resolution.  Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital moves them closer to resolving the conflict.  The dream of a two state solution is dying.  Unfortunately change brings conflict and conflict brings violence.  But decades of fence sitting by previous presidents did nothing but extend the deadlock.  Trump deserves credit for a actually taking steps towards a resolution, even if it's not resolution you'd like.  Did you ever really think the issues in Israel and Palestine were going to be resolved peacefully?

"....... John Hagee, one of America’s most prominent end-times preachers, once said that Hitler was sent by Godto drive the Jews to their ancestral homeland.

( At the opening of the embassy) He gave the closing benediction.

He argued in a late 1990s sermon that the Nazis had operated on God's behalf to chase the Jews from Europe and shepherd them to Palestine. According to the Reverend, Adolph Hitler was a "hunter," sent by God, who was tasked with expediting God's will of having the Jews re-establish a state of Israel.

Zionist evangelicals believe that the return of Jews to Israel will usher in the apocalypse and the return of Christ, after which Jews who don’t convert will burn forever."

That's partly what this is about, who Trump did this for. Them, and for the Israeli's who want to annex territory siezed  in the 67 war. And the Saudis are ok with this too.

It's another consequence of Trump, his ignorance, personal troubles, and delusions, as is everything he does.

This is another marker on the road away from the US. The Israelis should be investigated for murder.

This is going to leave a feeling of revulsion world wide.

Its interesting that if one person is killed by a Muslim its big news for this White House but 58 protesters are killed and its a day of celebration.  Politics aside, shouldnt the US be out front in condemning the use of lethal force on unarmed protestors?  You can still be pro-Israel (which I am) and have an issue with that.

To be fair, Bush & Clinton also pledged to move the Embassy and changed their minds when they realized what would happen if they did.  Disputed territory should be negotiated in a fair Middle East peace agreement.  We're certainly not closer to that today.

Yeah... Even I found it a little distasteful.

However the "fair Middle East peace agreement" is a pipe dream.  It's been long enough that I think we can all see that's never going to happen.

Withhold the +3billion $$ that the US  gives to Israel until they agree on a two state solution based on the 1967 borders. I am sure a solution would present itself if you used the cash as incentive.

As if Israel is the only issue here.  It's not like Palestinians are eager to get back to the negotiating table.  Let's not forget Camp David.  There are two sides at play and neither one seems eager for a resolution.  And both sides are guilty of widespread violence against the other.

Trump wants us to get rid of our Drug prices control system, which every western country except the United States has. Americans pay among the highest prices in the world for drugs.

He want us to join the USA. Telegraph:

 David Millward, us correspondent

Donald Trump is ready to use trade talks to force the National Health Service to pay more for its drugs as part of his scheme to "put American patients first”.

Mr Trump has claimed that the high costs faced by US patients are a direct result of other countries’ health services “freeloading” at America’s expense.

Alex Azar, the US Health and Human Services Secretary, has said Washington will use its muscle to push up drug prices abroad, to lower the cost paid by patients in the United States.

"On the foreign side, we need to, through our trade negotiations and agreements, pressure them," Azar said on CNBC.

"And so we pay less, they pay more. It shouldn't be a one-way ratchet. We all have some skin in this game."

Our prices are set by AGREEMENT with the pharmaceutical companies. We have a board, the patent medicines prices review board that acts together with the drug companies to set prices. Every western world country has one, except  the USA.

The American government won't even allow their own government, the largest drug buyer by far, to negotiate volume discounts.  talk about corruption.

Imagine telling Walmart, sorry, no volume discounts. "The PMPRB protects and informs Canadians by ensuring that the prices of patented medicines sold in Canada are not excessive and by reporting on pharmaceutical trends."

Remember, it's in the US, that we get the stories of prices being increased by thousands of percent, cause they can. Check out the price increase on the epi pen.

Still like Trump?

This is completely predictable. And the Americans have been running around pronouncing what N Korea had to do.

The new USA: Uninformed, inexperienced, rash, and ill prepared.

Lots of misinformation in this post, especially the fact that Medicare doesn't negotiate drug prices.

Globe and Mail

A Canadian-Palestinian doctor was shot in the legs by an Israeli sniper and one of his paramedics was killed on the Gaza border Monday as clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli Defence Forces left dozens dead and more than 1,000 wounded.

Dr. Tarek Loubani, an emergency physician from London, Ont., who is also an associate professor at the University of Western Ontario’s medical school, joined medical teams on the Gaza border Monday to care for Palestinians who might be injured in demonstrations against the inauguration of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem.

Dr. Loubani, who has served as an emergency field doctor in Tanzania and conflict zones such as Iraq and southern Lebanon, said he was wearing a green surgeon’s outfit and standing with several orange-vested paramedics about 25 metres from the protests at the border when he was hit.

Lets assume  you're right about medicaid. (And there is still no control over what people not on medicaid pay. as far as I know. )

You say "lots of misinformation"

What other misinformation is there?
