kelownabomberfan Posted October 12, 2018 Report Posted October 12, 2018 Quote Canadians will eventually learn that free speech is not as much offended by calling those who accuse John A. Macdonald of genocide the “PC Brigade” as it is by calling him (and me) genocidists; that denying the right to debate to Faith Goldy is an outrage; that the Paris Climate agreement is the fraud Trump has called it, and that the carbon tax is just a sleazy attempt to raise taxes while claiming to save the Earth. The political intelligence of the United States is in a better condition than ours, and the U.S. is better served by its media than we are by ours, Fake News notwithstanding. Canadians are in no position to disparage the comparative effectiveness and accomplishments of the present U.S. administration. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/conrad-black-canadians-dont-see-the-kavanaugh-episode-for-what-it-is blue_gold_84 1

The Unknown Poster Posted October 12, 2018 Report Posted October 12, 2018 Lol Conrad Black Why is it whenever there is chatter about something stupid or reckless Trump did or said, someone comes along with a completely irrelevant take on something completely different (a post about Canada in the US politics thread). I suppose, to be fair, Trump does or says something stupid almost continuously so there's little wiggle room. Oh well. blue_gold_84 1

JCon Posted October 12, 2018 Report Posted October 12, 2018 US President and fam heavily rely on on Saudi money to fund their investments. US President calls journalists the enemy. Journalist, critical of this relationship, openly investigates the relationship between Saudis and Trumps, gets lured and murdered by the Saudis. US intelligence knew of hit beforehand, did nothing. Said nothing. Trump says, it's okay that the Saudi's did it, cause money more important than journalists. Media: Kanye went to the WH. The Unknown Poster and Wanna-B-Fanboy 2

pigseye Posted October 12, 2018 Report Posted October 12, 2018 There is only one person to blame for this and that is Mohammed bin Salman, a ruthless, reckless, and impulsive leader willing to repress and silence his critics at home and abroad. kelownabomberfan 1

That's not true. There is plenty of blame to go around. Often in a murder case, the person actually dealing the death blow isnt on trial alone. The Saudi's have a lot of enablers around the world. And the US, regardless of admin, is complicit in the enabling. But we have a US president right now who pooh-pooh's any suggestion of consequences because of the money the US makes and the money he personally makes. We have one of the highest ranking members of the admin communicating with the price before the murder. But mostly, without any consequences, its approval to keep doing what they're doing. The anti-media rhetoric of the President could certainly lead one to believe he wouldnt mind a critical journalist being "detained" by the Saudis. When Trump starts nitpicking about citizen vs permanent resident, you know how he feels about it...you know how little value he places on that life. He might not have been happy, but if he was, it sure wouldnt surprise me (or most people).
