Tracker Posted January 23, 2019 Report Posted January 23, 2019 More Turmoil In Trumpland: New reports reveal that Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who has been working pro bono as President Donald Trump's lawyer amidst the Robert Mueller investigation, is losing the faith of the president. The underlying issue seems to be that Giuliani's statements in interviews wind up undermining the president's positions as he faces legal peril and even creates news controversies of their own. The president was livid when Giuliani said over the weekend that Trump had been involved in discussions about building a Trump Tower in Moscow right up until the end of the 2016 presidential election, according to Politico. Although most of the White House shares Trump's frustration with Giuliani and believes that his public misstatements have caused unnecessary headaches, the president still sees value in Giuliani's ability to attack Mueller and congressional Democrats and thereby turn what might otherwise be a strictly legal battle into a political one.
Tracker Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 Judging based on what has been made public so far, the new book “Team of Vipers” by former communications aide to President Donald Trump Cliff Sims paints a devastating portrait of a vicious, opportunistic White House full of selfish and contemptible people. In a new excerpt printed in Vanity Fair, Sims details a darkly revealing account of one of the administration’s most notorious figures: Kellyanne Conway. His description of her is unrelenting: "Her agenda—which was her survival over all others, including the president—became more and more transparent. Once you figured that out, everything about her seemed so calculated; every statement, even a seemingly innocuous one, seemed poll-tested by a focus group that existed inside her mind. She seemed to be perennially cloaked in an invisible fur coat, casting an all-knowing smile, as if she’d collected 98 Dalmatians with only 3 more to go." But Sims doesn’t just describe her in a negative light. He also accuses her of being one of the White House’s most prolific leakers — in an administration that has been known for its leaks. Sims said he discovered Conway’s leaking through a careless move on her part. While he was working in her office on her laptop — at her direction — she was also texting with multiple reporters, he explained, texts that kept popping up on the computer he was using. Sims wrote: "Over the course of 20 minutes or so, she was having simultaneous conversations with no fewer than a half-dozen reporters, most of them from outlets the White House frequently trashed for publishing “fake news.” Journalists from The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, Politico, and Bloomberg were all popping up on the screen. And these weren’t policy conversations, or attempts to fend off attacks on the president. As I sat there trying to type, she bashed Jared Kushner, Reince Priebus, Steve Bannon, and Sean Spicer, all by name." The Unknown Poster 1

do or die Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 (edited) So, Trump will not give a State of the Union Address, until the government is re-opened. Many Republicans are probably pretty relieved- having Trump give a SOTUA, from anywhere - blaring about how great everything is....while the government is shut down would of been quite a spectacle. His attempt to bluff Pelosi into making the House available, backfired bigly. Meanwhile, checking RCA poll averages, the last couple of days........Trump and the Republicans are taking a real beating, over the shutdown. And it will get far worse, when plenty of essential services become non-available. Trump could bellow and push the buttons, when he had House and Senate. Now, Pelosi pushes his...... He's really be exposed as far as being the great negotiator goes. And I suppose this is what people were afraid when more and more staff left the White House. When they talk about having grown-ups in the room. This is Trump unchecked, who isnt a good negotiator anyway, doesnt understand politics and is incredibly insecure and only getting advice from the far far right while listening to FOX news. FOX News, by the way, referred to this as "Trump Blinks" so even they arent happy. What did they expect him to do, just show up at Congress and begin delivering a speech? Who would want to give a SOTU during a shut down anyway...the State of the Union is bad. Very bad. Historically long shut down, criminal investigations of Trump and Trump people on multiple fronts. Like...what would he say?

Like...what would he say? Exactly what he tweets every day. Economy great, historic lows on unemployment, all-time high number of people working, great trade deals, America first. But dangerous times, fake news, media unfair coverage, caravan crisis, border security including a barrier, need to come together to open government with a sensible plan to reduce crime, secure our borders, keep out drugs, and protect Americans without playing politics. There'd be no chanting "Build the wall" or "lock her up:" from his rally cronies, but the sycophant Republicans would jump up every few sentences to offer a standing ovation. Don't imagine Democrats would stoop to heckling and badgering the Commander in Chief in that venue during his speech, for fear of looking petty. Base would be energized, opponents would be unimpressed, media talking heads on both sides would offer their partisan takes in round table opinion forums, actual news would not be reported. Shutdown would continue, 800,000 would still go without paychecks. Lather, rinse, repeat. Edited January 24, 2019 by TrueBlue4ever bustamente, The Unknown Poster and bb.king 2 1

JCon Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 Trump can still deliver the State of Union as he is required to do. He does not need to make a speech, he can deliver a written document. But, that would deny Trump the opportunity to stand up front and repeat his lies and hate speech. Tracker and The Unknown Poster 1 1
do or die Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 (edited) Today's quotations from around the Trump Rabbit Hole: Commerce Secretary Wilber Ross (who is worth roughly 700 million dollars): "I don't really quite understand why federal employees impacted by the shutdown are having to use food banks". He added that "They should be able to get a loan." Senator Mike Rounds (R): It's not "palatable" for many federal workers to take out loans for financial assistance during the ongoing partial government shutdown. Edited January 24, 2019 by do or die
Tracker Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 The meeting dates of the grand jury impaneled to support the special counsel’s office are as inscrutable as what goes on inside the chamber. But Washington Post legal specialist Spencer Hsu reports: The meeting dates of the grand jury impaneled to support the special counsel’s office are as inscrutable as what goes on inside the chamber. But Washington Post legal specialist Spencer Hsu reports that the jury has entered an unusual Thursday session—the first such session since July 12. That July session was followed the next day by a series of indictments. In that case, those indictments were against a dozen Russian intelligence operatives who were involved in hacking the email servers at the Democratic National Committee. The Thursday session has apparently featured an appearance from Andrew Stettner. Stettner is the stepson of professional conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi. Corsi was one of the first to push the idea that Barack Obama had been born outside the United States, and was a frequent guest and author in right-wing media pushing the “birther” myth. Corsi is also an associate of Trump adviser Roger Stone, and met with and worked with Stone during the Trump campaign. Corsi has previously been subpoenaed by Robert Mueller’s investigation to detail his conversations with Stone during the 2016 campaign and his knowledge of contacts with WikiLeaks. While Stone famously made public predictions about upcoming documents from WikiLeaks, it appears that at least some of the information spread by Stone came through emails that originated with Corsi. Corsi has also been subpoenaed to appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee as part of that body’s investigation into connections between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.
bustamente Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 All this hardship for a President stroking his ego and wanting a monument built for him, he owns this shutdown, he said it unless Guiliani says he didn't, stare into his eyes and let him dazzle you with all his bs, but the real shame is all the Senators who should of never let it get this far they should be strung up.

TrueBlue4ever Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 It's somewhat astonishing after all of Trump's lying, highly questionable moral behaviour, allegations of conspiracy, suspect financial manouvres, and general political shock tactics including, but hardly limited to: - perpetuating a conspiracy theory about the birth origin of a sitting US President, withholding his tax returns, insulting other politicians with everything from childish nicknames to out and out accusations of their parents' involvement in Presidential assassinations, repeated unproven accusations of criminal activity by his political opponent, made regular demeaning comments about women, their appearance, their intelligence, their character, their menstrual cycles, and their date-ability, up to boasting about openly sexually assaulting them just because he could as a rich guy, mocked a disabled reporter, mocked the family (especially the mother) of a deceased Iraq war soldier, insulted military veterans, military generals, transgender military personnel, a sitting US senator who was a POW, praised neo-Nazis as good people, would not denounce hate groups that supported him, even after one of them committed a murder by ramming their car into a group of people, encouraged a foreign power to hack his political rival's e-mail server, associated with a host of now convicted felons regarding his election campaign, encouraged citizens at his rallies to incite violence against those who spoke up against him, encouraged an NRA member to "take care" of his chief political rival, pulled out of a worldwide climate agreement, met with a dictator who had threated nuclear annihilation against the USA and brokered away US military presence in the region for a vague promise of nuclear de-escalation with no oversight to ensure its progress, bowed down to another dictator who corrupted the US elections and undermined his own intelligence reports in the process, used the government and his foreign political connections to line his own pockets financially, insulted, discredited, and out and out lied about and to the media at almost every turn, supported a foreign leader who was complicit in the murder of an American citizen by all accounts, has bashed his intelligence and police service for corruption and "witch hunts", and has essentially admitted to obstructing justice, that the one thing that has stuck is his one big attempt at accountability: "I will proudly shut down the Government for border security. I will own the shutdown, and I won't blame you for it" This is his "Read my lips, no new taxes" moment Just shows that money rules all - be a sexist, bigoted, criminal, morally bankrupt, corrupt individual, and citizens can overlook it if their personal circumstances are good enough (more money in my pocket from a tax break, and my job isn't threatened by outsiders), but hit them in the pocketbook (higher taxes, or put me out of a job and withhold my paycheck) and there is no forgiveness.
