SpeedFlex27 Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 (edited) Electrocuting a 14 year old innocent kid with 5400 volts to the head??? Reminds me of a song from 1973 called That's The Night That The Lights Went Out In Georgia written by Reba McIntyre with the lyrics: "The Judge said guily in a make believe trial Slapped the Sheriff on the back with a smile Said supper's waiting at home and I gotta get to it." Amazing how in 1944 they overlooked the weight of the beam yet figured it out 70 years later? It doesn't take Perry Mason to have known the teen couldn't have lifted the beam as it would have been too heavy for him. Those fuckers knew at the time. The boy's lawyer knew. The Prosecutor knew. The Judge knew. The jury knew. The cops knew. The people in the courtroom knew. The reporters knew. They all knew but just didn't care. He was black & that was all that mattered. Two little white girls were killed by someone else. The real murderer may have walked among that community for another half century. Thing is, they let the real guilty person get away with it. But they got their kind of justice & that's all that mattered. Edited June 1, 2020 by SpeedFlex27

Tracker Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 The Pastor Who Called Trump's White House ‘Holy Ground’ Is Raking in the Bucks ‘IN THE NAME OF JESUS’ When Trump told her he was running for president and wanted her to be his “bridge” to the Christian right, she introduced him to 30 or 40 pastors at a time. The One Voice Prayer Movement launched out of the White House a year ago by Pastor Paula White is a case study in how to leverage religious connections for political gain. Appointed special adviser to the Office of Faith and Opportunity initiative by President Trump, White is mobilizing religious-right leaders to promote Trump’s Reopen America message and defend his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. White’s supporters see her as an agent sent by God to ensure Trump’s re-election, and she claims to have had a “divine encounter” at the White House that gave her “every authority to declare the White House as holy ground because I was standing there and where I stand is holy.” https://www.thedailybeast.com/pastor-paula-white-who-called-trumps-white-house-holy-ground-is-raking-in-the-bucks?ref=home

do or die Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 Obama pens an essay on the situation today: "Throughout American history, it’s only in response to protest that the political system has even paid attention to marginalized communities," he said. "But eventually, aspirations have to be translated into specific laws and institutional practices — and in a democracy, that only happens when we elect government officials who are responsive to our demands." "The bottom line is this: if we want to bring about real change, then the choice isn’t between protest and politics. We have to do both," "Change would be most impactful at the local level. The elected officials "who matter most" when it comes to reforming police departments and the criminal justice system work as state, city and county officials." Voter turnout in these local races is usually pitifully low, especially among young people — which makes no sense given the direct impact these offices have on social justice issues, not to mention the fact that who wins and who loses those seats is often determined by just a few thousand, or even a few hundred, votes,." Think about the specific changes we want for their local criminal justice system and police department. The more specific the demands are, the harder it will be for elected officials to just "pay lip service." “It’s natural to wish for life ‘to just get back to normal’ as a pandemic and economic crisis upend everything around us, but we have to remember that for millions of Americans, being treated differently on account of race is tragically, painfully, maddeningly ‘normal’ The Unknown Poster, blue_gold_84, Tracker and 2 others 5
The Unknown Poster Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 Obama could be the difference make this election. Well, really he shouldnt be. But he will be great at shoring up Biden's weak spots. Biden is just the avatar for the moderates and lefts. A surely one term President who will help bring people together and heal a nation before turning it over to younger more progressive leadership. Its interesting that Obama swept to victory on a campaign of change and hope. And you see him invoking the same things now. The US is far more in need of change and hope than when Obama ran.

It has been said that the reason that America has become so polarized is that between Faux News, the GOP and now Trump, the neo-fascists and racists have become comfortable in coming out into the light. The mainstream media is not blameless. They have bent over backwards to present opposing points of view, even when one of them is as diseased as the alt-right, giving more legitimacy to who were fringe lunatics before. Tracker Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 Ex-FBI official slams Bill Barr for ignoring the right-wing ‘Boogaloo Bois’ infiltrating protests Attorney General Bill Barr was slammed by the former assistant director for counterintelligence at the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Saturday for misleading Americans about the source of violence at the protests over the killing of George Floyd while in police custody. “There’s evidence developing, Brian, that the organization we’re seeing of the most violent protesters is coming from a couple of disturbing places,” both, by the way, there’s disparate in terms in being from the right or the left. here’s what those who monitor these groups and sites are seeing. We’re seeing a far-right group, one group for example known as the Boogaloo Bois, who on their private Facebook page and social media outlets are calling for violence, calling for people to show up,” Frank Figliuzzi told MSNBC’s Brian Williams. https://www.alternet.org/2020/05/ex-fbi-official-slams-bill-barr-for-ignoring-the-right-wing-boogaloo-bois-infiltrating-protests/
17to85 Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 Trump is so dumb and weak that he thinks you just brutalise protestors to get them to stop. He clearly doesn't understand why these protests are happening. Just a pathetically weak human being that thinks being a bully is being strong. Strength is Joe Biden going to a protest and showing understanding. Strength are the police who joined the protestors. Weakness is cowering in a bunker, or hiding behind your tough guy security detail or screaming from safety to hurt people. If there was a guideline for showing leadership in times of crisis Trump always does the opposite. It is staggering to me that he can be so incapable. I mean surely you would think that he would even accidentally do the right thing at least once... but everything has been a complete disaster. He had the easiest job in the world coming out ahead with the pandemic and these protests, but he fumbled both of them because he let his ego get the better of him. Doing the right thing would have made people look at him in the light he wants to be seen in, instead he acted like a monkey throwing **** everywhere.
