New York Times: Trump asked advisers about possible strike on Iranian nuclear site...

Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley were among the senior advisers who convinced the President not to pursue a military strike, according to the paper. They cautioned that such an attack could easily balloon into a full-fledged confrontation in his final days as president, the Times reported.

2019 Was The Deadliest Year For Hate Crimes On Record, New FBI Data Shows
The overall number of hate crimes also rose to a 10-year high, even as fewer law enforcement agencies bothered to report their statistics.

By Christopher Mathias, HuffPost US

More people were killed in hate crimes last year in America than in any year since 1992, when the FBI first started recording such killings, new data shows.

Fifty-one people lost their lives to hate crimes in 2019, according to annual statistics the FBI released on Monday. That’s a 112% increase over the year before.

Biden's big mistake: Trump can't be allowed to escape legal consequences

President-elect Joe Biden is privately telling his advisers that he doesn't want investigations of Donald Trump to dominate his presidency, according to NBC News. Biden fears wide-ranging inquires would both serve as a distraction from his agenda and alienate Trump's base at a time when Biden hopes to unify the country.

This is the biggest drawback to Joe Biden. He is a middle ground, reach across the aisle type and the Republicans simply don't reach back.

The USA needs someone who will play the same games the Republicans do and string em up for all their ****. Because next time the wannabe dictator they pick won't be as inept as Trump.

I’m not opposed to what he’s saying at this point in time. America is troubled in a big way. Biden has made it be known he wants to unite the country. He has a long way to go in this regard and plenty of problems to be dealt with. Why would he add another?
Save it.
There’s time to set it straight.

Besides, Trump will be taken care of by others. The Republicans can wait.

Republicans are the problem, trump is just a symptom.

You can't unite the country when one side is responsible for the tribalism. It can't wait, the cancer that is the republican party needs to be fixed.

And I would agree...normally, but sometimes we have to take in extraordinary circumstances, like a massive epidemic running rampant in the country.
Priorities.
The Republicans will still be there once the US catches it’s breath.

Which is the problem... Moscow Mitch and the Republican controlled senate are sitting on their hands while people are faced with no jobs and an out of control pandemic. They are actively hurting the country through their unwillingness to do anything that isn't for the benefit of the 1%.

Those assholes in that party need to be dealt with right away because as long as they exist in their current form you will never unite that country.

Biden needs to leave it to his AG to appoint a special council with a transparent scope of investigation,  and just let that play out as it does with no input from him at all.

This would do both, keep him away from the fray and be consistent with "nobody is above the law"

I got to agree with this. A lot of bluster, little substance.
