Tracker Posted April 1, 2023 Report Posted April 1, 2023 Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) called for the prosecution of President Biden in response to the indictment of former president Trump. Greene tweeted: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene @RepMTG Impeach Biden. He’s given us every reason and the family banking records and more are giving us receipts. But now that the gloves are off.. Prosecute any and all crimes. Enough of this witch hunt bullshit. It has been a crazy couple of days in the news, but this tweet by Rep. Greene is worth looking at, not for her call to prosecute Biden, but for how she and many other Republicans view the justice system and American politics. Rep. Greene seems to want President Biden prosecuted because it would even the score with Trump. It is irrelevant that President Biden has not committed crimes. He must be prosecuted because Trump was indicted. In the view of Rep. Greene, the justice system isn’t about upholding the rule of law. The justice system in the United States exists to target political enemies and exact revenge for allies who will be potentially held responsible for wrongdoing. bustamente 1

Tracker Posted April 3, 2023 Report Posted April 3, 2023 Justice Department Has New Evidence In Trump Classified Documents Probe: Report The Justice Department has gathered new evidence in its investigation into former President Donald Trump’s removal of classified documents from the White House that may point to possible obstruction, The Washington Post reported Sunday. Sources familiar with the matter told the newspaper investigators are homing in on whether Trump attempted to impede the government’s efforts to recover sensitive documents from his Mar-a-Lago compound in Florida, or if he directed anyone to do so on his behalf. The Post reported federal investigators have gathered evidence that Trump might have sifted through boxes of documents after he received a subpoena to return them, possibly to keep some of the files despite the order. As part of the probe, the government has also obtained the emails and text messages of Molly Michael, a former assistant who worked for Trump in the White House and at Mar-a-Lago during the documents episode. Any case would hinge on investigators proving Trump intended to impede or obstruct the subpoena, which could prove difficult. The Post added the government has evidence the former president asked his lawyers for advice on how to keep the records he had in his possession, which could demonstrate his intent to do so. A Trump spokesman told the publication the ongoing investigation has “no basis in facts or law.” Trump "personally examined" boxes of docs out of a "desire to keep certain things in his possession," report says Special counsel Jack Smith's team has amassed new evidence of potential obstruction by former President Donald Trump in the Mar-a-Lago documents investigation, according to The Washington Post. Justice Department and FBI investigators obtained "particularly helpful" emails and texts from Molly Michael, a former Trump White House aide who followed him to Mar-a-Lago before leaving the job last year, according to the report. The messages "provided investigators with a detailed understanding of the day-to-day activity at Mar-a-Lago at critical moments," according to the Post, and have used the messages to help understand Trump's actions last year. Investigators are particularly interested in whether Trump may have obstructed government efforts to collect and return all sensitive materials that he took home to Mar-a-Lago, according to the report. Investigators have spent much of their time looking at what happened after Trump's advisers received a subpoena in May demanding the return of all classified documents. Investigators have found evidence that Trump "looked through the contents of some of the boxes of documents in his home, apparently out of a desire to keep certain things in his possession," sources familiar with the investigation told the Post. The team now suspects that Trump "personally examined" at least some of the boxes moved from a Mar-a-Lago storage area after the subpoena was served, based on witness statements, security footage and documentary evidence, the sources said. Though Trump's team handed over some documents, the FBI later discovered. https://www.salon.com/2023/04/03/feels-obstruction-y-experts-say-it-may-be-game-over-after-aide-gives-doj-key-evidence/ bustamente 1
Mark F Posted April 3, 2023 Report Posted April 3, 2023 Trump is quite good at expressing himself in ways that can have more than one meaning. One of his well practised skills.... part of the whole slippery style he has.

Trump never says “I did it” but says everything else to lead to only one reasonable inference being left, thinking he’s avoided an admission while still exerting his dominance with “but I am allowed to because I’m special, do it’s fine if I did”. Hannity’s abrupt tone shift and attempt to back away when he realizes what is happening, how his effort to provide cover has backfired, and how he is now powerless to stop it, is priceless. Tracker Posted April 3, 2023 Report Posted April 3, 2023 'A nightmare for Secret Service': Trump is hoping for 'kind of a Jesus Christ thing' with perp walk spectacle Former President Donald Trump is hoping his arraignment on Tuesday will be “kind of a Jesus Christ thing” as he plans to turn himself in during daylight hours at the Manhattan courthouse, Rolling Stone reports. According to a law enforcement official involved in security planning for the high-profile booking, Trump declined an option for a Zoom arraignment even as his Secret Service detail “argued in favor of holding the proceedings outside of court business hours, at night with minimal cameras and less risk.” “He wanted a perp walk, he wanted daylight hours,” the law enforcement official told Rolling Stone. “He wants to get out of the vehicle and walk up the stairs.” READ MORE:Trump believes being publicly 'handcuffed' for a 'perp walk' would be politically advantageous: report “This is a nightmare for Secret Service," the law enforcement source added. “But they can only strongly suggest — not order — that Trump enter through the secure tunnels.” A source “close to” the former president’s legal team said Trump is hoping to show his supporters that he’s “absorbing all this pain from all around from everywhere so you don’t have to. It’s kind of a Jesus Christ thing,” the legal team source said, describing it as “a powerful message” that tells the public “if they can do this to me they can do this to you.”

And his family all are in their own gross ways. Yet some idolize and/or explain it away and/or say yea but everyone's bad minimizing the severity of this. This is not being dramatic. This is not the same as other bad people in American Politics. This is really dangerous for all of us sane people. Any average American would be wasting away in a jail cell. Justice is not blind and there are people above the law. I have absolutely no confidence Justice will prevail here. If anything, and predictably already reported, this is just another grifting opportunity for him, his family and his enablers. Until these ghouls feel real hurt (hurt financially, hurt status wise and hurt their ability to be independent) they will continue to mock, smirk and giggle their way to the bank.
