Tracker Posted June 9, 2023 Report Posted June 9, 2023 Apparently Trump has not been telling even his attorneys the whole truth and they have been blindsided by the revelations that he ordered staff at Mar-A-Lago to move classified documents and even bragged about being in possession of classified documents while showing them to unauthorized people. His stupidity, arrogance and egotism knows no bounds. And the GOP rushes in once again to defend him. Better than Netflix. Mark F, bustamente and Wilbur 3

HardCoreBlue Posted June 9, 2023 Report Posted June 9, 2023 'Trump admitted on tape keeping a secret document that was never declassified, CNN reports, citing audio transcript'. So what? It drives me insane of how much room is given to this creature. Him saying it's de-classified didn't make it de-classified. So hearing him saying he didn't declassify it doesn't matter. Are we saying if he was on tape saying he de-classified lessens the seriousness of this?

Trump seems to have slipped into a dissociative state where he simply cannot accept or understand the seriousness of the charges against him or that he cannot bluster his way out. He is detached from reality.
Mark F Posted June 9, 2023 Report Posted June 9, 2023 (edited) Quite weird seeing the list in writing. "About a quarter of the classified/national security documents seized from MAL were found in Trump’s office. Hard for Trump to persuade anyone that he didn’t know about them, failed to maintain them with sufficient care, and chose not to return them." list is here. https://www.emptywheel.net/2023/06/09/defendant-1s-38-count-indictment/ Edited June 9, 2023 by Mark F

Tracker Posted June 9, 2023 Report Posted June 9, 2023 Here are some of the Trump indictment’s most shocking revelations Federal prosecutors unsealed a 49-page indictment against Donald Trump and his personal valet Walt Nauta, named a co-conspirator in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, on Friday. The twice-impeached, now twice-indicted former president was charged with 37 counts, including violations of the Espionage Act and obstruction of justice. Special counsel Jack Smith found evidence that Trump knowingly took classified materials after leaving the White House and haphazardly stored them or shared them with pals and political associates. Here are some of the stunning revelations: • Documents included details of the defense and weapons capabilities of US and foreign governments, US nuclear programs, and potential vulnerabilities to military attack for the US and its allies. • Trump stored his boxes containing classified documents in a ballroom, a bathroom and shower, an office space, his bedroom, and a storage room. • Some of those boxes were stored from January to March 2021 on a stage in the club's White and Gold Ballroom, which hosted events and gatherings during that period and were photographed, possibly by a guest. • Mar-a-Lago hosted more than 50 events, including weddings, film premiers and fundraisers, that drew tens of thousands of guests during the period the documents were stored in Trump's offices or other areas near public spaces. • In December, Nauta found several boxes containing highly classified materials had spilled from their boxes and took two photos, which he sent to another employee, who responded: "Oh no oh no." • Nauta falsely told investigators he didn't know the boxes had been brought to Mar-a-Lago for review after the National Archives asked for their return or where they had been stored: “I wish I could tell you. I don’t know. I don’t — I honestly just don’t know.” • The special counsel alleges that Trump endangered national security by sharing classified plans for a potential military strike on Iran, which was recorded and reveals that he knew he was not authorized to posses or discuss those materials: "Secret. This is secret information," he said. "Look, look at this." • In August or September 2021, Trump hosted a representative for his political action committee and mentioned that an ongoing military operation overseas was not going well, and he showed that person a classified map of the country but warned them not to get too close. • Trump met May 23, 2022, with his attorneys after the Department of Justice ordered him to return the materials to the National Archives, and the former president said: "I don't want anybody looking through my boxes, I really don't ... What happens if we just don't respond at all or don't play ball with them?" • The former president allegedly directed Nauta to move the documents to conceal them from his attorney, the FBI and the grand jury, and Trump allegedly suggested that his attorney hide or destroy some of the documents sought by the National Archives and caused a false certification to be sent claiming all those items had been returned. • He urged one of his attorneys to stash a classified folder in his hotel safe and hinted he should remove damaging information by making a plucking motion: "He made a funny motion as though -- well okay why don't you take them with you to your hotel room and if there's anything really bad in there, like, you know, pluck it out." bustamente, Fatty Liver and Mark F 3
Mark F Posted June 10, 2023 Report Posted June 10, 2023 funny. "In 2018 trump signed into law Section 1924 that upgraded wrongly moving classified material from a misdemeanor to a felony. Part of his tuff-guy/lock-her-up act aimed at Hillary." Tracker and JCon 2
Tracker Posted June 10, 2023 Report Posted June 10, 2023 GOP Congressmen All But Declare War After Trump Indictment At least two Republican members of Congress used alarmingly warlike rhetoric in response to the federal charges filed against Donald Trump on Thursday. The former president, who faces a 37-count indictment on charges such as conspiracy to obstruct justice and withholding a document or record, is expected to appear in court Tuesday. Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.), the tough-talking former Louisiana law enforcement officer who recently manhandled an activist on camera, instructed his Twitter followers to “Buckle up” in preparation for that day, in a dispatch that sounded like battlefield orders. Jeff Sharlet, a writer who also uses the platform, pointed out that “1/50K” refers to a common scale for military maps, and that “know your bridges” could be a reference to seizing key infrastructure. Tom Malinowski, a former Democratic congressman from New Jersey, also tweeted about Higgins’ post. “Most of this guy’s House GOP colleagues know he’s dangerous and unhinged, but they tolerate him. That is all,” Malinowski said. Another GOP congressman, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), was slightly more blunt. “We have now reached a war phase,” he tweeted Friday. “Eye for an eye.” https://www.huffpost.com/entry/clay-higgins-andy-biggs-republicans-war-trump-indictment_n_6483811fe4b04ee51a949865
Tracker Posted June 10, 2023 Report Posted June 10, 2023 KARI LAKE IS TRYING TO INCITE AN ARMED INSURRECTION FOR TRUMP Kari Lake was speaking at a Republican convention in Georgia on Friday night where she called for an armed attack against the United States in response to Trump’s indictment. According to Washington Post reporter Issac Arnsdorf: Kari Lake wasn’t hiding what she was trying to say. The most ardent Trump cultists like Lake have taken the most extreme position to defend Trump. Lake threatened the Attorney General of the United States, and by extension, the United States government, with armed violence if Donald Trump is prosecuted. Before the 1/6 attack on the Capitol, Lake’s comments might have been viewed as extreme and potentially dangerous political rhetoric, but in a post-1/6 America, her comments take on a different and more sinister context. The MAGAs are a minority in the United States. Trump and his supporters are losing. Their leader is about to go on trial and could be imprisoned for the rest of his life. When political extremists are a minority who can’t gain power through legitimate means, they often see violence as an acceptable path to power. Republicans as an entire party have not rushed to Trump’s defense. No red hats have taken part in mass protests on the streets around the country. No matter how often Trump tries to scare his supporters into action by claiming that the prosecutor is really coming after them, the people aren’t showing up. Kari Lake’s comments represent a dangerous extremist escalation that must be stopped before it can get started.
Tracker Posted June 10, 2023 Report Posted June 10, 2023 TRUMP MELTS DOWN AND CLAIMS HIS INDICTMENT IS A COVER UP FOR BIDEN STEALING MONEY Trump has become completely unhinged online and is claiming that his indictment is a cover-up for Biden stealing $5 million. (Biden didn’t steal $5 million). Trump posted on Truth Social: "Biden pressed Jack Smith to do this in order to take the pressure off the fact that they caught him stealing $5 Million. Biden was the one concealing and hiding documents at a level never seen before, including taking them from a SCIF while he was a Senator—unheard of! But Biden didn’t report anything to the Government, he got caught! This Case has nothing to do with the Espionage Act, it only has to do with the Presidential Records Act, and also the Clinton Socks Case. It is a SCAM!" Oh sure. That makes total sense. It was all a cover-up to protect…..what? Trump in that extreme panic state that he gets into where he starts tossing wild allegations like a deranged word salad in the hope that some nugget of sanity comes out for his supporters to hang on to. Trump’s story doesn’t work because Joe Biden didn’t make him take the documents from the White House. Joe Biden didn’t force Trump to lie and obstruct the National Archives to the point where they had to get the Department of Justice and the FBI involved. Everything that Trump is blaming on Biden was caused by his own poor decisions. Donald Trump doesn’t seem to understand that even though he is under federal criminal indictment, his social media posts can still be used against him. This might be the most non-1/6 out of control that Trump has ever been. The former president is losing it in real time on his own social media platform for the world to witness.

Apparently Trump showed projected battle plans for invading North Korea to Kid Rock. Also: emails between Trump's valet and a female abettor indicated she was active in hiding these documents. Ivanka had distanced herself from her father and his problems, so it appears that the (so far) unnamed co-conspirator) is none other than Lara Trump. In his stupidity and assumption that everyone around him would go to jail rather than inform on him, he overlooked that probability that the more people he involved in his misdeeds, the greater the chances that someone would crumble to save his/her own skin. Tracker Posted June 12, 2023 Report Posted June 12, 2023 TRUMP PROMISES TO PROSECUTE BIDEN IF HE RETURNS TO THE WHITE HOUSE Donald Trump promised to appoint a special prosecutor to prosecute President Biden, his family, and Democrats if he returns to the White House. Trump posted on Truth Social: "NOW THAT THE “SEAL” IS BROKEN, IN ADDITION TO CLOSING THE BORDER & REMOVING ALL OF THE “CRIMINAL” ELEMENTS THAT HAVE ILLEGALLY INVADED OUR COUNTRY, MAKING AMERICA ENERGY INDEPENDENT, & EVEN DOMINANT AGAIN, & IMMEDIATELY ENDING THE WAR BETWEEN RUSSIA & UKRAINE, I WILL APPOINT A REAL SPECIAL “PROSECUTOR” TO GO AFTER THE MOST CORRUPT PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA, JOE BIDEN, THE ENTIRE BIDEN CRIME FAMILY, & ALL OTHERS INVOLVED WITH THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR ELECTIONS, BORDERS, & COUNTRY ITSELF! Joe Biden just stated he never spoke to Attorney General Garland about Indicting his POLITICAL OPPONENT, who just happens to be leading him, by a lot, in the polls. Used to say the same thing about Hunter’s business partners, until that was revealed to be a lie! Met with them many, many times. CROOKED JOE & HIS THUGS ARE DESTROYING AMERICA!" Trump isn’t hiding it. The one consistent thing about Donald Trump is that he always tells the country what he is going to do before he does it. Trump is promising to throw his political enemies in prison. Trump ran as a populist in 2016, but he abandoned that snakeskin when he masterminded the Capitol attack, and now he is even more specific with his plan to trash democracy. Trump thinks that everyone is as corrupt as he is. The former president assumes that Biden would abuse his power just as Trump has. The difference is one candidate (Biden) supports democracy and freedom. https://www.politicususa.com/2023/06/12/trump-goes-full-fascist-and-promises-to-prosecute-biden-if-he-wins.html
