Mark F Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 Quote It didn’t take long for the conspiracy theories to start spinning after a train carrying Republican lawmakers to a retreat crashed into a truck Wednesday morning in Virginia. What we know is that the chartered Amtrak train collided with a garbage truck at a road crossing over the tracks near Charlottesville, killing one of the truck’s passengers but leaving the dozens of GOP lawmakers and their staffs unharmed. NTSB officials are investigating on the presumption it was an accident. But InfoWars’ Alex Jones, who’s says President Trump calls him sometimes, and his friends are convinced there’s something sinister at work. As federal investigators headed to the scene, Jones declared on his show that the crash was a “kamikaze” attack on the GOP lawmakers aboard the train, which included senior figures like House Speaker Paul Ryan. “So this country is in a civil war,” Jones said. “You can believe this was on purpose. I mean, I’d say 98 percent chance. This is unbelievable.” do not know how many people follow Jones. The Unknown Poster 1
The Unknown Poster Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 Jones is nuts. Its mostly a schtick though. But people will believe it. If it was an attack, it was a poor one! Mark F 1

I think both sides, Republican and Democrat, need to figure that one out, and fast, otherwise the next president is going to be Mark Cuban, and then Kim Kardashian. It's not unprecedented for movie stars and TV stars to become politicians, but at least they started with being mayors or governors etc like Ronald Reagan or Sonny Bono. Jumping right into the presidency with zero experience is something the US needs to fix. Canada for that matter too.
Mark F Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 Quote Donald Trump has repeatedly assured the American public that he is not a racist. However, the immigration policies he proposed during his State of the Union address on Jan. 30 would dramatically cut the number of black and Hispanic immigrants, according to an analysis by the Center for Global Development. The number of Hispanic and black immigrants who come under those two programs would drop by more than 60% under the proposed changes; the number of white immigrants, by 43%, according to the center’s data. https://qz.com/1193135/immigration-reform-data-shows-how-racist-trumps-immigration-proposals-are/

The Unknown Poster Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 Lots of chatter that the report is a nothing. Which would be why trump is waiting until Friday to release it. Mark F 1
Mark F Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 This article has a good summary of previous similar Trump efforts. Quote The memo is still not public—it could be released as soon as Friday, with the White House close to approving the memo with some redactions—but it’s a good bet it won’t provide Trump the vindication he seeks. The reasons for that are both specific to the memo, but also endemic to his presidency, in which successive items have been presented as Trump’s great hope, only to dissolve upon the slightest scrutiny. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/02/the-many-failed-vindications-of-donald-j-trump/552089/ Wanna-B-Fanboy and The Unknown Poster 2

He sees it as hurting the FBI and thus, any investigations into him. But if its all about Carter Page, who was on counter-intelligence radarfor years before joining the Trump team, thats not really helpful. Plus, the only bias in the FBI was in favor of Trump through the New York office. Mark F 1
Mark F Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 (edited) One redeeming thing about all of these efforts to derail investigations, is that so far, people appointed to the FBI and Dpt of Justice, have been ethical, and done their job honestly, even those appointed by Trump. Notwithstanding huge pressure on them from Trump, from the Senate, from pro Trump very loud media, and from part of the public that loves Trump no questions asked. Edited February 2, 2018 by Mark F

do or die Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 (edited) Read this historic document. Found out that: 1. FISA court re-authorized a warrant (from 2013) on Page - who has been a person of interest to counter-intelligence for years..... as a person that a Russian intelligence agent, Victor Podobnyy tried to recruit as a spy, according to court documents when Dobodnyy and two other Russians were charged with working as agents for Russian intelligence in 2015. 2. Steele, like a lot of Brits... didn't like Trump. That assertion in the memo is that the FISA application depends "largely" on the Steele dossier. It plays too much on the fact that the Steele dossier was paid for, in part, by FBI, Clinton and DNC but makes no mention that it was initiated by a conservative news outlet. Considering that this particular memo WAS actually tweaked and facts cherry picked to place the worst possible light on the FBI..........by simply questioning and making claims about the actionable intel, for reauthorizing this warrant.....then it is pretty thin gruel indeed..... Putin is lying on a bed, somewhere....watching 3 TV's....with Vodka and and the Russian equivalent of Cheetos.......simply laughing his ass off. The Unknown Poster Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 The other take away is this, even if they did rely on bad intelligence to get a FISA warrant, which is not true (and its not that hard to get a FISA warrant and Page certainly had enough dirt to warrant one), the fact is, the warrant served a useful purpose. Using sources like Steel is routine. This is so obviously partisan desperate nonsense. if there is "nothing" to this, why are they so determined to prevent Mueller from finding...nothing?
