At this point it looks like Trump is just throwing  **** against a wall to see what sticks, he's getting bad advice from his Fox Cronies because he doesn't know nothing about anything and was not smart enough to get people in his inner circle that did, now he is just flaying away taking shots at anybody and everybody.

One of the issues is no one wants to work for him.  He bragged that they'd have the best people and then brought in cronies and kids.  And now its so bad, the best people want nothing to do with the admin and who can blame them.

Even Bush was smart enough to hire smart people (politics aside).  Thats what you do.  But with trump, you have to support the fallacy that he's the smartest man in every room on every subject.  And former President's say that they might, in the moment, hate being told they're wrong but its very important.

I read a story about former Chief's of Staff meeting with trump's before he took office to offer advice and Obama popped into the meeting and said he's never been more angry then when arguing with his CoS but its important the staff feels comfortable offering different opinions and various options....cant do that in Trump's admin.

There was a story last week that said Trump acknowledges that Jared & Ivanka are an issue and not up to snuff but he wont fire family.

Why do people endure great danger to get into the US ?

Pretty obvious to me, but here's an opinion from someone whose job it is to work on this issue. Most migrants are from "the triangle" not Mexico.

What is critical in Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala is reducing violence and promoting economic opportunity. It is a vicious cycle. There is a lack of investment because of the violence and insecurity, and so there are fewer jobs. This has perpetuated the push factors that are causing people to leave Honduras as well as El Salvador and Guatemala. You need a strong border, but at the same time the border should be the last chance to prevent unauthorized people from entering the United States. Unless the impetus to leave the country changes it doesn’t matter how strong a border the United States has when people are without hope, opportunity, worried about survival, fleeing violence—domestic as well as gang violence. Conditions can be so bad in certain communities of the Northern Triangle that it doesn’t matter how tough the journey north is, if you’re living a life of such despair you are going to migrate.

good article.

The third Pruitt ethics revelation of the day comes via CBS. Shortly after taking his job, Pruitt was stuck in traffic and asked the head of his security detail, Special Agent Eric Weese, to turn on his sirens to clear cars off the road. Weese, a 16-year veteran of the agency, told Pruitt that sirens were only used for emergencies. Pruitt fired him.

Fox is very upset. Hannity called it a new low. Think about that. All of trumps behaviour and scandals. Investigators.  Etc. And a joke about being stuck in an elevator is the “new low”.

This is why right wing media isn’t taken seriously.

Are all Republicans stupid? What did they expect?

Senators from states reliant on farming are pushing the president not to implement his proposed levies, which are designed to punish alleged unfair trade practices by China.

"He's threatening to light American agriculture on fire," Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., said in a statement Thursday night. "Let's absolutely take on Chinese bad behavior, but with a plan that punishes them instead of us.

This is the dumbest possible way to do this."

FBI raids Cohen’s office.

How could anyone this incompetent collude with anyone else to pull off anything?

Obviously, the quality of people that Trump surrounds himself with should exonerate him. They can't even get the simple stuff right.

Here's some **** coming down the pipeline on to American people

NYT

Quote

WASHINGTON — The federal government’s annual budget deficit is set to widen significantly in the next few years, topping $1 trillion in 2020 despite healthy economic growth, according to new projections from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released Monday.

The national debt, which has topped $21 trillion, is expected to soar to more than $33 trillion in 2028. By then, debt held by the public will almost match the size of the nation’s economy, reaching 96 percent of gross domestic product, a higher level than any point since just after World War II and well past the level that economists say could court a crisis.

even I know debt 96 percent of GDP , is nutso.

Republicans (trillion dollar tax cut just passed) are serving up one hell of a a big mess.

It's the same game plan as they use for leveraged byouts. except instead of stiffing creditors and employees, they will stiff the American public, cutting public services of all kinds, when it hits the fan.

Apparently the White House is losing their minds and saying Mueller went rogue.

Their narrative will be that mueller was only supposed to investigate Russia collusion. Of course we know he had the authority to investigate any crimes he becomes aware of.

GOP didn’t seem to mind when Democrat Edwards was charged with campaign fraud. That’s what they will get Cohen on.

And I’d trump lies under oath to the affair with Daniels, just like clinton it will be sex that gets him impeached.

But Cohen could also have materials that show many other things.

Definitely a major development today.
