Trump thought that AG Barr was going to protect him, today AG Barr made it worse for Trump and for himself, history will not be kind for both these two, I also don't think that the Democrats will move to impeach, they have more than enough material on Trump to use against him in the next election to sway back all the fence sitters that voted for Trump, at this point the Republicans should be worried about losing the Senate thanks to Trump and the stupidity of several Republican senators. If the Democrats hold on to the House take back the Presidency and win the Senate some people might find themselves in a big mess that they contributed to.

It might be a better strategy to use this in the election.  If the Dems win they can lay bare all of trumps crimes.  If they lose they still have impeachment in their pocket.   As another AG said, this evidence is there for the day trump is no longer president too....for criminal prosecution.

Barr has stained his career forever now.

Disagree. He's in the Republican party. They don't do "stained careers"

There is nothing too slimy for them, as long as they think it benefits them.

Seth Abramson has an epic tweet thread going.  Over 300 now.  Worth a perusal

A few note worthy items:

A remark about the man behind the dossier.  That dossier, by the way, has been largely confirmed as true. Nothing has been proven false. The only things not confirmed, like the pee tape, hasn’t been proven false.

Even Rudy admitted this months ago when he thought trumps goose was cooked. He said collusion isn’t a crime.  Congress will decide that. But it’s worth noting that trump and his campaign absolutely colluded with Russia.   It’s all over the report.

It’s amazing that Barr thought his BS summary was going to stand.  He’s either really dumb, which he isn’t, or just damned determined to carry trumps water. Imagine that being your career zenith.

It explains a few things.  The week before the report was submitted, Barr knew about it. Which means trump did. It explains why trump went ballistic on twitter for a few days.

It explains why he also did this week when it became clear Barr couldn’t hide enough of the report from congress to make a difference.  It does raise questions about the unusual meeting between Barr and the Sec of State last night.

John Dean, nixon’s White House lawyer, compared this report to the Nixon special counsel, Iran Contra and Clinton Special counsel and said this one was far more damning then any of them.  That’s shocking.

Funny how quiet the trump lovers are. Hahaha

Waited a day.

Modern media's first take is always wrong .

But my prediction was 100% accurate.

Collusion-Truthers have entered full blown batcave conspiracy.

Like JFK and 911 etc they wallow in group think. Find comfort there.

"The evidence is so obvious...why don't people see it!!!!" Is the common reaction.

No collusion, no obstruction. Almost 3 years to find it. Couldn't do it.

Even corrupt, biased beurocrats who schemed to find something couldn't find ANYTHING .

Game over in the real world. Truthers don't live in the real world however.

The man could kill someone on the front lawn of the WH and Trumpkins would defend him. These people want a dictator to tell them what to do and what to think. Little minds.

You are seriously using 911 to make a point? A conspiracy theory that is easily disproved by the most basic physics...

Turns out that Mueller referred 14 cases of potential criminal activity to outside offices because the cases were “outside the scope of the special counsel’s jurisdiction,” according to the report.  Somehow, Barr completely missed that little tidbit, in both his instant summary, and press conference.   No mention of the statement that "the behavior of witnesses tied to the Trump campaign “materially impaired” parts of the investigation."

In fact, there are plenty of incidents in there, showing how for over more than two years, Trump tried to pressure law enforcement officials, back-channel to witnesses and deter inquiries into his relationship with Russia.

Barr claimed that Mueller’s team could not decide whether Trump had obstructed justice, leaving the decision up to the attorney general.   Yet the report states that the special counsel’s office held back from offering a conclusion because they would not be able to charge Trump on obstruction (as I already pointed out) due to the Justice Department opinion that sitting presidents could not be indicted. Also the report noted that if Mueller found clear evidence that Trump didn’t obstruct justice, he would’ve cleared him of it.

Barr has significantly and deliberately...... misled Congress and the public, in his assessment of whether Trump obstructed justice.

But then again, he was just doing the job, he was placed in there to do.
Working for Trump, instead of the DOJ, and the rest of the American people.

Comparing criminal indictments of those serving in the executive branch of presidential administrations, broken down by president and the numbers.

In the last 50+ years Democrats have been in office for 25 of those years while Republicans held it for 28.

In their 25 yrs in office Democrats had a total of three executive branch officials indicted with one (1) conviction and one prison sentence. that's one whole executive branch official convicted of a crime in two and a half decades of Democrat leadership.

In the 28 yrs that Republicans have held office over the last 53yrs they have had a total of 120 criminal indictments of executive branch officials, 89 criminal convictions, and 34 prison sentences handed down.

I was thinking the same thing, but then there is a lot to digest. And there was a Jets game last night. I have been watching CNN, and my take is that a lot of Democrats are reluctant to proceed to impeachment, despite a lot of goading from Wolf, Chris, Jake and Don. May be smarter to just use in the upcoming election as impeachment is pretty tough even with a smoking gun.
