Buono, on the Lions and all their free agents.. that's the way of the CFL now. We were right up against the cap, and there will be tough decisions going forward...
....and
“Depth is critical and the salary cap makes it tough,” Buono said. “When you look at other teams, maybe they have more depth because they have fewer players who make big, big money.

“You look at the Calgary Stampeders. You wonder why they’re good. Well, they’re built on a different format. They have more depth. They have more players they pay full salaries to because they don’t have the high-price guys that take up a lot of the cap.”

"We know the value of Solomon, so that’s not going to be the issue,” Buono said. “The issue is we have a cap, we’re right up against it this year and obviously there is going to be some tough decisions going forward.”
?‍?My prediction - Elimimian will 'adjust' his salary expectations to allow the Lions to keep some key pieces in place.

No @cfl #cfl news breaking this week but @DC_CHILLIN_8 Duron Carter has narrowed his focus to @calstampeders @EdmontonEsks @sskroughriders

Stamps started nine Canadians in West final. They can afford a second import on offensive line

?‍?Maybe the hosts for the Grey Cup each year will have learned, from 3 straight years of slow sell-outs, that prices for seats should be set according to Canadian standards, and not for profit planning...(create demand - not supply)

?‍?I'll be pulling for the UnderDog RedBlacks on Sunday....it's not like I'm not used to pulling for the underdog over the last few years...

for price of poker in a league with no guaranteed contracts if I was a GM & could sign @DC_CHILLIN_8 Duron Carter - huge talent - absolutely
?‍?Rumour is...Roosevelt to Edmonton for Franklin, then Riders sign Carter (according to Rider fans) - but then why wouldn't they (Edmonton) just sign Carter?
?‍?Personally, I'd just keep Roosevelt.

“Scott [Milanovich] honestly lost the room—worst locker room I’ve ever been a part of,” a current Argo states. “The one group who never got blamed and never accepted responsibility was the coaches—it was always the players’ fault. To the media they said the right things to take blame, but in the room they never did. They never made us feel like we were in this together. It created an environment of veterans not trusting coaches, coaches not trusting veterans, and young players’ heads spinning with what to do and who to go to for guidance."

Per sources: SirVincent Rogers, the top #CFL OL in 2015, has signed a two-year (1+1) extension with the #RedBlacks. Big signing for Ottawa.

Trevor Harris is set to make $400,000 nest season: $285,000 base salary, $15,000 housing and he’s due a $100,000 roster bonus on Feb. 1.

Conversely, Hank’s current pact has him making $200,000 in base salary and a possible $80,000 in playtime bonuses next year. Despite the 41-year-old’s age, he continues to win the battle against father time, for now.

The numbers have salary cap implications as well: $600,000 in “guaranteed” money for a quarterback tandem is on the high-end for CFL teams. Calgary was within that range in 2016 with Hamilton, Toronto and Saskatchewan paying their top two signal-callers more than $515,000.

QB carousel talk heating up in @cfl #cfl. Durant and Nichols big free agent names but keep hearing about trade interest in James Franklin
?‍?I certainly can't speak for the Bombers, but it makes you wonder why the Big Blue haven't moved forward with Nichols. At least that we know of. After all, they've done it in the past.

The dream of playing QB in the CFL ended for Ottawa's Brad Sinopoli when he was beat out for the Stamps #3 job by Bo Levi Mitchell #CFL

The Bombers even cut down the amount of seating that they were going to have.

Prices were very high but I really wanted to attend. Didn't want to risk any Rider fans sitting in my seats!

Given the price they paid, I almost think they are stuck with Willy (at a reduced amount or not).

Can you imagine the reaction here if we traded away the 1st overall pick and then cut the guy we got in return after a couple games?  Then again, Toronto doesn't have any fans, so who would actually care? B)

I think the new head coach would probably say that the old coach made the decision to trade for Willy & he can't be responsible for the decisions of the previous regime while Jim Barker coughs uncomfortably in the background.

I have no doubt that's what they would say.  Milanovich may have pushed for it but ultimately Barker still holds the final word.

If Osh was to leave and take the Argos job, it would be ironic that he would be the coach to inherit that situation.

Sherrit over Elimimiam and Carter wide receiver all stars, interesting. As voted by their peers. And Elimimiam won most outstanding defensive player tonight.

6 Canadians, (I think) of whom three are Bombers.
