FrostyWinnipeg Posted January 3, 2017 Author Report Posted January 3, 2017 You play one till he loses then switch.

With the 2.39 GAA and .914 Save %? Helle is better than Hutch. I mean I guess we could just say well we dont have a goalie and rotate them every period. Or we could accept that Helle has the talent to be a starter, accept that he is the starter and treat him like one and let him develop. Im not sure publicly calling him below average and benching him against the best team in the league after a great performance against Chicago is the best coaching method. But what do I know. Floyd 1
Ducky Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Maurice said his play THAT GAME was below average and he was dead on.

Ducky Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 (edited) I think the Jets win 4-2 tonight and 5-2 if we get an empty net goal. I also think they come outta gates flying and will be all over TB. ESL should be well rested. The team has had time to practice. Postma and Chiarot battling to see who gets replaced. Copp should have a good game trying to show Maurice he deserves to stay. Maurice needs to keep the forwards' TOI down and play the 4th line more than 8 minutes... especially since we play FL tomorrow... He has a 4th line now, he should use it. I have noticed a LOT of the games we have played well in are games that all or most forwards played under 20 minutes. Staying outta the sin bin goes without saying. He also needs to keep Buff and Trouba around 24 minutes. edit ... Trouba seems to play better the more he plays and Buff the opposite... I think all 4 top D men could handle 24 minutes. Leave Postma/Chiarot with about 12 each ... It's a new year and if they have dreams of making the playoffs this season, tonight would be a really good place to start. Edited January 3, 2017 by Ducky

Im pretty sure I heard the "below average" remark BEFORE that game. When he was trying to explain his decision to start Hutch against the Jackets for no good reason other then "feeling" which, as it turned out, was just gas.
Ducky Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 (edited) I'm honestly not sure but both goalies have been below average so what's the problem? Maurice told the truth. He has also said the PK is struggling and has to get better too. Edited January 3, 2017 by Ducky
iHeart Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 okay so just a friendly reminder that tomorrow's game against Florida will be on one of the sportsnet channels because tomorrow is the WJ semis Ducky 1
FrostyWinnipeg Posted January 4, 2017 Author Report Posted January 4, 2017 Same lineup as Isles. What could go wrong?
iHeart Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 well the refs have come out to play early Ducky 1
FrostyWinnipeg Posted January 4, 2017 Author Report Posted January 4, 2017 Schief makes it 1-0 Ducky 1
Ducky Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 I am not a fan of all the borderline calls. Let the players play the game. BomberBall 1

Ducky Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 Down 3-1 without some big saves. Good in O zone...poor in D zone.

bustamente Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 Helle needs to control his rebounds better in the next 2 periods, this is a winnable game but the Jets need to get some sort of offence going. Ducky 1
Ducky Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 it's probably his weakest point. I am surprised that he hasn't learned how to steer them better. It's a pretty important part that position. We are losing this game tonight without him though so far.
