blue_gold_84 Posted September 10, 2020 Report Posted September 10, 2020 Former Finance Minister Morneau in more hot water: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/morneau-elections-commissioner-1.5718605 Quote Bill Morneau violated a part of the Canada Elections Act last summer when he promoted prospective Liberal candidates during the lead-up to the federal election while acting in his capacity as minister, says the commissioner of Canada elections. ...Morneau participated in a roundtable discussion with local business owners and residents, toured a clothing factory and met leaders of the Muslim community with then-prospective candidate Anita Anand. During his speech, Morneau singled out Anand. "When such a person steps forward for public life — with significant accomplishments in their private-sector life — I think it's important that ... we support them and encourage them," Morneau said, according to the commissioner's findings. Anand went on to win the Oakville riding and has since been promoted to a cabinet position. On Aug. 27, just two weeks before the official start of the 2019 campaign, Morneau toured a Caledon-area business — again, in his role as minister — where he posed for photos with Michele Fisher, the Liberal candidate for Dufferin-Caledon. Elections Commissioner Yves Côté said that also contravened the act. Morneau, who announced his resignation as finance minister and MP for Toronto Centre last month, must pay a $300 fine. His riding association has now paid back the costs of the two events — about $1,661. Morneau must also post a copy of the commissioner's findings on his personal website or social media channels. The commissioner says there is no indication Morneau meant to use public resources for partisan purposes or that he was involved in planning the tours. Pretty measly punishment. Hardly surprising, though.

Anders faces five charges laid earlier in September under the Income Tax Act with offences alleged between 2012 and 2018, as first reported by the National Post on Tuesday. The former Calgary West MP held his seat from 1997 to 2015, first for the Reform Party and then for the Conservative Party. He faces: Three charges of making a false or deceptive statement for the tax years 2012, 2013 and 2014. One charge of obtaining or claiming a refund to which he was not entitled or in amounts greater than to which he was entitled for the tax years 2012, 2013 and 2014. One charge of evading payment of taxes between April 1, 2012, and June 30, 2015. Prosecutor Tyler Lord said the Crown will proceed summarily — meaning if Anders is found guilty, the penalties are less than proceeding by indictment. If convicted, Anders could face up to two years in jail and fines between 50 and 200 per cent of the evaded taxes. blue_gold_84 Posted October 1, 2020 Report Posted October 1, 2020 https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-infrastructure-pandemic-recovery-mckenna-1.5746029 Quote The Liberal government is spending $10 billion on infrastructure initiatives such as broadband, clean energy and agricultural projects — part of a plan to boost growth and create one million jobs after the pandemic pummelled the economy. Trudeau said the three-year plan is expected to create 60,000 jobs. The plan has five major initiatives: $2.5 billion for clean power to support renewable generation and storage and to transmit clean electricity between provinces, territories and regions, including northern and Indigenous communities. $2 billion to help connect about 750,000 homes and small businesses to broadband in under-served communities. $2 billion for large-scale energy efficient building retrofits. $1.5 billion for agriculture irrigation projects to boost production, strengthen Canada's food security and expand export opportunities. $1.5 billion to speed up the adoption of zero-emission buses and charging infrastructure. Wideleft Posted October 13, 2020 Report Posted October 13, 2020 (edited) Health ministry to cut 11,000 AHS jobs to save $600M annually after three years Watch Live at 10 a.m.: Alberta plans to cut 11,000 Alberta Health Services jobs following a review in an effort to save $600 million annually. Lauren Boothby Publishing date: Oct 13, 2020 • Last Updated 45 minutes ago • Alberta plans to cut 11,000 Alberta Health Services jobs following a review in an effort to save $600 million annually. No layoffs are anticipated for front-line clinical staff including doctors and nurses, Health Minister Tyler Shandro told Postmedia Monday, but his office confirmed around 800 jobs would be lost through attrition over the next three years. The bulk of AHS jobs lost — about 9,700 positions — will come from outsourcing jobs in laboratories, housekeeping, food services, and laundry. A minimum of one hundred management jobs will also be cut. ... Outsourcing to private vendors will account for AHS cutting 2,000 laboratory jobs, 4,000 housekeeping jobs, 3,000 food service jobs, and 400 laundry jobs. The province said around 70 per cent of lab results are already contracted out, as is about 68 per cent of laundry. https://edmontonjournal.com/news/politics/health-ministry-to-cut-11000-ahs-jobs-to-save-600m-annually-after-three-years Edited October 13, 2020 by Wideleft blue_gold_84 and Tracker 1 1

Where in Kenney's campaign literature did it say he was going to cut physicians salaries & treat them like ****?? Check the campaign promises below & tell me where he said he'd do that. It never came up during the election campaign so get off your constant whining you keep droning on about the way Alberta voted. It's clear now that we were lied to. At the same time, no one gives a **** if your feelings are butthurt. If you don't like it you have a choice. You can leave & find another job in another province. I didn't vote for Kenney to go after physicians or disabled people on AISH (which are provincial disabilty payments) which is despicable. Then again, poor & disabled people can't defend themselves or fight back against the Kenney government so they're easy targets whereas Trudeau can fight back so the bully Kenney backs off when challenged. A lot has changed since the provincial election. I voted for Kenney so Alberta would have a stronger voice when dealing with constitutional issues like equalization payments & the federal Liberal policies which clearly hasn't happened. That 70% (of which I am one) that you claim to hate are angry because we've been lied to. Turns out Kenney is a fraud, a snake as well as a coward in cowboy boots & a stetson. During the election he said he'd stand up for Albertans when it came to Ottawa which was another lie as he hasn't. I won't be voting for him again. I suspect a lot of people won't especially with the doctors dispute. He'll be giving the province back to the NDP in 2 1/2 years. https://globalnews.ca/news/5014642/alberta-election-2019-united-conservative-party-campaign-promises/\ Edited October 15, 2020 by SpeedFlex27 Bigblue204 1

It was never a part of the UCP platform & you know it. Tell me exactly where they say they're going after physician's pay like they have. Give me the the exact quote from the campaign promises. You can't because it isn't mentioned. They didn't have the guts to say they'd go after physicians & people on AISH because they knew they wouldn't get elected. Kenney & the UCP told a mistruth. Not a lie because they never mentioned it during the last campaign. So just like your precious NDP who brought in a carbon tax immediately upon being elected in 2015. No mention of it during that campaign. It wasn't a lie but a mistruth. A carbon tax would have killed the NDP's chances to ever govern. They knew it so they never said a word until the throne speech opening their first legislative session in 2015. A coward's way to govern. Both parties. When Nutley was challenged by the media about the secret carbon tax she just shrugged her shoulders & went, "Oh well". That is why she was thrown out as people never forgot how they were snookered by the socialists & I'm hoping same thing happens to Cowboy Kenney. Bigblue204 1
