80% of the votes during the Convoy Party leadership went to the conspiracy nutters. It's an alt-right party.

I encourage anyone on this site to prove this statement otherwise.

I would love to hear 'the other side' to this, to read about what their well thought out evidence-informed specific political platforms are and how these proposed platforms will help out all types of Canadians with their diverse backgrounds and needs.

Trudeau is woke! Justinflation! Black face!

It bears repeating that there is nothing about a tolerant, just democracy that guarantees its continued existence. All intolerance/prejudice in every form needs to be challenged by as many of us as are able, despite our discomfort with confrontations. What diminishes one of us, diminishes all of us.

observation...

I think the Canadian extreme right wing might be getting help from Americans.

did anyone find out the source of the covid "convoy" donations? fox news was all over that.

That means infiltrating everything public, starting at the local level.

so vancouver island is having municipal elections.  There are people running in my town, who are maga , supporters of polievre.

the cagier of these people will lie, have no platform, hide their agenda, except for platitudes.

it worked in the states, it will work here.

so, pay attention to the local elections, and school boards. a look at candidate facebook etc, can be informative.

someone is helping these people is my hunch. we best watch out for them and try to prevent a foothold.

Oh they are thick as thieves with Republicans. We got mlas in Alberta who were involved in Maga ****.

There's a picture of the former interim leader of the Conservatives wearing a Maga hat. Goes completely with Candice Bergen's politics, so it should come as a surprise.

The MAGA/Antiaxxer movement has become a cult wherein the participants (except for the leaders) are completely emotionally and even financially invested in their beliefs much like evangelical adherents who, at the urging of their ministers, mortgage their homes and take out personal loans to donate to their churches. It closely  resembles a form of mania, not responding to logic, facts or any evidence that things are not as they believe.

I had a patient who was utterly convinced that his music (which was terrible) would be loved by any and all rock bands. He sold all his possessions and moved to the US, living in his car and going from one door to another until his money ran out. Even after he returned to Canada, he persisted in his beliefs.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. It’s all empty rhetoric and rage-farming.
There’s just no excuses anymore, for any decent human being to support the Conservative party in any way.

Yup. And for those that say I just plug my nose and vote for them because there’s no viable alternative, I call bull ****, you’re just not as vocal and forthright, self aware about you actually supporting this shite.

And my local Conservative MP predictably falling in line with a nice photo shoot of him and PP in our local paper saying how united they are. I hope it unites him right out office next election. I don’t hold my breath though but one can hope.

Maybe someone will start a real conservative party, now that the alt-right has assumed complete control of the party?

Haha, the alt-right, that's funny. Do you still think the boogeyman lives under your bed?  PP (who I'm not a big fan of) is pretty moderate fiscally, and very socially moderate.

Oh no! They supported a leader you don't like?  Who cares.  Alberta also has (had) MLAs who support communism and failed socialist dictators.  So what's your point about Alberta?

Moderate... yet openly courting alt-right movements like the trucker morons.... sorry spin harder.

And the list of criminal **** the MAGA fools tried and in some cases did pull off in the states is more than  just not liking a leader. They tried to take over the country with a kudeta.

I guess Jason Kenney is no longer minding the store in the AB. legislature, but what possible good can come from letting this moron off the leash?

Alberta's minister of labour and immigration has taken to social media to criticize Ottawa's "tyrannical" pandemic travel restrictions and thank "freedom convoys" for their efforts against them.

In a tweet responding to news about the federal government potentially ending COVID-19 border requirements, Kaycee Madu said the measure was "never was about science but about political control and power."

"Thanks to all those citizens, freedom convoys, who had the courage to mobilize against these tyrannical policies," read the remark on Madu's Twitter account on Tuesday.

AB always fanning the flames of disgruntlement then expecting us to embrace the latest "rock star" they send to Ottawa.

This one is from Mars.

Why does anyone care about what Madu says? He obviously wants to stay a cabinet minister even though he should be punted to the back benches which will probably happen. The UCP will hand the province back to the NDP anyway. This is a hard province to govern as Jim Prentice & Kenny found out. Both are federalists. That is a dirty word out here. Voters want their government to stand up to Ottawa & both talked tough but failed to do so which was a death sentence politically here. Both wanted to use their positions as Premier here to become Leader Of The Opposition in Ottawa & ultimately Prime Minister but both failed miserably.
