Residential school deniers tried to dig up suspected unmarked grave sites at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, not believing a May 2021 announcement from the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc that as many as 215 Indigenous children had been buried there, according to a new report. "Denialists entered the site without permission. Not all of us believe PeePee's lies. Split hairs if you want to. He is a member, one of 30, that oversees the Trudeau foundation and has been since 2018. If you think that whether he was currently on the BOD or not matters then you are just too partisan to see the forest through the trees and you can continue ignoring. You guys are really reaching for excuses now. It was a terrible decision to appoint Johnston and any criticism of it is completely and 100% warranted and is not partisan in any way, shape. or form. It was HYPER partisan of Trudeau to appoint him. On 2023-06-16 at 1:23 PM, JCon said: PP just needs to find enough idiots to vote for him. There seem to be many. blue_gold_84 Posted June 20, 2023 Report Posted June 20, 2023 https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/federal-byelections-ontario-quebec-manitoba-1.6881781 Quote Voters in the Montreal-area riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce–Westmount have elected Liberal Anna Gainey to Parliament. (results) Gainey beat Green Party co-leader Jonathan Pedneault, a political neophyte who was elected along with MP Elizabeth May last year to lead the party. Pedneault is on track to finish second. ...voters in the Manitoba riding of Portage-Lisgar have elected Conservative Branden Leslie to the House of Commons, CBC News projects. (results) Leslie had a commanding 69 per cent of the vote cast as of 10:30 p.m. ET — a tally that suggests he's likely to trounce his main opponent, People's Party Leader Maxime Bernier. ...Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre visited the riding and used rhetoric targeting the World Economic Forum — an international organization that has become a focus of many right-wing conspiracy theories online — during a stump speech. ...voters have returned school principal and former political staffer Ben Carr to represent Winnipeg South Centre the House of Commons, CBC News projects. As of 11:15 p.m., the Liberal had about half of the vote. (results) Carr was running to replace his late father, Jim, who died of cancer in December. Oxford, a largely rural riding in southwestern Ontario, has been held by a Conservative since the Progressive Conservative and Canadian Alliance parties merged in the early 2000s. (results) Longtime Conservative MP Dave MacKenzie triggered the byelection when he stepped down in January. In an unusual move, MacKenzie and his daughter have endorsed the Liberal candidate, David Hilderley... Speaking to the Canadian Press on Monday, MacKenzie said the party infighting has resulted in "the nastiest campaign that we've ever seen in our riding." Mad Max got dusted. Again. Wideleft Posted June 20, 2023 Report Posted June 20, 2023 This guy nails it: James Christian Parsons @Dred_Tory If you consider the sweep of "conservatism" in North America over the last 15 years--from Rob Ford's crack- & booze-addled misrule, to Trump's circus, to rock-throwing neo-Confederate "**** Trudeau" mobs, to Peterson's benzo-fueled meltdowns, to Romana Didulo's freakshow... ...it's hard not to conclude that "conservatism"--once a dignified political orientation with articulate exponents--is simply a burlesque pageant of human failure populated exclusively by the emotionally broken, socially maladaptive, and intellectually pauperised.
