Never ever voted NDP at any level. Just will not ever vote Jason kenney. I voted for the Alberta party last time. Rick Fraser was a very good candidate so I supported him. But ifngiven a choice between notley and kenney that's a no-brainer, as we are seeing now. Ucp just made 2 their health care something they officially support, pulling out of cpp is officially a party stance. Yeah you ucp supporters can get bent. You did this to us all through your ignorance and I won't let anyone forget.

Sometimes in a democratic election you don't get the results you like.  It feels like you've been punched in the face when the party you support loses. That is what living in a democracy is about. You live with it & try to change things in 4 years time. And then there is just plain STUPID which describes you as a voter. You actually wasted your vote on a fringe party that got just 9% of the popular vote. That has no real leader, no money, no identity, no real platform & no chance of ever electing another single MLA to the legislature. And you're criticizing me? That is a joke. A vote for the Alberta Party was really a vote for the UCP. Take that 9% & give it to the NDP & they'd have had 43% of ther popular vote instead of 34%. Maybe they'd have won or at the very least made the UCP a minority government. You & other Albertans who supported the Alberta Party helped Jason Kenney get elected. Now, I can say that I know someone who actually voted for the Alberta Party. Well done.... Lol.

I voted for the candidate. And no it wasn't a case of vote splitting. The idiot ucp candidate we had got more votes than all the other combined so it literally didn't matter.

I also completely reject the idea that there is a wasted vote. Vote for who you want not who might win. This is the voice we get and I will use it however I see fit.

You on the other hand bought the crap about the ucp being just the PCs so nothing bad will happen. Well how does that look in hindsight? I have no regrets voting for someone who was a PC but left the UCP because he could not stomach what they wanted to do. Do you have regrets in how you voted?

Side note:

You guys need to get some more education going on with your motor vehicle licensing, because: Alberta. has. The. Worst. Drivers. Ever.

I drove through there on my way to and back from Vancouver and holy ****, every driver that was aggressive and/or inconsiderate AF had Alberta plates. I have driven all over Canada and going through Alberta usurped the crown from the reigning champs: Quebec.

Yeah, Alberta drivers are worse than Quebec drivers.

Funnily enough I don't think it's an Alberta problem. Consider how many people moved here for work so you get people from all types driving with Alberta plates. But yeah drivers suck here. Very badly.

Also were they driving a giant truck? If so then rig pigs. Not exactly the best and brightest.

And the dogshit antics in Alberta continue: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/education-experts-slam-leaked-alberta-curriculum-proposals-1.5766570

Quote

Curriculum advisers hand-picked by the Alberta government are recommending changes to the kindergarten-to-Grade 4 curriculum for fine arts and social studies that would eliminate all references to residential schools and "equity."

The advisers also recommend that seven- and eight-year-olds learn about feudalism, Chinese dynasties and Homer's Odyssey in social studies classes.

The drafts, obtained by CBC News, include lengthy lists of names, landmarks and events for young children to memorize.

They say five- and six-year-olds in Grade 1 should be familiar with the artwork of Claude Monet, Georgia O'Keefe, Pablo Picasso and Edgar Degas.

They also say first graders should learn Bible verses about creation as poetry and fourth graders should learn that most non-white Albertans are Christians.

Curriculum experts familiar with the province's process say the suggestions are a huge departure from where work was heading before the United Conservative Party was elected in 2019.

Some education experts also say the proposed changes are regressive, racist, unsupported by research and would put Alberta's school curriculum vastly out of step with most of North America.

"I would say it would be a laughingstock," said Prof. Keith Barton, a specialist in social studies curriculum and instruction at Indiana University in Bloomington.

The parts about bible verses and creationism are utterly embarrassing. How shameful for anyone who voted in the MAGAt wannabe UCP.

70% of people voted for this because kenney was going to get us all back to work! Here we are years later and more and more people are having to leave oil and gas and the economy is still in the shitter. Good job Jason and every single person who voted for him.

So, you vote for the fringe party with a bunch of political rejects & you say it's okay but ignore the fact that 9% of the vote the Alberta Party received would have changed the outcome of the election for the NDP as the left's vote was split. You say that people are free to vote for the person they want. Then you turn around & criticize me for my choice . You're an idiot & a hypocrite.

Hey I am telling you why I voted the way I did. I am not saying you can't vote how you want, but I am telling you that by voting ucp you endorsed their current behaviors. You got what you voted for and you can't run away from it. The Alberta party didn't split the vote, it was over 70% in favour of the ucp. And in my particular riding as I said the ucp candidate got more votes than everyone else combined. The Alberta party didn't cause enough vote splitting to stop anything. Gullible albertans like you simply bought the lies kenney was selling.

You completely threw your vote away & in the end helped get Kenney elected. So, you lecturing me is a joke.

You voted for Kenney and his party. You actually directly supported the UCP and its leader and their dogshit policies.

You are the last person who should be throwing stones here, much less calling anyone else an idiot.

God are you stupid or just too lazy to read? The empty suit ucp candidate in my riding had more votes than all others combined. So unless I voted for him it was a throw away vote?

At least I didn't vote for theft and disminantaling of education and Healthcare. I may have thrown my vote away, but you voted to **** this province over for decades to come. And that is why I am not letting you distance yourself from it. You chose this. You supported this. You gave Jason kenney free reign to do all these thing. Hope you're happy. At least I cast a vote for a decent person and a party that wasn't interested in ******* everyone over.

Maybe it’s time for the 2 of you to take this Kenney skirmish to the private messaging board. Not sure if the current state of Alberta politics resonates with many on this board here in Manitoba, but when the conversation devolves into name-calling over how each of you personally voted, and words like “stupid”, “lazy” and “gullible” get thrown around by both sides and the debate becomes a personal attack, Then IMO time to take it outside and get off the main board for your pissing contest. If I’m alone in my belief, then I apologize, I just don’t have moderator ban hammer powers.

While I agree that the personal insults have gone beyond what is historically acceptable, I think it's important to discuss what other provincial governments are implementing as it is often a sign of things to come in other provinces.  At least that's my justification for highlighting what the UCP government is up to.

We're witnessing the Pallister gov't copying what the Ontario PCs and UCP are doing. He did the same with Wall's gov't in SK.

I can agree with that, but what we are all being subjected to from those two now is not that at all.
