^^ The biggest thing I'm getting from today's nonsense in Ottawa is that Ontario is finally starting to understand what it's like in Alberta every Goddamned day.... In my small rural AB town, there are confederate flags in trucks every day, and hanging from apartment windows. There are F*** Trudeau stickers on the back window of so many vehicles....dozens and dozens. This isn't something that just popped up over night.... it's been brewing ever since their hero Uncle Steve got tossed in 2015....

Would reiterate that this is worth the read, even if you feel it is a long. One thing that crept up in my mind was a tweet someone wrote when Novak Djokovic was being kicked out of Australia and his parents and supporters were crying about oppression, and it applies here too:

”When you have lived a life of privilege, it can be easy to mistake inconvenience with oppression”.

I personally think these protestors have mixed messages. One the one hand, they are against man-dates but on the other so many of them want to sleep with Justin Trudeau.

yeah I don't understand them either they claim to be not be anti-vax but they're anti-mandate? I don't think they can have it both ways

If you ask the **** trudeau people which policy of his they dont like....... they can't think of one.

Albertans Trudeau hate is for what?

building the pipeline they want with everyone's money?

lobbying Biden not to cancel Keystone pipeline?

legalize marijuana?

what more could the guy do that they want? I suppose could have legalized speed, probably would be popular in Alberta.

poor hard done by Alberta. boo hoo.

could easily have been avoided,  but it will be a hillbilly ghost Province within the lifetime of lots of people posting here.

They got all upset about Papa Trudeau telling them what to do about oil, even though they benefitted from the billions the Feds have pumped into the oil sector. They don't want the Feds in their business.

But, at the same time, they're upset with JT because he won't force other jurisdictions to build a pipeline. They somehow want the Feds to tell everyone else what to do.

They talk out of both sides of their asses. They're arguments breakdown as soon as you examine them.

I have a step-mother-in-law in AB who can't stand Trudeau for the fact that he's a Liberal.  Basically in her eyes, if it's not Conservative/pro-business, or if it looks anything like socialism, then it's bad.

You call them arguments. That’s funny. I think verbal diarrhea is a bit more accurate.

yes, maybe it's this justin investment they dont like

"Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday $1.7 billion to clean up orphaned and abandoned oil and gas wells in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, which he estimates will help create 5,200 jobs in Alberta alone."

cleaning up oily mess, left by their heros oilco, and alberta conservative gov. inc. while creating jobs in alberta. no wonder they hate him.

Fair point about the federal liberal party being pro business, but they also put out the CERB, which was a totally socialist thing to do.  If it's not Conservative, it's bad.

She's one of those people who believe that as along as you work hard, you will succeed.  Ignoring the fact that there are people out there who have suffered trauma and have large barriers to success due to the way our society is setup.  Some people out there who are the hardest workers, will never be able to achieve success due to their circumstances (ie. race, background, connections).

The ironic thing is that the Alberta government is actually killing people with its policies and not a whisper from the Neanderthals. But they have to protest a policy that is actually saving lives. Go figure.

Btw being an Alberta resident, they come in all shapes, sizes and colors not just the ones you envision driving a pick up truck with a F*uck Trudeau sticker.

We moved to southern Alberta to get to know our granddaughters better and spent three years there. I saw and heard more casual racism there in the first six months than I did in many years in Manitoba. It was stunning how overt and common it was. I could not believe it. Coming back to Manitoba was a relief.

Ya it's very much normalized out here... The general hate toward anyone or anything that doesn't match what they believe in. The things I've heard at the local curling rink would turn your stomach.

Did you spend time in rural Manitoba? Cause I promise you, you will hear and see the exact same **** there.

These idiots are not true Canadians and know nothing about what freedom really means, their actions today in Ottawa is all about getting their faces on social media and looking like fools

Baffling that this cohort of people self identify as really dumb and that they believe this dumbness is owning the libs. Hey, throughout time I’ve said some pretty dumb things but I don’t think I’ve ever been proud of it because it’s triggered someone else.
