Anything Ford does is criticized by the left... I have friends in Ontario who are Libs or NDP & they're on twitter constantly bitching.

And anything the Liberals or NDP does is criticized by the right wing. This is politics. What is your point? The biggest difference is that when center-left voters see that their candidates are screwing up, they will change their votes or abstain from voting, but right-wingers will ignore everything and double down in their support. In any case, this ought to be moved out of the Bomber section.

liberals and ndp aren't socialist though...in the same way the PC's aren't actually free market capitalists.

Also, everyone hates socialism until they need the cops/hospitals etc. And on the flip side, everyone hates capitalism until they want new technology or more income. Both have played a large role in your life whether you like it or not. Stop being ignorant and understand that there are nuances in everything.

I don't criticize legalizing tailgates.

But did you criticize the legalization of marijuana?

I disagreed with  it but I never said anything here. I had a family member who was an addict & alcoholic. In & out of rehab & accompanying family chaos,. Anger, guilt, despair & suffering. You don't want that to happen to anyone you love, believe me.

Agreed but not sure it's related.

Anyhow, we're wayy off-topic. I'll continue in Canadian Politics thread.

Related in the sense as to why I didn't agree with legalization of weed. Otherwise had we not gone through this ordeal, I probably wouldn't have cared.

Continuing the tailgating - socialist meanie - capitalist pig discussion...

I'm glad they're deregulating tailgating in Ontario. Be nice if we could get rid of the government's involvement in our booze too, beyond taxing and regulating it. Don't need them to sell it. Marijuana can be sold be third parties, so why not booze?

I think he means, keeping something illegal doesn't stop it from being abused. In the same way legalizing something doesn't increase the amount it's abused.

I was at one of those polling/roundtable discussions last year and clearly the topic was about privatizing liquor sales. As long as they get their cut i'm okay with it.

Just wish i had known about the stealing beforehand as I would have suggested private ownership would deal with it a lot better.

There is a lot of alcoholic beverages sold privately already.

Agreed. So why not more? We already have wine stores and beer vendors. Why is hard liquor a "no go"?

"Lying to Canadians"

Feb 7 2019 the day after the Globe first broke the story.  Trudeau said the story was untrue and there was no basis to it.

Later he claimed not know JWR had concerns which he was later forced to distort to a difference in "experience".

Lying politicians is not new...but it still needs to be pointed out....Justin Trudeau is a liar.
