FrostyWinnipeg Posted February 20, 2017 Report Posted February 20, 2017 (edited) Time : Tuesday 630 Story : Laine vs Matthews. No one else playing. Edited February 20, 2017 by FrostyWinnipeg Mark F 1
Floyd Posted February 20, 2017 Report Posted February 20, 2017 Helle's on a roll. So is Laine. So is Trouba and Morrissey... Crazy how calling up Ben Chiarot has turned this team around ha...
Mark F Posted February 20, 2017 Report Posted February 20, 2017 hockey is so clean cut and polite these days compared to the days of the broadstreet bullies Laine and Mathews (?) photo..... such nice boys!
IC Khari Posted February 20, 2017 Report Posted February 20, 2017 (edited) Calling it ... Laine has a huge game, pots a few, and generally overshadows and shows Matthews up! After the game Matthews becomes the prohibitive favorite to win the Calder by the Toronto media Edited February 20, 2017 by IC Khari
iHeart Posted February 20, 2017 Report Posted February 20, 2017 Well Trouble is in trouble, he's going to get a hearing for his hit on Mark Stone, I'm surprised Hellebuyck isn't getting a hearing for stopping that late goal Mark F and IC Khari 2

do or die Posted February 20, 2017 Report Posted February 20, 2017 Calling it now......Laine gets 4 points - 3 secondary assists, and an empty net goal. Leaf fans talk afterwards about how invalid, all of it is.........

You say that, but can you tell if they're wearing any pants?
The Unknown Poster Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 This is going to be a rough D tonight

Floyd Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Melchiori with Buff... ??? Didn't see that coming. If Melch, Chiarot and Stuart just spend the whole first period hammering Toronto's forwards, the Jets might be okay... if not, they'll be skating circles around this D by the third.

The less shuffling, the better, I would think. Who did JoMo play with while he was with the Moose?

IMO it would be asking alot of Melchiori to step into the NHL and play on his off-side, and similarly a lot to ask of Morrissey to carry him. Goalie 1

Attack hard up front and don't spend a lot of time in your own zone. Muck it up in the neutral zone as much as you can. #SwissStyle
bustamente Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Maybe lightning can strike twice, you all remember a few years ago when we were missing over half our starting defencemen and a rag tag bunch played pretty well, could it happen again I guess we will see tonight.
Noeller Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 You always hope that, if they're not exactly experienced, hopefully they'll at least be hungry and want to show the coaches they deserve more time.
do or die Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 We need Beastly Buff tonight.....not that other guy.
Floyd Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Just waiting for Maurice to announce that Hutch is starting...

Atomic Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Melchiori at least is a stay-at-home, big body type. He's probably not going to try to do too much. Might be a nice fit with Buff, really. Floyd 1

Goalie Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 The pairings mean very little in my opinion.... I think what you will see eventually as the game goes on is Buff Morrissey and Postma getting the majority of the minutes, If it's a close game i think you see Buff Chiarot Postma Morrissey playing all the minutes with Stu and Melchiori sitting on the bench most the time. Regardless of what the opening game combinations are, i think Buff Postma Morrissey Chiarot each play over 20 minutes.
Goalie Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Just want to say... Props to Blake Wheeler calling out the DOPS today in an interview in Toronto at the rink. Quite the interview, Wheeler didn't really hold back at all. It's an interesting listen and should be available on the Jets site and on twitter for sure. bustamente and Mark F 2
