The Unknown Poster Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 This is exactly why this is so brutal. They called up a mercenary, he did his job, and no one really suffers except Toby and the Jets. So what happens if Jets call up Peluso and he elbows Crosby in the head? Oh well. Its ridiculous. NHL has to put a stop to these mercenary call ups and start punishing the coach and team. They've been talking about the issue of players running goalies because of the Concussion Protocol requiring time in the quiet room. The idea being, imagne its OT of Game 7 and a 4th line player runs the goalie, goalie is "fine" but is forced to go to the quiet room and his team is scored on and loses. Start punishing the team. If the PA is so ass-backwards they wont cooperate on player safety, punish the coaches and teams.
Floyd Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Yeah, Thorbs three minutes of ice time really made a difference...
FrostyWinnipeg Posted March 9, 2017 Author Report Posted March 9, 2017 Petan 43 games 1g 11a -10 Thorburn 51 games 3g 1a -5 So...Thorburn better at goals and +/-, Petan better at assists. Great discussion
Floyd Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 I still cheer for Petan... Maurice jobbed him. Look at his first 15 games... he's getting 7 pts, -2 and about 15 mins per game, 19-20 shifts... quarterbacking powerplay (5 pp assists) Next 15 games... his minutes get cut to ~10 per game, 15 shifts... and he's 4pts, -1 Last 14 games... around 8 minutes ice time, about 12 shifts... zero pts, -8 This looks more like a player losing his confidence than anything else...
iHeart Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 oh I wish that the Penguins organization would face a hearing as well
Rich Posted March 10, 2017 Report Posted March 10, 2017 Like it matters. He was just going to get sent back down anyway.
iHeart Posted March 10, 2017 Report Posted March 10, 2017 I take it that the suspensions don't cover the AHL does it?
iHeart Posted March 10, 2017 Report Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) meanwhile in Pittsburgh the Pens fans are probably crying foul over lowry's hit on Malkin being ignored Edited March 10, 2017 by iHeart
