The Unknown Poster Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 2 hours ago, Floyd said: Sad thing is that at this time last year, I felt fine with the 'growing pains' and was still excited to watch the young guys when Petan-Copp-Armia really had chemistry, Helle looked great, Maurice was rolling four lines, Tanev looked like a great fourth liner, Morrissey showed up for one game, Dano and a 1st for Ladd... It felt like the Jets were close to turning a corner - like that season was a blip. This season - our D callups are worse than awful, 1st round pick wasted on Stanley, huge questions about Myers and Trouba's future with the club, huge hole in net, Thorburn still wasting space, Stafford for a garbage pick, Lowry getting more ice time than Laine, PK and PP worse than ever Chevy's taken the 2011 Thrashers... and turned them into the 2011 Oilers. Check back in a few years to see if Stanley was a wasted pick. By the way, had the Jets not taken him, someone else was going to waste their pick on him shortly thereafter as he went right around where he was predicted to go. Trouba would be the most sought after D man if he was UFA or the Jets offered him in a trade so not sure how Trouba being really really good is an example of poor D. Myers is a bonafide top 4 D (top 2 on many teams) who was the most sought after player at the deadline when the Jets got him. Would be much sought after should the Jets decide to trade him. Myers being injured and needing surgery is a difficult thing to hang on Chevy and the Jets unless Chevy took a crowbar to Myers' groin in the parking lot. Im as frustrated as you. But not to the extent I'd make wildly inaccurate claims. JCon and Goalie 2

Trouba still has another year and will be an RFA for a few more after that. He may not want to be here but the Jets still control him and can obviously get good assets in return if they dealt him. We still have two of the highest rated goalie prospects in Helle and Comrie. Trading two picks for a longshot prospect who is another big slow D is a wasted pick. If Trouba is not signed this summer, expect him to be traded at deadline or to holdout again in 2018-19 Yup, both Helle and Comrie used to be rated as better prospects than Matt Murray... two great prospects who are having serious development issues.
Atomic Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 See I don't believe Comrie is having development issues, other than playing on a horrid team. Goalies SHOULD experience ups-and-downs for a few years in the AHL before coming up, unless they are Carey Price. Goalie 1
mbrg Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 Don't be mad if the Jets get shut out tonight - it's only because they care about my fantasy hockey team.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted March 24, 2017 Author Report Posted March 24, 2017 Michael Hutchinson starts, Jacob Trouba, Josh Morrissey are in.
iHeart Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 god I hate the ducks, I am not looking forward to tonight
iHeart Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 and buffy isn't going to play what the heck happened to him last night?
iHeart Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 hmmm is this the second straight away game where the anthem singer doesn't butcher our anthem?

Probably the best jets goalie at training camp this past year. Weird that he struggles at times playing behind melchiori and strait as his top 2 d men Edited March 25, 2017 by Goalie
Floyd Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 Hutch looks good tonight... If the PP could do anything, he'd get a win.
bustamente Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 Such a sad but expected result back home against the Canucks might be able to win 1 last time this year.
Floyd Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 Give the Jets a break... Bernier is a world class goalie - like Hutch

He struggled with the leafs but the leafs were tanking on purpose. He'd be a guy I'd consider offering a contract to in the off season. Seriously underated. Great numbers
