Seems retirements are more funny and discussion worthy when they happen elsewhere They're really only funny and worth more discussion when the team goes on about how the "big name" free agent signed with them and got a nice SIGNING (not the same as a Roster bonus fyi) bonus only to retire before even playing a single game. I know you want to try to make it seem like the Price and Waggoner situations are similar (maybe to help make you feel better about that horrible off season last year?). But they aren't. Except for the fact that both players played football in the CFL. Waggoner actually played for the bombers. Unlike Mo, who played Jones and the Rider organization. So again, I know priders are all over Bomber retirements with "I guess it's not funny when it happens to you" and the like. But the Mo price situation is unique in that he never once played for the riders, AND was a bigger name. So while other teams have had oddly timed retirements. Nothing has come close to being as funny as the Price retirement. I hope that helps clear up this insanely easy to understand situation for you. Tracker and Atomic 2

The guys they traded for only to have them promptly retire were equally as funny. We got a season out of Smith, and two out of Waggoner....not the same thing at all. Bigblue204 1

What struck me most was the excuses for missing the open man. His pre snap read combined with the way the defense played soo shallow should have made it clear even if it was 100% obscured. But then that type of thing always rubs me poorly.
wbbfan Posted May 16, 2017 Report Posted May 16, 2017 http://footballgameplan.com/feat/hunts-scouting-notes/ "This was my first viewing of Bell’s game from a scouting perspective. I’ve watched NCCU over the last two seasons from an analyst standpoint and I’ve been on record saying how much Bell has improved his game over last season. This was a great showing from him from a reading the field standpoint and mental toughness standpoint. First, the athleticism he has at the position is clearly evident. Bell has cat-like quickness to get himself out of trouble and above-average short-area burst to split defenders. From a passing standpoint, he shows the ability to throw with touch at all three levels. Certain routes he tends to flatline, which could cause tipped passes. He throws well on the move to either side. At times he’ll force a throw over the middle of the field that’ll get him into trouble, but overall, he has all of the requisite tools you need to succeed at the next level. I came away very impressed how he handled the blitz and 3rd downs. This is where the mental toughness part came into play. Bell routinely ‘did what he had to do’ to keep plays and drives alive. I think he still has growth in his game." career numbers of 57% completion, 6340 yards, with and average pass of 7 yards, 42 tds to 33 ints. 42 passing tds in 42 games, but he clearly didnt play much of the first 8 games he dressed. Only watch some of the highlights reels, but he does have a ton of em up going back to HS. The scouting reports n stuff say he improved every year. But production looks better his first year starting (14) then his senior year (16). But it is certainly harder to be effective when you are on a team 4 years and start 3. Especially as a mobile qb. I like that he is a 3 years starter and spent 4 years in the same system. A lot of the young guys we bring in seem to be guys with very limited experience and who bounce between teams a lot. He tends to reach back on his passes, and some times fall into a wind up motion. It slows down his release a good bit. But he does play much better and quicker when rushed. Really shortens up his release and gets it out. I like his elusive speed and movement. And that he knows where the first down marker is when he runs. Too bad we didnt have him around for mini camp. Should be fun to watch in TC. He and applejax (apodaca) give us an interesting battle for developmental qb. Both are young, athletic and have tons of up side. Fatty Liver 1
