Blue in the loops Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 What is your favourite pizza place in the city mine is verns and pizza land. wbbfan 1
The Unknown Poster Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 For me, it really depends. Im digging Panago now (they make vegan for the gf). Santa Lucia never disappoints and sometimes you can just get a Pizza Hut. The Sheraton on Pembina HWY makes a fantastic pizza too.
Dr. Blue Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 Top three for me... Royal Pizza, Santa Lucia, and Niakwa. wbbfan 1
Taynted_Fayth Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 I like Slices at the corner of Valour and Portage - not so much the one around grant and stafford Jimmy Pop 1
iHeart Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 aw man I love Pizza Hut something awful, and Boston has the best desserts, I am so mad that they took the Cream Pie Scraper off the menu. And recently I have developed a taste for Papa Johns, they appetizers are that good especially those pepperoni rolls
bigg jay Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) I try to stick with Dal's or Santa Lucia. Always enjoyed Little Pizza Heaven when I've had it as well. Edited July 31, 2017 by bigg jay Wrong name blue_gold_84 and SPuDS 2
basslicker Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 Totally underrated, but Pizza Hotline. Living in Calgary, it was awesome when there was one open here. It felt like being home, but then it closed....boo. If I'm in Winnipeg, Santa Lucia.
SPuDS Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!! lol. I love Dals, the Looch, and little pizza heaven.. but lately my favourite has been Spanky's out in East Kildonan. I'm also dying to try Veras. I've heard its ridiculously good and authentic to how pizza is supposed to be done.
JCon Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 Santa Lucia is my favorite. There's also a place in Winnipeg Square, sells pizza by the slice. It's ridiculously good. The meat lovers is amazing (my favorite) and they have a great Mediterranean (veggie) pizza. I never remember the name.
Bigblue204 Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 Agostino's on Ness has been my go to lately.
Nickthesizz Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) Little Pizza Heaven, definitely recommend it if you just want a slice or two or a whole pizza. There are a couple in the city, one in Osborne village and one on St. Annes. Edited July 31, 2017 by Gotmilt blue_gold_84 1
wbbfan Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 Like most here, santa and niakwa are tops for me. Ive been meaning to get down and try carbone coal fired pizza for a while. The best pizzas ive ever had have been coal fire cooked. Used to be a lil pizza shop in st vital that was really good, but that was ages ago. Off topic, original georges burgers and subs is my favorite burger n fry joint.

Can't beat a Supreme large from the Hut on a Thursday for $11.3 all in. JCon 1
SpeedFlex27 Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Panago & if you're ever in Calgary go to Nick's & order a pizza. They make a great beef, mushroom & onion. Right across the street on Crowchild Trail NW from McMahon Stadium.
rebusrankin Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Santa Anna's in St Vital, Santa Lucia, Pizzaria Gusto. Logan007, bearpants and Nickthesizz 2 1
blue_gold_84 Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 (edited) Santa Lucia takes it for me. I'm also big on The Pizza Oven, Dals, and Spanky's (we have our NHL fantasy drafts there). Edited August 1, 2017 by blue_gold_84 SPuDS 1
Mark H. Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Pizza Hut Supreme - with a Cooper's Canadian Blonde

It's a hard name to remember, but the pizza is unforgettable! Love it. I'm surprised the thread has gone this far without mentioning Gondola. So good. JCon and blue_gold_84 2

nate007 Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 I'm not into the heavy, greasy stuff any more. ZA is where it's at these days. Thin crust plus unlimited toppings FTW. For something with a little more substance, Santa Ana is the place to go. rebusrankin 1

I erased a post that was mentioning Gondolas pizza yesterday because I haven't really had it for like 10 years since power 97 stopped offering it up as the power lunch (I think they run the promo through Santa Lucia now) but I used to win that power lunch ever couple of months. It was pretty good back then, but after living a block away from a gondolas for a few years on vivian and st marys I kind of over killed it. maybe it's time to order it up again. Atomic 1
bearpants Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Santa Anna's on the corner of St Mary's and Vista is my favourite... a hidden gem I love, if you happen to be in Altona there's a little joint called Pizza Haven, it's quite good... Probably not the best in the city but I really love going to ZA Pizza Bistro...if you haven't been there, it's basically a "subway-style" pizza where you pay $12ish and you pick the crust/sauce/toppings... and everything is unlimited... the only drawback is is the wait time... if there's a line up, expect to be waiting at least 30 mins from the time you walk in to the time you leave with your pizza... rebusrankin and SPuDS 2
Atomic Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 The ZA pizza in cityplace has their system moving pretty good. Big lineup there at lunch every day but the wait time is reasonable. Another good hidden gem is "Back at the Ranch" in Oakbank. The crust is kinda weird, like a pie crust, but it is very good pizza. SPuDS 1

One of the best things ZA has going for them is the availability of goat cheese. Game changer.
